Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan game edukasi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang interaktif dan fleksibel melalui media game edukasi berbasis web. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SD N Pancuranmas dan SD N Setan, Kecamatan Secang, Kabupaten Magelang, dengan 20 guru yang berkomitmen meningkatkan profesionalisme dan keterampilan digital mereka.Pelatihan terdiri dari empat tahap: observasi, sosialisasi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Materi utama pelatihan ini adalah pembuatan game edukasi menggunakan aplikasi Wordwall. Selama enam pertemuan, peserta mengikuti sesi pemaparan, diskusi, dan praktik langsung dalam pembuatan game.Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan guru dalam membuat game edukasi berbasis web. Guru mampu memanfaatkan game tersebut sebagai media pembelajaran yang interaktif, yang juga berhasil meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif, terutama dalam implementasi hasilnya pada pembelajaran di kelas, yang menjadikannya alternatif efektif untuk meningkatkan interaksi dan keterlibatan peserta didik.   Training how to create web-based education games as an alternative to flexible and interactive teaching media   Abstract: The educational game development training aims to enhance teachers' ability to utilize technology to create interactive and flexible learning through web-based educational games. This activity was conducted at SD N Pancuranmas and SD N Setan, Secang District, Magelang Regency, and involved 20 teachers who were committed to improving their professionalism and digital skills. The training was divided into four stages: observation, socialization, mentoring, and evaluation. The main material focused on creating educational games using the Wordwall application. Over six sessions, participants engaged in presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice in game development. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers' skills in developing web-based educational games. The teachers were able to use these games as interactive learning media, which also successfully increased student motivation. This training had a positive impact, especially in applying the outcomes in classroom learning, making it an effective alternative to enhance student interaction and engagement.

Abstract

English language teaching in primary schools provides an important basis for students’ language development. The development of English language skills in elementary school students is important. The primary goal of this study was to explore the challenges that teachers face when teaching English at SDN Mangunsari. The qualitative method was used in this study to identify and classify the specifics of challenges in teaching English. The researchers gather the data through a observation to identify and address challenges faced by teachers when teaching English at SDN Mangunsari. The collected data will be analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The difficulties in teaching English at SDN Mangunsari include curriculum transitions, gaps generated by students of different ages within the same grade, and inconsistency caused by a lack of alignment between teaching and assessment. To overcome the challenges found at SDN Mangunsari when teaching English, transition English classes, cooperative learning, and consistent English teaching in all grades must be implemented. These strategies attempt to create a suitable learning environment and to make the English language topic more accessible at SDN Mangunsari.

Abstract

To ensure that students can understand the meaning of the English they are learning, knowledge of content and function words are two important aspects that must be possessed. The aim is to avoid misunderstanding in the interpretation process, both in written and oral texts. Nevertheless, this research was made with the aim of knowing types of content words appeared in the lyrics of Selena Gomez's song "Who Says" and the function of the dominant content word in this song. In order to obtain the required data, researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. Meanwhile, the lyrics of the song were analyzed manually by giving the symbols "V", "N", "Adj", and "Adv" according to the word class. With the result that the data could be obtained, they were 83 words of nouns, 74 words of verbs, 32 words of adjectives, and 3 words of adverbs. In addition, of the 83 nouns, there was the word "you're" which was the dominant or most appearing word that could function as a subject as well as an object.
