Abstract

The research was conducted in January - February 2022, at the Hatchery and Fish Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of NaCl solution in cement with different concentrations on the value of fertilization and hatching of catfish eggs (Pangasianodon hypopthalmus). The experiment used a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatment levels and 3 replications, namely: P1: addition of 0.9% physiological NaCl solution, P2: 0.3% NaCl solution, P3: 0.5% NaCl solution, and P4: 0.7% NaCl solution. The results showed that the use of doses of NaCl solution with different concentrations affected the motility value of spermatozoa, the degree of fertilization, the hatching of eggs and dilution. The dose treatment with a concentration of 0.5% produced the highest spermatozoa motility value, which is very good (++++) with characteristics like: big and numerous waves, dark, thick, and actively moving quickly, fertilization rate of 84.32%, hatching rate of 85.39%, and survival rate of 84.23%. The water quality parameters were 29 - 30oC, pH 6.2 - 7 and dissolved oxygen 6.5 - 7.2 mg/

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the best light on the container and the feeding rate on the growth and survival of snakehead fish larvae. This research was carried out in March-April 2022 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. This research method used a Completely Randomized Design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the different Lights of the container, which were on two levels. The second factor is the feeding rate, which has three levels. The treatments in this study, namely WtP40 (light and feeding rate 40), WtP50 (light and feeding rate 50), WtP60 (light and feeding rate 60), WgP40 (dark and feeding rate 40), WgP50 (dark and feeding rate 50), WgP60 (dark and feeding rate 60). The results showed that the container's light and the feeding rate had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on the growth and survival of snakehead fish larvae. The results showed that dark containers with a feeding rate of 60% provided a high growth and survival rate in snakehead fish larvae rearing.

Abstract

Natural feed is an initial feed that has a complete nutritional content and is closer to the biological needs of fish larvae, one of which is Tubifex sp. Tubifex sp is a type of natural feed that is very important in freshwater aquaculture activities, especially for catfish hatcheries. Tubifex sp. has a fairly high nutritional content, 57% protein, 13.3% fat, 2.04% crude fiber, 3.6% ash content and 87.7% water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fermentor dosing on tofu dregs as a Tubifex sp. culture medium on population and biomass growth rates. This research was conducted in August - October 2023 located in the laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University. The research method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The fermentor dose used was in the treatment P0 (0.0 ml), P1 (0.5 ml), P2 (1.0 ml), P3 (1.5 ml). The results of this study indicated that the dose of fermentor on tofu dregs as a culture medium for Tubifex sp. had a significant effect (P<0.05) on population and biomass. The highest population and biomass were found in treatment P2, with a population of 13519 ind and a biomass of 49.52 grams which were reared for 56 days. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that giving fermenter doses to tofu dregs as a Tubifex sp. culture medium can increase population and biomass.

Abstract

This research was conducted on April - May 2021, at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory of Fishery and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Kirinyuh leaf (Euphatorium odoratum) solvent and the optimal dose on hatching rate of tambaqui larvae (Colossoma macropomum). The method used was a Completely Randomized Design Factorial with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The dose of kirinyuh leaf solvent used was P0 (0 mg/L) P1 (100 mg/L) P2 (120 mg/L) and P3 (140 mg/L). rGH with 3 levels; 0 mg/L (D0), 1.5 mg/L (D1,5) and 2.5 mg/L (D2,5). The immersion duration of kirinyuh leaf solvent is 20 minutes with 100 eggs for the density. This study aims to determine the effect of different substrates on the spawning and hatching of Zebrafish Pink Danio (Brachydanio rerio), and to determine the best substrate for hatching Zebra Pink Danio eggs. This research was conducted from February to March 2020 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. The fish used were 24 Pink Danio broodfish (12 male and 12 female broods with an average length of 3.77 cm for males and 3.87 cm for females. The method used was a completely randomized design method RAL) with 4 treatments with 3 replications, while the treatments were SO (control), SH (Hydrilla), STR (Tali raffia), SI (Ijuk). The results of this study concluded that different substrates had an effect on fish spawning and hatching. Zebra Pink Danio uses a substrate, natural spawning using a substrate such as Hydrilla gives the best results with an average number of eggs 288 eggs, fertilization rate (FR) of 92.58%, hatchability rate of eggs (HR) of 91.97% , and the 10-day larval survival rate was 91.26%. The water quality during the study was in the optimal range for the spawning of Zebrafish Pink Danio, such as temperatures ranging from 29.5-31.20C, pH 6-7.3 and dissolved oxygen. (DO) 4-5 mg / L.

Abstract

This research was conducted on December 22 2019 – January 30 2020, at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory of Fishery and Marine Science Faculty of Universitas Riau. This study purposed to understand the effect of the best feed (Tubifex sp., water flees or synthetic feed ) to replace the first feed ( Artemia sp.) and the best feed combination to growth and survival rate of gouramy larvae. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Treatments used P1= Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Water Fleas ( 21-30 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 31-40 days old ) + Artificial Feed ( 41-50 days old ), P2 = Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Water Fleas ( 21-30 days old ) + Artificial Feed ( 31-40 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 41-50 days old ), P3 = Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 21-30 days old ) + Water Fleas ( 31-40 days old ) + Artificial Feed ( 41-50 days old ), P4 = Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 21-30 days old ) Artificial Feed ( 31-40 days old ) + Water Fleas ( 41-50 days old ), P5 = Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Artificial Feed ( 21-30 days old ) + Water Fleas ( 31-40 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 41-50 days old ). P6 = Artemia sp. ( 11-20 days old ) + Artificial Feed ( 21-30 days old ) + Tubifex sp. ( 31-40 days old ). The research showed that the best feed to replace Artemia sp. is Tubifex sp. produced weight 0,57 g, length 2,53 cm, daily growth rate 9,54% days and survival rate 81,11%. Feed combination treatments affected on absolute weights, absolute length and daily growth rate but did not affect the survival rate of gouramy larvae. The water quality during the research temperatures 26,3-27,40 C, pH 6,5-7,3 and DO 4,3-6,0 ppm
