Abstract

Early childhood education forms the foundation of child development through play and parental support. Parental engagement, especially in the form of academic expectations, is essential for children's school readiness and optimal development. This study aims to examine the effect of parental engagement on the classroom learning process of early childhood students at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education, Tanjung Sari II, Palembang. This quantitative research used questionnaires distributed to 24 respondents, with hypothesis testing conducted through a t-test. The results showed that parental engagement in early childhood learning was relatively high, with a mean score of 32.71 and a standard deviation of 3.56. Several indicators, such as parental participation and interaction, were categorized as very high, although aspects of creativity and learning stimulation still require improvement. The regression t-test analysis indicated a significant effect, with a significance value of 0.000 and a regression coefficient of 0.512. The R Square value of 0.537 indicates that parental engagement explains 53.7% of the variance in learning outcomes. Conclusion: Parents have a strong influence in supporting early childhood learning in the classroom.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of factors influencing student attitudes during the learning process at Bimbingan Belajar Bulan Kecil in Curup, Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. The research method utilized a qualitative approach, incorporating interviews, observations, and surveys. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and confirmability. Research findings show that students’ attitudes received an average score of 2.84, indicating positive behaviors such as politeness, appropriate dress, bringing supplies, and focusing on the material that supports the success of the tutoring program. Student motivation was pretty good, with an average score of 2.65, although parental support requires improvement. Tutor attitudes scored high (2.94), fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The classroom environment was conducive to learning comfort, with an average score of 2.89. Peer influence was relatively positive in terms of learning collaboration, despite occasional distractions. Tutors’ teaching methods were effective (average score 2.81), but student engagement needs to improve. Facilities scored high (2.94), supporting learning comfort. The tutoring frequency of three times a week was considered adequate, although students sometimes felt bored. The schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays did not interfere with other activities (average score 2.64). However, the two-hour session duration was deemed less effective, with an average score of 1.58, indicating the need to adjust the duration or adopt more interactive methods. In conclusion, students’ attitudes during tutoring sessions fall into the good category; however, improvements are needed in parental support, teaching methods, and session duration adjustments.

Abstract

Language development in early childhood is influenced by interactions with parents, teachers, and the surrounding environment. The use of audio-visual media, such as animated films, has the potential to enhance young children’s language abilities in early childhood education settings. This study aims to evaluate the effect of audio-visual media on the development of early childhood language skills through interaction with animated films. The research employed a One-Group Pretest-Posttest experimental design with direct observation and inferential statistical analysis (validity and normality tests, and a t-test). Based on the t-test results, the pretest had a significant effect on the posttest (p = 0.024), which is less than 0.05. This indicates a significant difference in children’s language abilities before and after the use of audio-visual TV media at Raudhatul Athfal Al-Quraniyah, South Bengkulu. Therefore, it can be concluded that children’s engagement in watching animated films positively impacts the development of early childhood language skills, demonstrating the effectiveness of audio-visual media in supporting early language development.
