Abstract

The implementation of vocational massage skills learning program for phase C blind students at SLB Bina Harapan Pangandaran is an educational service strategy aimed at supporting independence and work readiness of blind students. This study aims to describe the process of implementing massage skills programs, identify obstacles faced by teachers, and analyze strategies used to overcome these constraints. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were massage skills teachers and phase C blind students. The results showed that the program was implemented in stages, starting from basic theory to direct practice with a multisensory approach adapted to the characteristics of blind students. The main obstacles include limited tactile teaching media, unavailability of braille modules, limited practice space, and variations in student abilities. Teachers overcome these obstacles by modifying teaching aids, implementing individual approaches, delivering material orally and through direct demonstration, and involving parents in supporting practice at home. The massage skills program has a positive impact on improving fine motor skills, self-confidence, communication skills, and independence of blind students. The conclusion of this research is that the massage skills program has a positive effect on independence and work readiness of blind students. Research recommendations include developing more varied tactile teaching media, preparing braille and audio modules, improving teacher training, strengthening collaboration with parents and professionals, and providing adequate practice spaces.

Abstract

Students with physical disabilities often face various complex and diverse challenges in living their campus life. These challenges are not only limited to academic aspects, but also cover various aspects of daily life, including social interaction, access to campus facilities, and participation in various extracurricular activities. One of the most crucial aspects and often a major obstacle is the issue of mobility. Mobility is a very important basic need, but for students with physical disabilities, moving from one place to another on campus is often a very big challenge. Many buildings and facilities on campus are not designed with accessibility needs for people with disabilities in mind, so they have to struggle harder to be able to move around, attend classes, or simply participate in campus activities. This is where the important role of the Wheelchair with Portable Ramp (WAFEL) comes in, an innovation specifically designed to help overcome this mobility problem. WAFEL offers a very practical and effective solution, allowing students with physical disabilities to move more freely and independently in carrying out daily activities on campus. With WAFEL, students with physical disabilities are not only helped in terms of mobility but also have greater opportunities to participate fully in campus life, which can ultimately improve their quality of life and academic achievement

Abstract

Ketoprak Gaul 2024 represents the revitalization of Javanese performing arts that combines traditional culture and modern communication styles. This study aims to reveal gender representations and power relations in four Ketoprak Gaul 2024 scripts, namely Ulupati, Sabdha Malaya, Layung Girah, and Luh Tresna, using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis. A literature review shows that previous studies have focused on literary texts and media, without touching on modern folk performance texts. This study uses qualitative methods with analysis of dialogue, narrative, and stage directions, supplemented by interviews with lay readers and experts as triangulation sources. The focus of the analysis is on the position of the subject, object, and reader to explore the construction of ideology and power in the text. The results show that men are constructed as the dominant subject, while women become subordinate objects with limited space for resistance. However, there is also the potential for social criticism of feudalism and patriarchy through reflective dialogue. This study concludes that Ketoprak Gaul 2024 still reproduces patriarchal discourse structures, but at the same time presents the potential for social criticism of the traditional Javanese gender order, thereby enriching the study of gender representation in modern folk performances.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the types of expressive speech acts in Javanese language in novels and expressive speech acts on politeness and impoliteness in Javanese language in novels. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative approach with results and discussion in the form of narration. The data collection method is by listening method and the data collection technique is note taking. The data in this research is the speech of the characters in the novel Sekar Ratri which contains expressive speech acts. The formulation of the problem in this research is the type of expressive speech acts in Javanese language in Sekar Ratri novel and expressive speech acts on politeness and impoliteness in Javanese language. The results of this study there are three classifications in the research, namely expressive speech acts in Javanese, expressive speech acts in Javanese against politeness, and expressive speech acts in Javanese against impoliteness. Javanese expressive speech acts in Sekar Ratri novel have eight types of expressive speech acts, namely happy, sad, thank you, grateful, praise, patience, annoyance, and sarcasm. The expressive speech acts are combined with politeness and impoliteness in Javanese language.

Abstract

The development of vocational skills for students with intellectual disabilities requires appropriate assessment instruments to measure their abilities and learning progress. This study aims to develop a performance-based assessment instrument for eggdrop-based chocolate cake making skills spesifically designed for students with intellectual disabilities phase D. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach implemented at Pelita Al Karomah Special Education School teachers with two special education teachers and two validators as subjects. The development process was carried out through three stages: preparation with a literature review and need analysis, preparation of an instrument covering three main aspects (work readiness, manufacturing process and product results), and validation and limited trials. The instrument was designed using task analysis principles by breaking down complex tasks into simple, sequential, and observable steps, equipped with a 1-4 scale scoring rubric based on hierarchical prompting. Validation results showed the instrument met content validity criteria with clear, observable indicators that were appropriate to student characteristics. Limited trials demonstrated its practicality with a 15-20 minute completion time and ease of use by teachers. The developed instrument enables objective and systematic assessment that supports individualized learning planning and documentation of student learning progress in culinary vocational skills. ABSTRAK Pengembangan keterampilan vokasional bagi peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual memerlukan instrumen asesmen yang tepat untuk mengukur kemampuan dan perkembangan belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun instrumen asesmen berbasis kinerja pada keterampilan pembuatan kue coklat berbahan dasar eggdrop yang dirancang khusus untuk peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual fase D. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan di Sekolah Khusus Pelita Al Karomah dengan subjek dua orang guru pendidikan khusus dan dua orang validator. Proses pengembangan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu persiapan dengan kajian literatur dan analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan instrumen yang mencakup tiga aspek utama (kesiapan kerja, proses pembuatan, dan hasil produk), serta validasi dan uji coba terbatas. Instrumen dirancang menggunakan prinsip analisis tugas dengan memecah tugas kompleks menjadi langkah-langkah sederhana dan berurutan yang dapat diamati, dilengkapi rubrik penilaian skala 1-4 berdasarkan hirarki prompting. Hasil validasi menunjukkan instrumen memenuhi kriteria validitas konten dengan indikator yang jelas, dapat diobservasi, dan sesuai karakteristik peserta didik. Uji coba terbatas menunjukkan kepraktisan dengan efisiensi waktu pengisian 15-20 menit dan kemudahan penggunaan oleh guru. Instrumen yang dikembangkan memungkinkan asesmen yang objektif dan sistematis yang mendukung perencanaan pembelajaran terindividualisasi serta dokumentasi kemajuan belajar siswa dalam keterampilan vokasional tataboga.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of equitable teaching practices and teachers' pedagogical competence on student engagement in inclusive schools in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was adopted, with data collected from 225 respondents using a Likert-scale survey. The study examines the relationships between equitable teaching practices, pedagogical competence, and student engagement in inclusive classrooms. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings indicate that both equitable teaching practices and teachers' pedagogical competence significantly predict student engagement, with equitable teaching practices having a stronger influence. The study suggests that inclusive teaching strategies and enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence are essential for fostering student engagement in inclusive classrooms. These findings provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers working to improve inclusive education practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

Vocational assessment for students with intellectual disabilities  is designed to provide  information, readiness and diffulties in occupational functioning to performance a skill. The process of vocational assessment needed to be placed before the teacher compiling learning programs and the result of assessment will be used to determine curriculum modification need to be made to optimize students chances for success in the vocational programs. This study aims to determine the implementation of tidy up bed skills assessment that will be used in the preparation of vocational learning program for students with intellectual disabilities at high grade in Special School. The research method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. A variety of tehcniques are used to gathered information. Interviews, observations and documentation study are used to assess specific abilities related to a performance of skills. The steps taken in conducting the assessment are; preparation, implementation, analysis of assessment results, and communicating assessment results to whom it may concern. The instrumens of assessment are consists of aspects (1) tools knowledge, (2) the sequence steps of tidy up bed, (3) clear up tools, (4) maintenance process. The obstacle has been faced  is the teachers difficuties in analyzing and interpreting the results of the assessment. The results showed that some  students had basic abilities in simulating the work of tidy up bed , such as; prepare tools, tidy up bed, and maintaining clean bed and some others students didn’t shown the abilities to do  these steps. The results of the assessment explain the basic abilities of students and later  can be used as a reference to develop a learning program for tidy up bed skills

Abstract

Children with mild intellectual disabilities experience limitations in their cognitive abilities, which can impact their academic performance, particularly in subjects such as mathematics. To facilitate comprehension for these children, it is essential to use concrete and engaging learning media. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of such media in aiding children with disabilities in learning mathematics. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method. The findings reveal that some children with mild intellectual disabilities are able to recognize geometric shapes with teacher guidance, although others continue to face challenges. The study concludes with the development of validated mathematics learning media designed to help Grade VII students with mild intellectual disabilities recognize geometric shapes using Geoboard media. The study recommends that schools provide educational props or support media to enhance mathematics instruction related to data structures. It is also suggested that teachers and parents integrate these media into every lesson for practical application, with the goal of continuous improvement in the accessibility and effectiveness of learning media for children with mild intellectual disabilities.
