Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of students' argumentation skills on chemical equilibrium material through the use of student worksheets based on the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model. The method used is a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research method was applied to 29 grade XI students. The data collection method used is a test method with a pretest-posttest sheet instrument for argumentation skills. The results of the study showed an increase in students' argumentation skills on chemical equilibrium material after using student worksheets based on the ADI learning model. This was reviewed based on the n-gain score obtained in argumentation skills for the claim indicator of 1.00, the data indicator of 0.75, the warrant indicator of 0.77, and the backing indicator of 0.81, all n-gain scores on the four indicators were classified as high. In addition, this was also supported by an increase in the percentage of pretest-posttest argumentation skills and the results of the Wilcoxon test which showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05 which indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of students' argumentation skills. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there are significant differences and improvements in students' argumentation skills after using student worksheets based on the ADI learning model.

Abstract

Students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material are still low, so it is necessary to innovate digital-based teaching materials that can facilitate the process of planning, monitoring, and evaluating learning. This study aims to evaluate how well guided inquiry-oriented e-LKPD improves students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material. Students of SMA Negeri 1 Slahung were used as research subjects. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design and was pre-experimental. The results of the pretest and posttest of metacognitive skills were used to collect research data. The method used for data analysis was the Paired Sample t-Test. The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore, it can be said that guided inquiry-based e-LKPD successfully improved students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze misconceptions at the submicroscopic level as well as the causal factors of misconceptions in elemental, compound and mixture materials. This research was conducted using descriptive-quantitative method using three-tier diagnostic test and interview. The research subjects were grade IX with 41 students in a junior high school in Malang. The results of this study indicate that 31.0% of students experience misconceptions in determining the concept of atoms, especially for like and unlike atoms in determining elements, compounds and mixtures, 29.0% in the difference in material changes when viewed from the shape of atoms owned, and 27.0% in changes in the constituent particles of elements, compounds and mixtures. The factors causing this misconception are based on the way of learning, misconceptions from teachers, learning methods, initial abilities, and supporting books. The conclusion of this research is that students experience misconceptions that have an impact on their understanding of concepts, especially for the submicroscopic level. The ability to understand the submicroscopic level which is still low causes the need for efforts in reducing the misconceptions that occur.
