Abstract

Tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum L.) is an estate crop commodity that play an important role as a source of farmers and state income. The production of tobacco Cultivar Nani is categorized as low. The cultivation technique is not optimalized by the average of tobacco farmers was the factor. In consequence, cultivation technique improvement is required. Optimization of plant spacing and plant growth regulator triacontanol treatment are believed as a way to increase tobacco’s production along with the increase of plant growth. The purpose of this research was to find out the interaction between plant growth regulator triacontanol treatment and plant spacing on growth of tobacco Cultivar Nani. This experiment was conducted from January until June 2017 at the Ciparanje Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, Sumedang, Province of West Java. This experiment was conducted using a split plot design with two factors and three replications. Plant spacing treatment as main plot was consisted of three level treatments that is 30 cm x 80 cm, 40 cm x 80 cm, and 50 cm x 100 cm. Plant growth regulator triacontanol as sub plot was consisted of four levels treatments that is 0 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm and 2000 ppm. The result of this experiment showed that there was interaction between triacontanol treatment and plant spacing in chlorophyll content of tobacco’s leaf. Plant spacing 30 cm x 80 cm was significant in tobacco’s height on 7 weeks after planting. Giving 2000 ppm concentration of triacontanol with 40 cm x 80 cm space generated to highest content of chlorophyll in tobacco’s leaf and efficient seed usage.Keywords: Growth, Plant spacing, Tobacco, Triacontanol

Abstract

Di Indonesia sebagian besar perkebunan kelapa merupakan perkebunan rakyat dimana teknik budidaya yang diterapkan belum diperhatikan dengan baik yang menyebabkan produktivitasnya rendah. Penggunaan input misalnya air kelapa sebagai ZPT alami diharapkan dapat menjadi teknologi yang bermanfaat dalam mengembangkan salah satu aspek teknik budidaya dalam pengelolaan tanaman kelapa. Air kelapa mengandung banyak bahan mineral dan hormon sitokinin dan auksin yang dapat membantu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian air kelapa muda terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa belum menghasilkan (TBM). Percobaan dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor Kabupaten Sumedang pada bulan Maret 2017 – Mei 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan perlakuan air kelapa yang terdiri dari tiga taraf konsentrasi yaitu A = 100% air kelapa, B = 50% air kelapa + 50% air, C = 100% air yang masing-masing diulang enam kali. Uji lanjut menggunakan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian air kelapa dengan konsentrasi 100% menghasilkan respons terbaik pada pertumbuhan luas daun kelapa pada fase TBM. Air kelapa dengan konsentrasi 50% cenderung menghasilkan peningkatan pertumbuhan tinggi kelapa TBM.

Abstract

Rubber is one of main commodities of plantation crops that numerously developed in various districts in Indonesia. The role of the plant is strategic in human life in line with the increasing demand of world rubber. The optimum production increament of the rubber plant begins with the selection of a superior clone and the use of quality seeds. Fertilizing as a means of providing soil nutrients to plants should also be taken carefully.  One of the fertilization is by the provision of organic fertilizers in the form of washed rice water. This research aims to find out the effect of washed rice water in a different volume and frequency applied as organic fertilizer on the growth of rubber seedling GT1 clone.The experiment wasconductedfrom September 2011 toJanuary2012 atthe Experimental Station of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran. The experiment was arranged inRandomized Block Designed, with 9 treatments and 3 replications, thus there are 27 units of the experiment. The treatments were providing 100 ml  washed rice water with frequency of 3 days, 100 ml washed rice water with frequency of 5 days, 100 washed ml rice water with frequency of 7 days, 300 ml washed rice water with frequency of 3 days, 300 ml washed rice water with frequency of 5 days, 300 ml washed rice water with frequency of 7 days, 500 ml washed rice water with frequency of 3 days, 500 mL washed rice water with frequency of 5 days, and 500 ml washed rice water with frequency of 7 days. The results of the experiment showed that by providing 500 ml washed rice water with frequency of 3 days gave the best increament for stem height and diameter on rubber seedling GT1 clone.

Abstract

The peak production of BPM 24 clone rubber  was reached in the 7th to 10th year, but production quickly declined to reach its lowest point in 15 years. Stimulants are technologies used to increase production. Stimulants generally contain ethylene. Ethylene affects the balance of sucrose in latex formation and also increases metabolic activity in latex vessel cells. The purpose of this study is to know the physiological character response of rubber plants (hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) clone BPM 24 against the application of organic ethylene stimulant banana peel. The research was conducted in september to november 2019 at the research center of rubber experimental garden Sumbawa in Palembang, South Sumatra. This research method is descriptive with treatment: without stimulant, ethrel 10 PA, banana peel Ambon concentration 333 g/L, banana peel Ambon concentration 500 g/L, banana peel Ambon concentration 666 g/L, banana skin wax concentration 333 g/L, banana skin wax concentration 500 g/L, banana skin wax concentration 666 g/L, banana peel Kepok concentration 333 g/L, banana peel Kepok concentration 500 g/L, banana peel Kepok concentration 666 g/L. Observations are carried out on physiological character (thiol levels, inorganic phosphate levels, sucrose levels and dry tapping grooves. The treatment of banana skin stimulant is able to increase the production of latex without interference in the physiological character of the plant, but the use of stimulants with excessive and inappropriate doses can lead to the onion of dry tapping grooves.

Abstract

Sub soil is soil under the top soil layer, with low fertility. The use of sub soil as an Arabica coffee seedling planting media needs to be considered because the top soil layer has been much reduced by erosion or run off. Needs modification in sub-soil soils to increase fertility. Increased sub soil fertility can be done using organic materials, both solid and liquid. Coffee seedling using the right planting media will determine the growth and production of coffee in the field later. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of subsoil growing media with the addition of organic material for the growth of Arabica coffee seeds. The experiment was conducted at the Ciparanje Experimental Field, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang Regency, in March to June 2019 with altitude of ± 780 meters above sea level. The experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with 9 treatments repeated three times. The treatments are as follows: 100% topsoil; subsoil 100%; topsoil: chicken manure (2: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (1: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (2: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (3: 1); subsoil + 25% coconut water; subsoil + 50% coconut water; subsoil + 75% coconut water. The results showed that the modification of subsoil with the addition of organic matter affected the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings on stem diameter variables of 8 MST and leaf chlorophyll index of 16 MST. Subsoil media with the addition of chicken manure (3: 1) had a good effect on leaf chlorophyll index and subsoil media with 25% coconut water had a good effect on the diameter of Arabica coffee seedling stems. Subsoil can replace topsoil by adding organic matter.

Abstract

In order to properly grow, cocoa seedling requires adequate nutrients. In a usual practice nutrient in the form of 2g of urea is given once every two weeks. The source of nutrition for cocoa seeds can come from organic materials such as coconut water. Coconut water contains nutrients and growth hormones. The purpose of this study was to determine whether coconut water could be used to fulfill the nutrition of cocoa seedling through different application methods and intervals expressed by plant dry weight. The experiment was conducted from October 2019 until February 2020 in Ciparanje experimental field, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor with the altitude of 760 meter above the sea level. Experimental design used was randomized block design (RBD) with nine treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The treatments consisted of control (urea 2 g every 12 days), coconut water application towards plant every 3, 7, 14, 21 days, and to the soil every 3, 7, 14, 21 days. The results of the experiment showed that there was no effect of coconut water application in different methods and intervals on shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot root ratio and leaf area of cocoa seedling, therefore coconut water can be used as an alternative source of nutrition for cocoa seedlings.

Abstract

Pembibitan merupakan salah satu tahapan penting yang akan menentukan tingkat pertumbuhandan perkembangan tanaman kelapa sawit selanjutnya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan perhatian yangberfokus pada penyediaan unsur hara bagi bibit kelapa sawit yang cukup baik secara kualitas maupunkuantitas. Dilakukan percobaan terkait hal ini yang dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan CiparanjeFakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran Kecamatan Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Baratdengan ketinggian tempat 732 meter di atas permukaan laut. Metode yang digunakan dalam percobaanini adalalah percobaan lapangan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari tujuhperlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan meliputi: A = 10 g pupuk NPK, B = 1 kg pupuk kascing, C = 1kg pupuk kascing + 5 g pupuk NPK, D = 1 kg pupuk kascing + 2.5 g pupuk NPK, E = 2 kg pupukkascing, F = 2 kg pupuk kascing + 5 g pupuk NPK, G = 2 kg pupuk kascing + 2.5 g pupuk NPK. Datayang diperoleh diuji menggunakan SASM, jika hasil pengujiannya signifikan maka dilanjutkan denganUji Jarak Berganda Duncan pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan memberianpupuk kascing pada bibit kelapa sawit mampu mengurangi 50 75% dosis pupuk anorganik denganadanya respons pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit yang cukup baik. Pemberian 1-2 kg pupuk kascing yangdikombinasikan dengan dengan 2.5 5 g pupuk NPK berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan jumlahdan luas daun serta luas kanopi bibit kelapa sawit fase pembibitan utama (main nursery).Kata kunci : bibit kelapa sawit, pupuk kascing, pupuk NPK

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu produsen kelapa terbesar di dunia, namun apabila pemeliharaan tanaman tidak diperhatikan, maka produksi kelapa di Indonesia akan menurun.  Pemupukan sangat diperlukan dalam memelihara tanaman kelapa. Pupuk organik merupakan salah satu pupuk yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi kelapa. Kascing adalah pupuk organik hasil dari dekomposisi bahan organik yang dilakukan oleh cacing. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Ciparanje Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat. Lokasi percobaan berada di ketinggian ± 732 meter di atas permukaan laut. Percobaan ini dimulai pada bulan Maret 2019 sampai Mei 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 7 perlakuan dan diulang 2 kali. Perlakuan yang diuji terdiri dari dosis kascing yang berbeda yaitu 2,5 kg, 5 kg, 7,5kg, 10 kg, 12,5 kg, 15 kg. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan Pemberian pupuk kascing mempengaruhi pertambahan tinggi tanaman, pertambahan lilit batang dan pertambahan jumlah anak daun. Secara umum dosis kascing 15 kg/polibeg memberikan pengaruh yang baik pada pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa belum menghasilkan. Kata Kunci : Kelapa, pertumbuhan, kascing, dosis.

Abstract

AbstrakPemberian pupuk anorganik dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman, tetapi penggunaan secara terus menerus menyebabkan dampak kurang baik bagi tanaman dan lingkungan pertanaman. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan pentingnya penggunaan pupuk organik dalam mengurangi penggunaan pupuk anorganik sebagai salah satu langkah untuk mewujudkan perkebunan kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan biomassa bagian atas bibit kelapa sawit akibat pemberian kompos pelepah kelapa sawit yang dikombinasikan dengan pupuk hayati dan asam humat. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran pada bulan Januari – Juli 2020. Penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan sembilan perlakuan, yaitu (A) 10 g pupuk anorganik, (B) 10 g pupuk hayati, (C) 25 mL asam humat, (D) 800 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 5 g pupuk hayati, (E) 800 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 10 g pupuk hayati, (F) 800 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 25 mL asam humat, (G) 1600 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 5 g pupuk hayati, (H) 1600 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 10 g pupuk hayati, (I) 1600 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit + 25 mL asam humat. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian 1600 g kompos pelepah kelapa sawit yang dikombinasikan dengan 10 g pupuk hayati mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi bibit, lilit batang, dan kandungan klorofil daun berturut-turut sebesar 62,67%, 25,88% dan  24,30% pada enam bulan setelah perlakuan.Kata Kunci: bibit kelapa sawit, kompos pelepah kelapa sawit, pupuk hayati, asam humat AbstractThe application of inorganic fertilizer is able to improve the plant growth, however, its application continuously stimulate negatice impact for both plant and environment. This research relates to the importance of using organic fertilizers in reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers as a step towards realizing sustainable oil palm plantations. This research aimed to determine the growth response of upper biomass of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings due to application of oil palm frond compost, biofertilizer and humic acid. The experiment was conducted at Ciparanje Field of Experiment, Padjadjaran University, from January until July 2020. Experiment design used was randomized block design (RDB) with nine treatments and each treatment was replicated three times. The treatments consisted of (A) 10 g inorganic fertilizer, (B) 10 g biofertilizer, (C) 25 mL humic acid, (D) 800 g oil palm frond compost and 5 g biofertilizer, (E) 800 g oil palm frond compost and 10 g biofertilizer, (F) 800 g oil palm frond compost and 25 mL humic acid, (G) 1600 g oil palm frond compost and 5 g biofertilizer, (H) 1600 g oil palm frond compost and 10 g biofertilizer, (I) 1600 g oil palm frond compost and 25 mL humic acid. The results of this research showed that combination of 1600 g oil palm frond compost and 10 g biofertilizer was able to increase plant height up to 62.67 %, the stem diameter up to 25.95 % and increased chlorophyll content up to 24.30 % at 6 months after treatment.Keywords: oil palm seedling, oil palm frond compost, biofertilizer, humic acid

Abstract

Bibit batang bawah dengan karakteristik yang baik sebagai komponen dalam perbanyakan kemiri sunan secara grafting dipengaruhi oleh media tanam pembibitan. Ketersediaan topsoil sebagai media tanam pembibitan semakin menipis sehingga diharapkan campuran subsoil dan biochar dapat menjadi alternatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons bibit batang bawah kemiri sunan terhadap campuran media tanam subsoil dan biochar sebagai alternatif media tanam pembibitan. Percobaan dilakukan di Rumah Percobaan Laboratorium Kultur Terkendali Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 9 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Perlakuan campuran media tanam subsoil dan biochar terdiri dari 2 jenis biochar, yaitu biochar sekam padi dan biochar tempurung kelapa. Biochar diaplikasikan pada 3 taraf dosis: 25 g/polibag, 50 g/polibag, dan 75 g/polibag. Campuran media tanam subsoil dan biochar sekam padi dengan dosis 50 g/polibag menunjukkan respon bibit batang bawah kemiri sunan yang cenderung baik pada terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, dan jumlah daun.
