Abstract

Hospital customer complaints must be responded with good complaint management and assisted with e-complaint applications. As a hospital that has applied e-complaint applications for two years, there has never been an evaluation of complaint management using this e-complaint application at the hospital both in terms of the time of complaint completion and quality improvement of hospital services. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of an e-complaint system for managing customer complaint at one of the type-C private hospitals in Central Java using the HOT FIT approach. This study was qualitative research with an exploratory case study design through in-depth interviews using HOT FIT variables, such as Human, Organization, Technology, and Net Benefit. This study involves 8 main informants and 3 triangulation informants. This study showed that organizational aspects play an important role in encouraging people to the successful implementation of technology. Organizational problems can influence time to resolve complaints due to weak monitoring conducted by superiors who can also relate to the use of complaints data as input for quality improvement. Without the support of organizational commitment to run the technology-based system, the benefits of the system will not be obtained to support complaint management. It is recommended for hospitals to optimize organizational functions for the system and encourage staffs so that they achieve the benefits of the system for the organization's performance.

Abstract

The evolution of the outpatient referral system for BPJSK participants has transitioned from a manual-based system to an online-based approach. The present discourse examines the use of online referrals in patient care under NHI programme in Indonesia. The literature search conducted in this systematic review adheres to the PRISMA methodology and utilises the Google Scholar and PubMed databases. Using online referral in the context of NHI patients is a topic of interest. A total of six papers underwent a systematic evaluation. The assessment of the utilization of online referrals was conducted by evaluating patient satisfaction and the effectiveness of NHI project. The satisfaction of NHI patients concerning time certainty, referral certainty, waiting time, service access, service quality, service process, and service system is influenced by the utilization of online referrals. The practicality of the online referral strategy can be assessed through its impact on programme understanding, targeting precision, goal achievement, and tangible changes. The urgency of online referrals could be more persuasive. In order to enhance the efficiency of waiting time, it is imperative to implement supportive measures, such as the utilization of online queues and streamlining the process of online referrals in primary healthcare settings and hospitals

Abstract

Incident reporting systems are designed to obtain patient safety information that is used for organizational and individual learning. Currently, the recording of patient safety incident reports has been facilitated by the ministry of health through the implementation of the quality of health facilities, especially for incidents with unexpected events (KTD) or sentinels. Incident recording in hospitals is still very weak, so incident data cannot be analyzed properly and correctly to improve the quality of hospital services. This study aims to design an Integrated Patient Safety Incident Reporting Information System (SIPIKAT). The design of SIPIKAT uses the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with the Framework for the Application of System Techniques (FAST). In-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) were conducted to obtain the necessary data. This web-based SIPIKAT is designed using PHP 5.6 and Javas-script, MySQL database, and Apache webserver. SIPIKAT integration with Hospital Information System (SIMRS) via web service to retrieve patient identity data including name; date of birth and medical record number. The output is in the form of incident report information and risk grading to be followed up. Conclusion SIPIKAT Research is easy to use and generates information on risk aggregation required for follow-up.
