Abstract

Sidomulyo Village, located in Silo District, Jember Regency, is an area with significant tourism potential due to its proximity to the largest coffee plantation in Jember. The village offers various attractions, including Sendang Natural Tourism, wooden houses, a cycling track overlooking Mount Kumitir, and opportunities for milk and coffee farming, positioning it as a prospective tourist village. However, despite these natural advantages, the village faces economic challenges due to the high number of returning migrant workers with limited employment opportunities. This study aims to explore community empowerment through skill development, particularly in ecoprint craft production, as an alternative economic opportunity. The participatory approach involved training sessions on ecoprint techniques, utilizing abundant natural materials such as leaves, flowers, and tree bark. Additionally, business mentoring and assistance were provided to help participants develop small enterprises and increase their income. The results indicate a significant improvement in skills, with 85% of participants demonstrating proficiency in ecoprint techniques and a readiness to start entrepreneurial ventures. The initiative was further supported by local government efforts, including internet access for digital marketing and business mentoring programs. Despite these positive outcomes, the study faced challenges such as limited initial knowledge among participants, the need for continuous mentoring, and market access constraints for eco-friendly products. Addressing these challenges requires sustained support, including stronger partnerships with stakeholders and expanded marketing strategies. This study highlights the importance of skill-based empowerment as a strategy for economic resilience in rural communities.

Abstract

Abstract

The biomass fermentation system is used to produce bioethanol from organic basic materials with the help of microorganisms. The bioethanol production process produced ethanol concentration with Saccharomyces Cerevisiae in this study using experimental methods by implementing a monitoring system using ESP32, cloud service data logger, pH sensor, MQ-2 sensor and temperature sensor. The test dataset is stored in the next data logger cloud service used for the process of classifying fermentation results. The real-time data logger from the monitoring system has not been able to detect the parameters that categorize the concentration of fermentation products have been declared successful, so the user must analyze the data and carry out periodic checks to ensure the success of the fermentation process. The results of the SVM test show that the level of accuracy in the classification of bioethanol fermentation production shows satisfactory results, namely 99.79% using a linear kernel with training data of 60% and testing data of 40%, while the lowest accuracy using the RBF kernel is 95.85 with 80% training data and 20% testing data.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of automotive knowledge on public interest in switching to hybrid motorcycles. The research is motivated by the growing need for low-emission vehicles and the importance of consumer understanding in the adoption of hybrid technology. A quantitative research method was employed by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents using an incidental sampling technique. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, and the collected data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, Spearman Rank correlation, and the Mann–Whitney U-Test. The results indicate a strong and significant relationship between automotive knowledge and interest in hybrid motorcycles (ρ = 0.761; Sig. = 0.000). However, no significant difference in interest was found between respondents with high and low levels of automotive knowledge (Sig. = 0.554). Thus, automotive knowledge does not have a significant effect on public interest. These findings suggest that the decision to adopt hybrid vehicles is influenced more strongly by other factors, such as perceived usefulness, affordability, and infrastructure readiness.

Abstract

This study investigates the fuel flow rate and engine rotational speed characteristics of a plug-in hybrid electric motorcycle using a Hybrid Control System Module Modification Combination Management (HCS-MCM) framework. The proposed system is designed for conversion-based applications at the workshop level, addressing the gap between advanced hybrid control strategies and practical implementation. A parallel hybrid configuration was adopted, integrating an internal combustion engine (ICE) and a 3 kW electric motor with a gear-dependent control strategy. Experimental testing was conducted under first and second gear conditions by analyzing the relationship between vehicle speed, engine speed (RPM), and the time required to consume 5 ml of fuel. The results show that the hybrid system consistently produces longer fuel consumption times compared to the conventional system, indicating improved fuel efficiency. The most significant improvement occurs in first gear, where the electric motor provides dominant torque assistance at low speeds, reducing the load on the ICE. In second gear, the hybrid system still demonstrates better efficiency; however, the performance gap decreases as the ICE becomes more dominant at higher speeds. These findings confirm that the proposed HCS-MCM framework effectively enhances fuel efficiency, acceleration performance, and energy utilization. The study contributes to the development of practical hybrid control systems for motorcycle conversion, particularly for small-scale workshop applications in developing countries.
