Abstract

This research aims to develop and validate an e-module based on the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model to facilitate students' critical thinking skills on energy crisis materials. The research uses the ADDIE development model, which is limited to the formative evaluation stage, including needs analysis, design, development, and readability and practicality tests. The results of expert validation show that the e-module is in the "quite valid" category with an average of 83.2%. The readability test obtained results of 89.25% from students and 88.4% from teachers (outstanding category), while the practicality test by teachers reached 91.67% (convenient category). The results of the Fleiss’ Kappa test showed a “moderate” level of agreement on the SSCS syntax (0.50) and the critical thinking indicator (0.57). The e-module also features interactive features such as learning videos and contextual educational games. These findings indicate that SSCS-based e-modules are suitable for use as science learning media to encourage the strengthening of students’ critical thinking skills independently and contextually. The implications of this research suggest that integrating the SSCS model into digital learning media can enhance students’ engagement and reflective thinking, and it provides a foundation for future experimental studies to measure its effectiveness in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

Science learning contains several subjects, one of which is the material of the earth and its satellites. Some students find this material difficult to understand because the material is abstract, which will affect their low cognitive learning outcomes. The purpose this research to produce an interactive learning media which is valid, feasible, effective in improving student cognitive learning outcomes on the material of the earth and its satellites through the genially platform. This research and development with 4D development stages of Thiagarajan. The results media, material, and question validation tests obtained an average 88.75%, 89.75%, 89.5% so very valid. The results teacher and student readability test obtained average 95% and 88.33% so very feasible. The results of effectiveness test using the t test obtained a significance value of 0.000 so that significant difference between pretest average and posttest average, the results N-gain analysis obtained a score of 0.56 so learning media effective improving the learning outcomes of students with a moderate category. The results student response obtained average 91.42% so very good response. Based on validation, readability, effectiveness, the interactive learning media is declared valid, feasible, effective improving student cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that focuses on the problem of scientific literacy skills. The purpose of this study is to apply the Discovery Learning learning model with the Teaching at The Right Level approach to improve students' scientific literacy skills. The subjects of the study were 28 students of class VIII C of SMP Negeri 2 Pakis on vibration and wave material. The data collection technique was through learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests, and supported by learning documentation. This research method is one cycle with the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data analysis was carried out to determine the increase in students' scientific literacy using the n-gain formula. The results of the study showed an increase in students' scientific literacy skills, with a pretest score of 50.35 increasing to 67.67 on the posttest after being given treatment. The results of the n-gain of students' scientific literacy showed a value of 0.34 which is classified as a moderate category. The aspect of scientific literacy with the highest value is the interpretation of data and facts/evidence scientifically, which has an n-gain of 0.5 and is classified as moderate. It is concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning learning model through the TaRL approach is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills in science subjects.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to improve the collaboration skills of class VIII students by implementing snake and ladder game using approach Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL). The problem raised from this research is the low collaboration skills of students during the group learning process, especially in science subjects. The research method used is one cycle PTK with qualitative data analysis from the results of observations and questionnaires. The research subjects used were 28 class VIII D students of SMPN 2 Pakis Malang Regency who were grouped based on their level of cognitive ability. The results obtained from this research show that collaboration skills have improved with its implementation snake and ladder game using the TaRL approach, namely the good category for indicators of mutual assistance, while the improvement with the very good category is for indicators of communication, division of tasks, decision making, respect for opinions and responsibility. Thus, students in this learning activity can improve collaboration skills and build a positive work culture within the group.
