Abstract

Carrot (Daucus carota L.) is a plant which used as traditional medicine and one of its benefits isas diuretic. The research was aimed to find out diuretic effect of Carrot juice and relationship ofthe increases of Carrot juice (Daucus carota L.) concentration on white male mice strain Wistar(Rattus norvegicus). Fifteen mices were divided into five group of treatment, namely negativecontrol group (CMC 1% suspension), positive control group (furosemid suspension), 15%suspension of carrot juice group, 30% suspension of carrot juice group and 60% suspension ofCarrot juice group.The test of diuretic effect were conducted by calculate volume of excretedurine during 24 hours treatment. Data were analyzed using spss ver.19. The differences betweentreatments were analyzed using one way ANOVA.The result shows that suspension of Carrotjuice treatment increase urine volume. The increases of juice concentration shows better effect.Based on result, it can be concluded that Carrot juice possess diuretic effect (p<0,05), and thereare correlation between concentrations of Carrot juice to the increasing of urinevolume.Keywords : Carrot juice, diuretic effect, Rattus norvegicus

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kumis Kucing Leaves (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq.) contains flavonoid compounds that has antioxidants activity that inhibits the action of the enzyme xanthine oxidase with reduced uric acid as result. This research is done to find out the effects antihyperuricemia ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leaves on male white rat (Rattus norvegicus). 15 rats were used in this research and there were 5 treatment groups that is negative control (NACMC 1%), positive control (Allopurinol) 1,8 mg, and Kumis Kucing leaves extract group with dosage of 4,5 mg, 9 mg, 18 mg. The result of this research showed a decrease on uric acid value after ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leave were given. The next result of this research used ANOVA test and LSD test, that showed the ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leave had Antihyperuricemia activity on male white rat.Keywords:  Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume.) Miq., Antihyperuricemia, Rattus norvegicus.   ABSTRAK Daun kumis kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang dapat menghambat kerja enzim xantin oksidase sehingga pembentukan asam urat berkurang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek antihiperurisemia ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing, terhadap tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian ini menggunakan 15 ekor tikus dan terdapat 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol negatif (NaCMC 1%), kontrol positif (Allopurinol) 1,8 mg, dan kelompok ekstrak daun kumis kucing dengan dosis 4,5 mg, 9 mg, 18 mg. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai asam urat mengalami penurunan setelah diberikan ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD, menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing memiliki aktivitas antihiperurisemia terhadap tikus putih jantan. Kata kunci: Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume.) Abstract

ABSTRACTHyperglicemia is condition where blood sugar levels surge or excessive, which will eventually become a disease called Diabetes Mellitus (DM). One of the plants that can be used for antidiabetic activity or to repair pancreatic β cells is jarak pagar. The study conducted using 15 rats induced with 3 mL of 60% glucosa. Animals then divided into 5 groups, Metformin(10.557 mg), Na-CMC, 125 mg/kg BW, 250 mg/kg BW and 375 mg/kg BW of ethanol extract of jarak pagar leaves. The results showed the percentage value of decrease in blood sugar D1 (19.46%), D2 (15.91%), D3 (53.17%) and the positive group (Metformin) (10.24%). Conclusion: the extract group dose 375 mg/kgBW can reduce blood sugar levels better that the group given extracts dose D1 and D2.  Keywords: Jarak Pagar Leaves (Jatropha curcas L.), Ethanol Extract, Antihyperglycemia, Diabetes.  ABSTRAKHiperglikemia adalah keadaan dimana kadar gula darah melebihi nilai normal dan merupakan salah satu indikasi pada penyakit Diabetes Melitus. Salah satu tumbuhan yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk aktifitas antidiabetes atau memperbaiki sel β pankreas adalah jarak  pagar. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun jarak pagar dalam menurunkan kadar gula darah tikus putih jantan. Penelitian menggunakan hewan uji sebanyak 15 ekor untuk diinduksikan dengan glukosa 60% sebanyak 3 mL/ekor. Hewan uji kemudian dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, kelompok positif, kelompok negatif, dosis 125 mg/kgBB, dosis 250 mg/kgBB, dan dosis 375 mg/kgBB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai persentase penurunan gula darah D1 (19.46%), D2 (15.91%), D3 (53.17%) dan kelompok positif (Metformin) (10.24%). Kesimpulan: kelompok ekstrak dosis 375 mg/kgBB dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok yang diberikan ekstrak dosis D1 dan D2. Kata kunci :    Daun Jarak Pagar (Jatropha Curcas L.) , Ekstrak Etanol, Antihiperglikemia, Diabetes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Gotu Kola Leaf (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) are known to contain flavonoid compound, and flavonoid are known to decrease blood glucose level by stimulating pancreas beta cells to produce insulin. The aim of this research is to find out wether the ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) has the antidiabetic effectiveness or not. This research used Completely Randomized Design method. There were 15 rats used in this research that were split into 5 groups that is negative control (Aquadest), positive control (Metformin), and ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf with the dosage of 5.4 mg;10.8 mg;21.6 mg. The acquired data were analyzed with ANOVA test and LSD test. The analysis result showed that ethanol extract of gotu kola leaf had antidiabetic effectiveness against male white rat. Keywords:  Centella asiatica (L.) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun pegagan memiliki efekivitas antidiabetes. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Tikus yang digunakan sebanyak 15 ekor dan dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (aquadest), kontrol positif (metformin), dan ekstrak etanol daun pegagan dengan dosis 5,4 mg; 10,8 mg; 21,6 mg. Data yang ada dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD. Hasil analisis menujukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun pegagan memiliki efektivitas antidiabetes terhadap tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Kata kunci: Centella asiatica (L.) Abstract

ABSTRACTGreen betel leaves are one of the native plants in Indonesia which are widespread in Manado, North Sulawesi. In green betel leaves plants, there are tannin compounds that can inhibit enzymes and interfere with the digestive metabolic processes of worms which can cause the death of worms. This study aims to determine the effect of green betel leaves ethanol extract on Ascaris lumbricoides worms. This research is a laboratory experiment with The post-test only with controlled group design. The tests used the betel leaves ethanol extract with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% respectively. Worms was observed for 12 hours with intervals of 3 hours. The number of worm deaths was recorded every 3 hours and further, it was analysed with using the Kruskal Wallis test and it was continued with using the Mann Whitney test. Result showed that extract at concentration of 5% the number of worm deaths was 4 worms, a concentration of 10% was 7 worms, and at a concentration of 15% 9 worms. The statistical results showed that there was no significant difference between the number of worm deaths in the treatment group and negative control at p <0.05. The concentrations of 10 and 15 showed no significant difference with the positive control. It can be concluded that concentrations of 10% and 15% have the same anthelmintic activity but the best concentration is at a concentration of 10%. Keywords: Anthelmintic, Piper betle L., Ascaris lumbricoides   ABSTRAKDaun sirih hijau merupakan salah satu tanaman asli di Indonesia yang tersebar luas di kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Pada tumbuhan daun sirih hijau terdapat senyawa tanin yang mampu menghambat kerja enzim dan mengganggu proses metabolisme pencernaan pada cacing yang dapat menyebabkan kematian cacing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau terhadap cacing Ascaris lumbricoides. Penelitian ini ialah eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan penelitian The post-test only with controlled group design. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan ekstrak etanol daun sirih dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Aktivitas cacing diamati selama 12 jam dengan interval waktu 3 jam. Jumlah cacing yang mati dicatat setiap 3 jam dan selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan pada konsentrasi 5% jumlah kematian cacing sebanyak 4 ekor, konsentrasi 10% sebanyak 7 ekor dan pada konsentrasi 15% sebanyak 9 ekor. Hasil statistik menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara jumlah kematian cacing pada kelompok perlakuan dengan kontrol negatif pada p<0.05. Konsentrasi 10 dan 15 menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dengan kontrol positif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada konsentrasi 10% dan 15% memiliki aktivitas antelmintik yang sama namun konsentrasi yang paling baik terdapat pada konsentrasi 10%. Kata kunci: Antelmintik, Piper betle L., Ascaris lumbricoides

Abstract

ABSTRACTBay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Walp) and herbs (Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth) are known to contain flavonoids, where flavonoids have been known to have the ability to inhibit the ksantin oxidase, which causes uric acid levels in the blood to drop. This study used a completely randomized design method. This study aims to determine whether the combined ethanol extract of bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Walp) and suruhan (Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth) has antihyperuricemic activity. There were 15 rats used and divided into 5 groups, namely negative control (CMC 1%), positive control (Allopurinol), and ethanol extracts of bay leaves and herbs with a dose of 50 m, 100 mg, 200 mg. Existing data were analyzed using the ANOVA test and LSD test. The analysis showed that the combined ethanol extract of bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Tikus yang digunakan sebanyak 15 ekor dan dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (CMC 1%), kontrol positif (Allopurinol), dan ekstrak etanol daun salam dan tumbuhan suruhan dengan dosis 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg. Data yang ada dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol kombinasi daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Abstract

ABSTRACTPapaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) contain flavonoids and tannins which have anti-inflammatory actuvuty. This study aims to determined antiinflamatory activity of papaya leaves extract using caragenan induce paw edema. The test was carried out on 5 groups of animals, namely, the negative control group was given 1% CMC suspension, the positive control group was given sodium diclofenac 0,9mg / 200gBB and the test group was given a papaya leaf ethanol extract suspension at a dose of 9mg / 200gBB, 13,5mg / 200gBB, and 18mg /200gBB. The results showed that all extract doses were able to inhibit edema, respectively 92.13%, 100%, 89% in volume measurements and 96,66%, 100%, 93,49% in diameter measurements and significantly different from negative control (ρ ≤0.05). It can be concluded that the extract dose of 13,5 mg / 200gBW provided the best inhibition of edema and was not significantly different from the positive control (ρ≥0.05). Keywords: Carica papaya L., Anti-inflammatory, Inflammatory Volume, Inflammation Diameter.   ABSTRAKDaun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan tanin yang berkhasiat sebagai antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas ekstrak etanol daun pepaya sebagai antiinflamasi. Aktivitas antiinflamasi dilakukan dengan metode induksi edema pada telapak kaki tikus menggunakan karagenan 1%. Pengujian dilakukan pada 5 kelompok hewan yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif diberi suspensi CMC 1%, kelompok kontrol positif diberi natrium diklofenak 0,9mg/200gBB dan kelompok uji diberikan suspensi ekstrak etanol daun pepaya dengan dosis 9mg/200gBB, 13,5mg/200gBB dan 18mg/200gBB. Hasil penelitian menunjukan semua dosis ekstrak mampu menghambat edema berturut-turut sebesar 92,13%, 100%, 89% pada pengukuran volume dan 96,66%, 100%, 93,49% pada pengukuran diameter dan berbeda signifikan dengan kontrol negatif (ρ≤0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak dosis 13,5mg/200gBB memberikan penghambatan edema paling baik serta tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan kontrol positi (ρ≥0,05). Kata kunci: Carica papaya L., Antiiflamasi, Volume Radang, Diameter Radang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGedi (Abelmoschus manihot L.) is a plant used as traditional medicine by the people of North Sulawesi. Gedi leaves contain flavonoid which has analgesic effects. This study aims to determine the analgesic effect of the ethanol extract of Gedi leaves (Abelmoschus manihot L.) in Wistar male white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Analgesic testing was conducted on Wistar male white rats using the heat pain method by observing the response of the rats such as jumping and licking their legs when the heat stimulation was given. This study using 15 Wistar male white rats which is divided into 5 treatment groups, the negative control group (CMC), the positive control group (mefenamic acid dose 9mg). The results showed that the group doses of 100 mg / KgBB, 200 mg / KgBB and 300 mg / KgBB showed a better response to induction than the negative control group. Statistical tests using One Way ANOVA and LSD showed that the gedi leaves extract given to male white rats at a dose of 100 mg / KgBB, 200 mg / KgBB and 300 mg / KgBB has an analgesic effect. Keywords: Analgesics, Gedi Leaves (Abelmoschus manihot L.), Heat Pain Induction   ABSTRAKGedi (Abelmoschus manihot L.), merupakan tanaman yang  digunakan sebagai obat tradisional oleh masyarakat Sulawesi Utara. Daun tanaman ini diketahui memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang memiliki efek analgesik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya efek analgesik ekstrak etanol daun gedi (Abelmoschus manihot L.) pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus). Pengujian analgesik dilakukan pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar dengan metode nyeri panas dilakukan dengan melihat respon tikus berupa melompat dan menjilat kaki saat diberi rangsangan panas. Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus dibagi 5 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (CMC), kelompok kontrol positif (dosis asam mefenamat 9mg), dan kelompok ekstrak etanol daun gedi dosis 100 mg/KgBB, 200 mg/KgBB, 300 mg/KgBB. Respon tikus diamati sebelum pemberian bahan uji dan setelah pemberian bahan uji pada menit ke 30, 60, 90, 120. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelompok dosis 100 mg/KgBB, 200 mg/KgBB, 300 mg/KgBB menunjukkan aktivitas/respon terhadap induksi lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol negatif. Uji statistik menggunakan One Way ANOVA dan LSD menunjukan bahwa ekstrak daun gedi yang diberikan pada tikus putih jantan dengan dosis 100 mg/KgBB, 200 mg/KgBB, 300 mg/KgBB memiliki efek analgesik.Kata kunci: Analgesik, Daun Gedi (Abelmoschus manihot L.), Induksi Nyeri Panas.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGedi (Abelmoschus manihot L. Medik) has been know as food that can consume by people in North Sulawesi. The purpose of this study is determine the antihyperglycemic effect of the ethanol extract of red gedi leaves on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain induced by alloxan. Animals was devided into 5 groups, namely negative control and metformin as positive control and ethanol extract of red gedi leaves with doses of 150 mg/kgBW, 300 mg/kgBW, and 600 mg/kg of body weight, each group was given alloxan i.p. Blood glucose was measurements on day 0 (three days after induction), day 7 and day 14. The results showed group that treat with red gedi leaves extract could reduce blood glucose levels. The dose of 150 mg/kgBW had a decreased percentage of blood glucose on day 7 and day 14 of 15.48% and 74.84%, respectively. Doses of 300 mg/kgBW had a decreased percentage of blood glucose on day 7 and day 14 of 33.64% and 70.5%, respectively. The dose of 600 mg/kgBW had a decreased percentage of blood glucose on day 7 and day 14 of 27.11% and 71.93%, respectively. Statistical analysis shows that the dosage of 300 mg/kg body weight has a significant difference with the dosage of 150 mg/kgBW and 600 mg/kgBW. Medik) telah lama dikenal masyarakat Sulawesi Utara sebagai tanaman pangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek antihiperglikemik ekstrak etanol daun gedi merah pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur wistar yang diinduksi aloksan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol negatif dan metformin sebagai kontrol positif dan ekstrak etanol daun gedi merah dengan dosis 150 mg/kgBB, 300 mg/kgBB, dan 600 mg/kgBB, setiap kelompok diberikan alloksan. Pengukuran glukosa darah dilakukan pada hari ke-0 (tiga hari sesudah diinduksi), hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun gedi merah dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Dosis 150 mg/kgBB memiliki presentase penurunan glukosa darah pada hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14 masing-masing sebesar 15,48 % dan 74,84 %. Dosis 300 mg/kgBB memiliki presentase penurunan glukosa darah pada hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14 masing-masing sebesar 33,64 % dan 70,5 %. Dosis 600 mg/kgBB memiliki presentase penurunan glukosa darah pada hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14 masing-masing sebesar 27,11 % dan 71,93 %. Analisis statistik menunjukan dosis 300 mg/kgBB memiliki perbedaan signifikan dengan dosis 150 mg/kgBB dan 600 mg/kgBB. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dosis 300 mg/kgBB memiliki aktivitas antihiperglikemik yang paling baik. Kata Kunci: Antihiperglikemik, Daun Gedi Merah, Alloksan, Tikus Putih

Abstract

Prescription can reduce the administrative / prevent dangerous medication errors, withadverse effects on patients by the drugs used during the management of health care. This studyis aimed to evaluate the administrative prescriptions by examining the possibility of medicationerrors by a Pediatricians at three pharmacies in the city of Manado. This is a descriptive studyconducted a retrospective review of patient prescriptions. The method of sampling took randomreceipts using the Slovin formula. 12,225 receipts was vised in the three pharmacy and found338 sheets sample of prescription from period of January to December 2011 then processed andevaluated administrative completeness. Administrative completeness prescription written by apediatrician at the Manado City Permit Practice (11.37%), Address patients (53.7%), Gender(0%), weight loss (27.5%), Age (78 , 3%), date prescription (98.4%) and to mark the R /, DoctorName, Address Doctor, Initials Doctor, Patient Name, Drug Name, Dosage, Number of Drugs,How to use a clear (100%).
