Abstract

The research was conducted at BBI Pekanbaru. Address, Jl. KaharudinNasution, MarpoyanDamai, Pekanbaru City, Riau. This research was conducted from May to August 2021. This study consisted of five doses of sludge fertilizer using three replications and using a randomized block design. The treatments given were various doses of mud consisting of 3 doses, namely: S0= 0 t.ha-1 (0 kg per plot), S1= 10 t.ha-1 (3 kg per plot), S2= 20 t .ha-1 (6 kg per plot). Parameters observed number of productive tillers, the number of grainy grain, dry grain weight per plot, weight of 1.000 grains of pithy grain. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) then further tested with Duncan's multiple distance test at a level of 5% using the Satker application system (SAS). The results showed that the application of PKS sludge compost fertilizer had an effect on the maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, number of pithy grain per panicle, and the weight of dry milled grain per plot with the best PKS sludge compost fertilizer at a dose of 20 ton.ha-1. Based on the research results obtained, To obtain the best lowland rice cultivation, it is recommended to use compost from palm oil waste (sludge) with the SRI method at a dose of 20 ton.ha-1.Keyworsd: sludge, doses, rice plant

Abstract

Lahan gambut memiliki karakteristik tanah dengan keasaman tinggi dan tingkat kesuburan yang rendah. Beberapa tanaman yang cocok dibudidayakan di lahan gambut yaitu tanaman perkebunan Akasia, namun kurangnya nutrisi pada lahan gambut juga menyebabkan kondisi shrubby pada akasia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian pupuk Zincobor dan kombinasi Zincobor + Dolomit terhadap kelurusan batang dan tinggi tanaman akasia. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan nested design dengan lima ulangan dan empat perlakuan, yaitu kontrol, zincobor 20 g, zincobor 20 g + dolomit 250 g, dan zincobor 30 g. Pemberian pupuk dilakukan 1x dan dilakukan pengamatan pada hari ke – 0, 131, 355 setelah pengaplikasian pupuk. Uji kualitas tanah berdasarkan pH, tanah gambut memiliki pH yang rendah yaitu 3,41 – 3,7. Selain itu kandungan unsur mikro seperti Zink, Cu, dan Boron termasuk rendah. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, pemberian pupuk Zincobor dengan dosis 20 g menunjukkan nilai kelurusan yang diharapkan paling tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Zincobor 20 g juga mampu meningkatkan ketinggian tanaman Akasia dan menurunkan potensi shrubby pada tanaman. Penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa Zincobor 20 g merupakan dosis pupuk Zincobor yang optimum untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman akasia.

Abstract

Lowland rice is a commodity crop that is very influential in the survival of many people, especially inhabitants in most Asian countries, especially Indonesia. Rice is the staple food of Indonesian people, the shortage of which can result in complications for the country. In connection with this food security issue, it is necessary to make efforts to prevent food shortages. The national production capacity of rice must be increased. The long-term goal is to increase the productivity of rice plants to support Indonesia towards rice self-sufficiency. This study has a short-term objective, namely, to determine the effect of potassium fertilizer and to obtain the best dose on the growth and production of rice plants. This was a factorial experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors: the KCl fertilizer dosage and the frequency of fertilizer application. The results showed that the best treatment was with a potassium fertilizer dosage of 150 kg ha-1 with a frequency of 2-time fertilizer application.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase rice production in the dry land of ultisol such as in Riau is extensification. To alter low nutrient availability in ultisol, liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from waste of banana corm and NPK fertilizers are evaluated. Research aimed to obtain the best dose of LOF and NPK fertilizers to improve the productivity of upland rice on ultisols. This experiment was arranged in a completely randomized factorial design consisting of two factors. The first factor was LOF from banana corm (0 mL, 50 mL, 100 mL, and 150 mL per polybag). The second factor was NPK fertilizers (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100% recommendation dose); the recommendation base was: 300 kg Urea, 100 kg TSP, and 100 kg KCl ha-1. The results indicated that the application of 150 mL LOF per polybag and NPK fertilizers at 100% recommendation significantly enhances plant height, number of tiller numbers, productive tiller, filled grain per panicle, and dry grain weight of Inpago 9 variety. Abstract

Gold snail (Pomacea canaliculata L.) is the main pest of rice plants in Empat Balai Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency. Farmers in Empat Balai Village experience gold snail infestation every year, which has an impact on production. The purpose of community service activities is to conduct community service by counseling and controlling carp pests in rice fields by utilizing local wisdom in Empat Balai Village. The methods in this service are survey, consolidation, counseling and field practice. The counseling was held at Mushallah Miftahul Jannah in Pulau Empat Hamlet, while the field practice was at the farmer’s house and rice fields in Empat Balai Village. The material provided was about bioecology and how to control the carp snail pest. It was emphasized that the recommended control carp pests are the management of carp pests in the egg phase, because one group of eggs has 500 eggs and control is easier in the egg phase. Control in the egg phase includes making drainage or small ditches, installing bamboo stakes so that the snails lay their eggs there, and collecting the eggs once a week. In the snail phase, involves setting up attractant plant traps (gadung tuber leaf, papaya leaf, and banana leaf), kalambuai traps (kaltrap), installing of irrigated nets, utilizing ducks, and vegetable molluscicides. In addition, preventive measure was taken, such as planting older seedlings. The farmers were very enthusiastic about this activity. As a result, farmers gained additional knowledge about gold snail pests and how to control them, improve farmers skills on gold snail pests control methods by utilizing local wisdom.

Abstract

Mikania micrantha is a weed that is commonly found on agricultural land. Environmentally friendly weed control can be done using bioherbicides because the materials used come from nature. Terminalia catappa contains secondary metabolites so that its bioactive compounds can be used as weed control. This study aims to determine the total secondary metabolite compounds of Terminalia catappa leaves and their effect on Mikania micrantha seed germination. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor is various types of solvents aquadest, ethanol and methanol. The second factor was the concentration of the extract application 30%, 50%, 70% and repeated 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance if it had a significant effect, further tests were carried out using 5% BNJ. The results showed that the Terminalia catappa leaf extract with distilled aquadest of 70% was able to prevent the seeds from germinating while the methanol and ethanol solvent extracts were able to inhibit the germination of Mikania micrantha seeds at an application concentration of 30%.

Abstract

Tanaman padi merupakan komoditi utama di Desa Empat Balai. Pada tahun 2022, dilaporkan serangan tikus sawah menyerang padi sawah di Kecamatan Kuok hingga menyebabkan kerusakan seluas 1 – 4 ha. Solusi permasalah­an ini adalah dilakukannya program pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberi­kan penyuluhan dan praktik pengendalian hama tikus terpadu dengan kearifan lokal oleh tim KKN Universitas Riau. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah me­lakukan penyuluhan, meluruskan pemahaman petani, melakukan pengen­dal­ian hama tikus dengan memanfaatkan kearifan lokal. Metode yang diguna­­kan meliputi survei, konsolidasi, penyuluhan, dan praktik lapangan. Kegiatan penyuluhan menjelaskan bioekologi tikus dan pengendalian yang tepat untuk mengatasi permasalahan serangan hama tikus. Kegiatan praktik lapangan meliputi teknik gropyokan, pengaplikasian emposan, dan pema­sang­an perangkap bambu. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil dilaksanakan dengan lancar dengan melibatkan petani yang responsif. Hasil kegiatan penyuluhan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan petani dalam pengendalian hama tikus kisaran 55-60%.

Abstract

Rebon Udang (Acetes sp.) Adalah salah satu produk perikanan laut yang pada musim-musim tertentu produksinya cukup melimpah di Desa Sialang Pasung Kecamatan Ransang Barat Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti. Upaya untuk meningkatkan harga dan mengoptimalkan penggunaan udang rebon adalah melalui diversifikasi produk seperti bakso (bakso) dan nugget. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat lokal dan nelayan di Desa Sialang Pasung dalam menggunakan udang rebon sebagai bahan baku dalam produksi bakso dan nugget. Peserta kegiatan adalah nelayan dan istri setempat dan istri rumah lainnya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam tiga langkah: (1) persiapan, (2) ceramah dan diskusi dan (3) demonstrasi praktis dalam mempersiapkan bakso dan nugget dengan menggunakan udang rebon sebagai bahan baku. Peserta sangat aktif selama perkuliahan dan kerja praktek, baik dari tanggapan dan diskusi mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat sangat berharga, terutama untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat lokal dan konsumsi produk perikanan. Semoga kegiatan ini dapat memotivasi komunitas lokal lain dan komunitas lain di desa-desa lain di sekitarnya.
