Abstract

Evaluation tools used in schools were still classified as conventional so that they had weaknesses, including the old assessment process and during the evaluation activities were less effective. Therefore, it needed an interactive evaluation tool and habituation for students in Computer-Based National Exam. The purpose of this research was to produce evaluation tool based on wondershare quiz creator for class XI on material about colloid in SMA Koperasi Pontianak. This development research used the Borg & Gall model. The research instruments used were validation sheet, response questionnaire, and test of learning result. The results of the validity of the material and media experts showed the percentage of each valuation of 83.98% and 90.69%. Practical results in initial and main field trials showed the percentage of each valuation of 79.07% and 86.24%. Results of effectiveness in initial and main field trials showed the percentage of each valuation of 83.3% and 85%. Item discrimination power of the initial and main field tests was not found to be a negative category, so no items were discarded, while for the difficulty level of the items on the initial and main field trials was only easy and medium category. Thus evaluation tool based on developed wondershare quiz creator can be declared eligible for using and has a variation of discrimination test items and level of difficulty of test items in the evaluation.Keywords: Evaluation Tool, Colloid Material, Wondershare Quiz Creator

Abstract

BSTRACTThis research had the purpose to find out the differences and influences between the students’ learning outcomes which were taught by using props 3-dimensional atomic model-based learning Think Pair Share (TPS) to the learning outcomes of students in the structure of atoms lecture in class X MAN 2 Filial Pontianak. The sampling technique using sampling saturated with class X IIS as experimental class and class X MIA as the control class. Data collecting techniques using measurement techniques, observation and interviews, data collecting tools are achievement test, and observation sheet. The result showed that the average value posttest experimental class (73.33) was higher than the average value posttest control group (44.22). Statistical analysis Mann Whitney U-test (α = 0.05) p value obtained is 0.00 means that there are significant differences in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Calculations using the effect size indicates the value of ES = 1.47 means the use of props threedimensional atomic model-based learning Think Pair Share (TPS) had much effect on student learning outcomes in the amount of 42.92%.Keywords: Props, Learning Outcomes, Atomic Structure, Think Pair Share

Abstract

The students problem in understanding the electron configurations was caused by the ineffective learning media which is used by the teacher didn’t fit the student’s characteristic. Therefore, it is important to develop media of Lego Chemistry games for electron configurations class. The validation of the media is validated in three aspects. They were validity from the results of the game, practicality from the results of the questionnaire, and the effectiveness from the results of the pre and post tests. This study used a Research and Development (R & D) model of Borg and Gall conducted in seven stages. The study showed that media of Lego Chemistry games was suitable for teaching learning process. It can be seen from the results of the material and media aspects by 0,83 and 0,94 which was valid. The results of the practicality of the questionnaires on the small and main tryouts were 92,50% and 90,66% and were considered practical. The results of the effectiveness of the N Gain on the small and main tryouts were 0.74 and 0.92 (high). Therefore, media of Lego Chemistry games was valid and effective. It is suitable to be used as the learning media in Chemistry class.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 mengakibatkan transformasi pembelajaran dari tatap muka menjadi dalam jaringan. Perubahan ini tidak hanya dalam hal model pembelajaran, tetapi juga media pembelajaran. Namun kenyataannya, guru cenderung belum siap menyiapkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai, terutama pada sekolah yang memiliki keterbatasan teknologi. Selama pembelajaran daring, guru tetap menggunakan media pembelajaran cetak, salah satunya lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD). LKPD cetak yang diberikan oleh guru  belum bisa membuat siswa paham akan materi konsep mol dikarenakan hanya berisi penjelasan materi yang disampaikan melalui tulisan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan  media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif yang mampu membantu siswa memahami materi konsep mol. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk E-LKPD berbasis liveworksheet yang inovatif, interaktif, dan layak digunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah 3D yaitu, define, design, dan develop. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MAN 3 Pontianak menggunakan 6 sampel uji coba lapangan awal dan 32 sampel  uji coba lapangan utama. Alat pengumpul data diperoleh dari angket validasi media, angket respon siswa serta soal pretest dan posttest.  Hasil Validasi ahli materi dan media menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD berbasis worksheet yang dikembangkan sangat valid dengan persentase kevalidan masing-masing sebesar 93,75% dan 83,33%. Analisis N-Gain menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD berbasis worksheet memiliki efektifitas yang tinggi dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai N-Gain pada uji coba lapangan awal dan utama secara berturut-turut sebesar 0,61 dan 0,72. Hasil analisis  kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD sangat praktis dengan persentase kepraktisan sebesar 85%. Dengan demikian, e-LKPD berbasis liveworksheet yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran konsep mol.

Abstract

Students’ understanding towards learning materials is generally influenced by the learning sources used. Lack of analytical skills and reasoning of the material taught especially stoichiometric material leads to a lack of interest in students' learning, students do not have a handbook but while learning takes place students use an inadequate number of textbooks in addition to covering only one or two representations. This study aimed to develop a learning module of multiple representation-based Stoichimetry concept. This study was a R &D method which adopting development of Brog & Gall. Sampling used purposive sampling. Subject in this research were students of class X IPA 2 as many as 9 students at initial field trials and 30 students of X IPA 1 at main field trials. Data collecting technique used were questionnaire and test. The data was analyzed by using Likert scale. The study revealed that the material validity by the material expert was 91,5%, and the validity by the media expert was 92,5%. The responses from the questionnaire on the practicality of the module were 88,17% and 86,89%. The effectiveness of the module could be seen from the students’ learning mastery value by 80,4%. In conclusion, the module that has been developed is considered feasible, practical, and effective to be used for both teachers and students in teaching learning process.Keywords: Stoichimetry Concept, Learning Module, Multiple Representation, Research and Development

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the ways to increase the students activities and achievement in learning is to apply student’s oriented learning design. Therefore, this research used cooperative learning type TAI as well as evaluated its influence towards the student’s activities and achievement in learning. This research used Nonequivalent Control group design. The data was collected by using purposive sampling where XI MIPA 1 took as an experimental class and XI MIPA 3 as a controlling class. The data collected trough the use of measurement and observation techniques and the tools to collected the data was the essay and observation sheets. Based on analysis of the data which used non parametric U- Mann Whitney test showed that there was the difference on students activities and achievement in learning. The used of TAI in learning was affective to increased students activities which was 27,34% considered as moderate and the students achievement was 30,78% which was considered as high.Keywords: learning activities, learning achievement, and TAI learning model

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low students’ learning outcomes and the failure in achieving the maximum mastery standard in Buffer Solutions material are caused by the students’ inability in understanding the questions. Students tend to merely pay attention on the Buffer Solutions material when the learning process takes place. However, they face confusion when they have to answer the questions of the task and the test. This study aimed at discovering the difficulties and the factors related to the students’ difficulties on Buffer Solutions material at XI IPA 1 class of MAN 2 Pontianak. Using case study descriptive method and qualitative approach, this study employed 29 students as the samples. The data collection technique used were indirect communication (questionnaires), direct communication (interview), and documentation techniques. While the data collection tools used were achievement test, questionnaires and interview. The data analysis results indicated that 68.3% students had difficulties on pH and pOH Buffer Solutions. On the other hand, the internal factorsthat affected the student learning difficulties were motivation aspect, that is, the students 'attention to the Buffer Solutions (54.31%), and talent aspect that influenced the student’s learning difficulties, that is, the students’ ability in recognizing numbers and figures respectively (48,6%) and talent aspect that influenced the student’s learning difficulties in Buffer Solutions materials (47%). In addition, the external factor that affected the student learning difficulties were family as the place to study (56%), and school as the facilitator (56,56%). Thereby, students are expected to further enhance the knowledge on the Buffer Solutions and have a discussion with both teachers and peers to cope with their learning difficulties.Keywords: Analysis, Students’ Learning Difficulties, Buffer Solutions

Abstract

Methods applied in schools have not been able to make students understand the sub-material of polar and nonpolar covalent compounds. One of the success factors of the practicum method is the use of the right practicum tools. Therefore, it is necessary to develop practical tools to make it easier for students to understand the concepts of polar and nonpolar covalent compounds. This study aims to produce a polarity and practicum tool on sub-material polar and nonpolar covalent compounds that are valid, practical, and effective. Validity is measured from the validator's assessment on material aspects and media using a validation sheet. Practicality is measured using teacher and student response questionnaires. Effectiveness is measured by the results of students' Pretest and Postest. This type of research is the development of the ADDIE Research and Development (R & D) model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the analysis show that the polarity practicum tool developed from the material and media aspects was stated to be very valid with an average validity value of 0.83 and 0.89, respectively. The practicality test results obtained very practical criteria with a practicality value of 96.64%. The aspect of effectiveness using the N-Gain value in the field trial results obtained N-Gain values of 0.72 with very high criteria. Thus, the polarity practicum tool developed is suitable for use as a sub-material learning media for polar and nonpolar covalent compounds.

Abstract

The low knowledge of student learning outcomes in the binary compound nomenclature for class X MIA at SMA Negeri 1 Tekarang is due to the difficulty and confusion of students in writing the names for binary compound nomenclature. One of the factors for the success of the learning method is the use of appropriate learning media. A learning medium is needed, namely the Jarumia learning media to make it easier for students to understand the concept of chemical compound nomenclature. This study aims to develop the Jarumia learning media in the binary compound nomenclature for class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Tekarang which is valid and practical. The instruments used were validation sheets and teacher and student response questionnaires. This type of research is the ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) model of Research and Development (R&D). The results of the analysis show that the Jarumia learning media developed is valid with an average value of 0.93 with high criteria. The percentage of the results of the questionnaire responses to the initial field trials and the main field trials were 89.74% and 85.45%, respectively, with very practical criteria. Thus, the needle learning media developed is suitable for use as a learning medium on compound nomenclature material, especially in the binary compound sub-material.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe results and retention of student learning is still low in learning the concept of mole due to the difficulties of students to understand the concept and the lack of ability to resolve the matter of calculation. This study aimed to determine the differences in the results and retention of learning between the students who were taught with and without using mind-map media based on tier training method in the material of mole concept, knowing the great effectiveness of mind-map media based tier training method toward the results and retention of students in the material of mole concept at X grade students of SMAN 8 Pontianak. This research used Quasi Experimental Research with control group design. This research used purposive sampling with X MIA 4 as the experimental class and X MIA 3 as the control class. The techniques of collecting data used measurement techniques, observation and interviews, while the data collection tools used the test results and retention of learning, observation sheet and questionnaire. Mann-Whitney U test as the data analysis showed that there were some differences in learning while the t-test showed that there were differences in retention of learning. The results of the data showed that there were differences in learning outcomes and retention between the students who were taught with and without mindmap media based on tiered training method. Learning by using mind-map media gave effectiveness to the result of students learning outcomes which 24,86% categorized as medium category, the retention of student learning for 8 days was 28,52% categorized as medium category.Keywords: learning outcomes, tier training method, mind-map, retention
