Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak pada mata kuliah Praktikum Kimia Analitik I dengan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis flash. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan teknik pengukuran. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi keterlaksanaan rencana pengajaran dan soal posttest setiap siklus. Instrumen tersebut divalidasi oleh tiga orang pakar di bidang kimia dan media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian selama dua siklus menunjukkan media pembelajaran flash dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia di Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak. Kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan dari 8,82 % pada siklus pertama menjadi 82,35 % pada siklus kedua.   Kata Kunci: kemampuan kognitif, media pembelajaran flash, penelitian tindakan kelas, praktikum kimia analitik I

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan karakter positif siswa TK Raudhatul Athfal Al Mas’udi Pontianak  kelas B1 pada pembelajaran sains berbasis edutainment dengan pendekatan open-inquiry. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Desain penelitian dimulai dari perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, refleksi dan dilanjutkan dengan perencanaan siklus berikutnya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data  penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah data yang diperoleh dari subjek penelitian yang terdiri dari dua orang guru dan anak didik yang berjumlah 20 anak.  Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas pada siklus I karakter positif anak dengan kategori sudah berkembang sebesar 35%, mulai berkembang 42,5%, dan belum berkembang 35%. Pada siklus II karakter positif anak terjadi peningkatan dengan kategori sudah berkembang sebesar 71,75%, mulai berkembang 20,62% dan belum berkembang 2,5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran sains berbasis edutainment dengan pendekatan open inquiry dapat melatih dan meningkatkan karakter positif siswa. Abstract

Pembelajaran Kimia Bahan Alam terdapat sumber belajar berupa powerpoint, jurnal ilmiah dan buku belum mengakomodir kebutuhan mahasiswa.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Buku suplemen Kimia Bahan Alam Pada Tanaman Genus Premna Sebagai Sumber Metabolit Antimikroba yang layak digunakan berdasarkan aspek kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model Dick and Carey meliputi: mengidentifikasi tujuan pembelajaran, melakukan analisis pembelajaran, menganalisis pembelajar dan konteks, merumuskan tujuan pembelajaran khusus, mengembangkan instrumen penilaian, mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran, mengembangkan dan memilih bahan ajar, merancang dan mengembangkan evaluasi formatif, dan melakukan revisi produk.Teknik yang digunakan meliputi wawancara dan observasi.Alat yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara, angket respon mahasiswa dan dosen serta soal latihan dalam kelompok.Berdasarkan hasil penilaian oleh ahli materi dan ahli media memiliki nilai kevalidan sebesar 91,6% dankepraktisan uji coba perorangan sebesar 84,51% serta uji coba kelompok kecil sebesar 76,39%.

Abstract

Sikap ilmiah merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan dan besarnya pengaruh metode praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing terhadap sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-eksperimental dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dan one-shot case study untuk observasi sikap ilmiah siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, teknik pengukuran, dan teknik komunikasi langsung. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, tes hasil belajar, dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji non-parametrik U-Mann Whitney menunjukan terdapat perbedaan sikap ilmiah yaitu 0,00 < 0,05 dan hasil belajar yaitu 0,00 < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen berbeda dengan kelas kontrol. Effect size yang diperoleh untuk sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa adalah 2,47 dan 1,99 yang termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Pembelajaran menggunakan metode praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh terhadap sikap ilmiah siswa sebesar 99,32% dan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 97,67%.

Abstract

Low students’ understanding of reaction rate factors had occurred in grade XI of SMA Adi Sucipto Pontianak as a result of lack of learning resources. Therefore, this study aimed to develop an experiment guidebook based on a scientific approach to assist students on comprehending factors influencing reaction rate. Modified 4D Thiagarajan’s model of Research and Development (R&D) was carried out, in which the guidebook was evaluated regarding its feasibility including validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The validity value judged byexperts of mediawas 87.64% (very valid). In addition, the practicality level measured by responses from both teacher and students were 100% (very practical) and 98.14% (very practical), respectively. The use of the guidebook in classroom was effectively improved students’ learning outcome as the N-gain value was 0.89 (very high). As a conclusion, the resulted experiment guidebook based on a scientific approach was feasible to be used as a learning resources on reaction rate subject in grade XI of SMA Adisucipto Pontianak.Keywords: Chemical Practic Guides, Scientific Approach.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students of class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak in learning chemistry, especially indicator theory sub material. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes between students who are taught using the Acid Base Indicator Practicum Method Based on Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) and students who are taught with the Discovery Learning model based on practicum. This study uses Intact Group Comparison Design with research subjects of 15 control class students and 16 experimental class students. Data were collected using direct communication techniques: interview sheets, measurement techniques, and direct observation techniques, observation sheets and data collection tools using learning outcomes tests (pretest and posttest). The results of the average pretest and posttest of the control class were 35.1 and 66.1 respectively, the average pretest and posttest of the experimental class were 36.9 and 74.5. Learning outcomes data using the Mann Whitney U-test obtained learning outcomes with a probability number, i.e. P value (0.644)> α (0.05). This means that there are differences in student learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. Thus the acid-base indicator practicum method (CTL) gives the Effect Size obtained a value of 0.78 effectiveness of 75.80%. Abstract

Learning difficulty is a condition where the students are not able to compherend what they learn so it causes the low exhaustiviness of students learning outcomes. This is caused by various factors, one of them is internal factor, namely learning style which has not been noticed by teacher, because it can help the learning process become faster and easier. This researcher was descriptive research which generally aimed to: (1) determine students learning style based on VARK learning styles, (2) find out students learning difficulty in chemistry subject, and (3) find out students learning difficulty in each type of learning style. The instruments of this research were questionnaire, observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the data analysis, the researcher got the information that the tendency of students learning style were dominated by V-A-R-K learning style (42,87%). There were 75% of students who experienced learning difficulty on the material of chemical calculation (stoichiometry) especially for the indicators in determining calculation based on the basic of chemical laws and morality based on the mole concept. It was due to the teacher tended to use lecture method. Morever, learning difficulty was also because the students have not known learning style they have, so that the students could not focus on learning style but they were more focused on finishing calculation tasks.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at finding out the difference, the influence, and the implementation of students’ learning outcomes on Stoichiometry taught by using problem posing and lecturing method of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative model in class X, SMA 8 Pontianak. Using quasi experimental and Nonequivalent Control Group designs, this study employed students of class X MIA 1 as the experimental group and class X MIA 4 as the control group. The study revealed that the average score of experimental class was higher (78,06) than the control class (67,30). The affective assessment of the control class gained lower score than the experimental class with the Excellent criteria at the first and the second meeting. Whereas, the affective assessment for Good criteria was dominated by the control class with the average score of 78,26%. The results of Uman witney test (α=0,05) showed that significance score of 0,000 which means that there was significant difference of control and experiment classes. The effect size calculations indicated ES=0.57 which categorized into average. Therefore, problem posing and lecturing method of  Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative model contributed positive influence to the students’ learning outcomes (21,57).Keywords : Students’ Outcomes, Numbered Heads Together (NHT), Problem Possing

Abstract

This study aims to produce a media which is bulletin with HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) oriented and verify the validity and feasibility of the result. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) using ADDIE design which is carried out through 5 stages, (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation. Research subject 30 student of XI MIPA 1 in SMA Negeri 1 Kelam Permai. Data collection techniques used were media validation questionnaire and student response questionnaire. The validity of media bulletin was rated by 4 validator, 2 media experts and 2 material experts. The validation of development media bulletin obtained an average value of validity 1,00 with high criteria. The percentage of the result of student response questionnaire in small group trial is 86,25% with very practical criteria. The percentage of  the result of student response questionnaire in field test is 76,91% with practical criteria. Based on the result of research, it is known that, the developed HOTS oriented bulletin is very suitable to be used in teaching Laju reaksi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve variation skills of student at chemical education. Meanwhile, the method of this research was classroom action research which conducted in the two cycles. The research design was begun by planning, action, observation, reflection and continued by the next planning. Data collection by observation, interview, documentation and test variation skill of student showed that the increasing of the first cycle was 67,12% and the second cycle was 73,87%.
