Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of social media usage intensity on social anxiety in adolescents at Senior High School X in Sidoarjo. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method, involving 279 students as a sample selected using a probability sampling technique with stratified sampling. Data collection was carried out through a Likert scale questionnaire that measured the intensity of social media usage and social anxiety, with reliability test results showing very strong Cronbach alpha values for both variables. Data analysis using simple linear regression showed that the intensity of social media usage significantly influenced social anxiety with a significance value of 0.032 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 55.9%, which means that the intensity of social media usage contributes significantly to the level of social anxiety in adolescents. The results also showed that the majority of students were in the category of moderate intensity of social media usage and social anxiety. This finding indicates that the higher the intensity of social media usage, the higher the social anxiety experienced by adolescents, so that wise management of social media usage is needed to minimize the negative impact on adolescent mental health.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is an employee's general feeling toward their work and is an important factor influencing productivity within a company. However, the reality is that many employees still feel dissatisfied with their jobs. Job satisfaction issues can have a negative impact on employee motivation, performance, mental and physical health, and can even disrupt company performance. Based on these conditions, the driving factors that can increase employee job satisfaction are work-life balance and support from colleagues. This study aims to determine the influence of work-life balance and coworker support on employee job satisfaction at CV X. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Data were obtained thru questionnaires distributed to 117 employees and analyzed using SPSS 26. The sampling technique used is saturation sampling. The research results indicate that work-life balance and coworker support have a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.433 indicates that 43.3% of the variation in job satisfaction is explained by these two variables, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors. Thus, increased job satisfaction is influenced by a good work-life balance and positive support among colleagues at CV X. This finding implies that the company needs to strengthen policies that support work-life balance, such as flexible working hours, and establish policies to improve the quality of relationships among colleagues, such as gathering programs or team building, as effective strategies for increasing employee job satisfaction.

Abstract

Increasingly fierce business competition demands that companies effectively manage human resources, including maintaining employee job satisfaction. Job dissatisfaction still frequently occurs in the industrial sector and impacts increased turnover, absenteeism, decreased productivity, and disruptions to operational stability. In this context, transformational leadership and self-efficacy are two psychological factors that have the potential to increase job satisfaction. This study aims to determine the influence of transformational leadership style and self-efficacy on employee job satisfaction. The research used a quantitative method with a causal design, involving 124 employees from the production division thru a saturated sampling technique. Data was collected using job satisfaction scales, transformational leadership scales, and self-efficacy scales, and then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results show that the level of job satisfaction among respondents is mostly in the moderate category. Abstract

General Background: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is characterized by persistent inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity that interfere with learning activities and daily functioning. Specific Background: Play therapy using educational game media, such as Bunchems—colored interlocking balls assembled into various shapes—has been proposed as a behavioral modification strategy combined with reinforcement techniques to facilitate attention control in children. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have explored play therapy for ADHD, yet limited empirical evidence documents reinforcement-based Bunchems play using single subject research designs to examine attention-related behavioral indicators. Aims: This study examined the role of reinforcement-based Bunchems play therapy in supporting attention ability in a child diagnosed with ADHD. Results: Using a quantitative quasi-experimental single subject research with an A–B design, observations were conducted across four baseline sessions and eight intervention sessions involving a six-year-old participant. Baseline findings showed the participant could distinguish only two to three color groups and frequently experienced attention distraction. During the intervention, reinforcement through praise and applause accompanied Bunchems play tasks, resulting in the participant distinguishing up to five color groups and maintaining task completion with fewer distractions, although statistical stability remained variable and changes were not significant. Novelty: This study introduces reinforcement-integrated Bunchems play as a structured behavioral modification approach within a single-subject experimental framework. Implications: The findings indicate Bunchems play therapy combined with reinforcement may serve as an alternative intervention strategy to support attention-related learning processes in children with ADHD, particularly when implemented repeatedly and over extended durations. Highlights: Color-Group Task Performance Increased From Limited Differentiation to Full Grouping Accuracy. Motivational Feedback Maintained Task Completion and Reduced Observable Distraction Behavior. Behavioral Observation Data Demonstrated Variable Yet Observable Upward Performance Trends Across Intervention Sessions. Keywords: ADHD, Bunchems Play Therapy, Reinforcement Technique, Attention Ability, Single Subject Research

Abstract

General Background: The rapid growth of social media use in the digital era has intensified psychological phenomena among university students, including fear of missing out (FoMO), which is associated with continuous online engagement and emotional responses to social information. Specific Background: Self-control is considered an important psychological capacity that enables individuals to regulate behavior, interpret stimuli, and manage social media usage to prevent excessive engagement. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the association between self-control and FoMO, particularly within university student populations, indicating the need for empirical clarification. Aims: This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-control and fear of missing out among FPIP students at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design involving 213 students, data were collected through validated self-control and FoMO scales and analyzed using a non-parametric correlation test with IBM SPSS Statistics 29. The findings showed a correlation coefficient of −0.176 with a significance value of 0.010 > 0.05, indicating no significant relationship between self-control and FoMO. Novelty: The study provides empirical evidence demonstrating the absence of a statistically significant association between self-control and FoMO within the examined student context, contributing to ongoing academic debate regarding psychological predictors of FoMO. Implications: These findings suggest that FoMO among university students may involve factors beyond self-control alone and highlight the importance of promoting balanced social media use and behavioral regulation strategies in higher education settings. Highlights: Statistical Testing Revealed a Non-Significant Association Between the Examined Psychological Variables. Student Participants Displayed Measurable FOMO Characteristics Despite Varying Regulatory Abilities. Empirical Evidence Contributes to Mixed Research Outcomes Reported in Prior Student-Based Studies. Keywords: Self-Control, Fear of Missing Out, University Students, Social Media Behavior, Quantitative Correlational Study
