Abstract

Quality revolution programs have position quality as main object. Corporates focus on continuous improvement and how to create cus­ tomer satisfaction continually. The other side, Berry and Rondinelli (1998) say that in the twenty first century indicated as a new revolution industry, especially in environmental management. This fact have make corporates must redefinition to their object, they not only exploiting human resources and natural resources, but also how they must responsibility to environ­ mental.This research is design to know the impact of Quality environmental management (OEM) practices to competitive advantage. The first hypoth­ esis focus the impact OEM on competitive advantage and the second hypothesis emphazises the impact of interaction OEM with corporate performance as moderating variable on competitive advantage. Data was collected by mail survey with object corporates that resistance on envi­ ronmental problem. Population are all corporate that resistance to envi­ ronmental problem and the research variabel are : quality environmental management, corporate performance and competitive advantage. Respond rate from quesionare that mailed reach 28% from total popula­ tion 150 corporates. All item in three variabel were measured by 5 point Ukert­scale (strongly disagre to strongly agree) and all items were valid. By alpha cronbach, all variables indicate reliable (OEM ­ 0, 7789, GP = 0, 8433, CA  = 0, 7827). This resuit indicate that quality environmental management has positive impact on competitive advantage. The other result indicate that interaction quality environment management and corporate performance (as moderating variable) has positive impact on competitive advantage

Abstract

This research is designed to fest the assoslatlon between quality dimensions (customer satisfaction/ CS, employee satisfadion/ES, industry quality/IQ} and corporate performance/CP. The data were collected from manufacturing firms in Semarang, and grouped into two size, include big corporate and middle corporate. There are I 04 corporates were participating in this study. They are 57 big corporates and 47 middle corporates as sample. Based on literature review and theory, we make six hypotheses. The firs three hypotheses there are significant correlation between quality dimensions and corporate performance between quality dimensions and corporate performance for the middle corporates.Alf item used in this research, we based on 7-poinf likert scale. The relationship between qualitydimensions and five items of corporate performance was investigated by correlation analysis. Discriminant analysis was conducted to differentiate the size of corporate. The measure instrument used for the three quality dimensions and corporate performance are show to b valid (except price/CS) and reliable. The result of correla- tion onalysb show that the big corporates tend have more widely a positif correlation between quaflty dlmentlons and cop orate performance than middle corporates. From the discriminant analysis, there are five independent variables (items) that have more discriminant power in the analysis, absenteeism (ES), consumer preference (IQ), turnover (ES), market place quality (IQ) and promotion (ES).

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the effect of IT-strategy alignment, responsiveness, operational flexibility, and business relationship on sustainable competitive advantage and the mediating effect of responsiveness, operational flexibility, and business relationship in relationships between IT-strategy alignment and sustainable competitive advantage. Data were collected from 189 Batik SME in Pekalongan and analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result shows that IT-strategy alignment significantly affects responsiveness. Responsiveness, operational flexibility, and also business relationship significantly affect sustainable competitive advantage. Furthermore, responsiveness, operational flexibility, and business relationship mediate the correlation of IT-strategy alignment and sustainable competitive advantage. Responsiveness, operational flexibility, and business relationship have the confidence and value that puts customers on every business decision. It encourages Batik SME to improve the sustainable competitive advantage based on the customers’ expectations. IT-strategy alignment is essential to enhance responsiveness, operational flexibility, and business to gain a sustainable competitive advantage. That IT-strategy alignment can improve the sustainable competitive advantage of the Batik SME.

Abstract

Dimensi modal sosial menggambarkan segala sesuatu yang membuat masyarakat bersekutu untuk mencapai tujuan bersama atas dasar kebersamaan, serta didalamnya diikat oleh nilai-nilai dan norma-norma yang tumbuh dan dipatuhi, serta sosial inheren dalam struktur relasi sosial dan jaringan sosial di dalam suatu masyarakat yang menciptakan berbagai ragam kewajiban sosial, menciptakan iklim saling percaya, membawa saluran informasi, dan menetapkan norma-norma, serta sangsi-sangsi sosial bagi para anggota masyarakat tersebut (Coleman, 1999). Namun demikian Fukuyama  (2000) dengan tegas menyatakan, belum tentu norma-norma dan nilai-nilai bersama yang dipedomani sebagai acuan bersikap, bertindak, dan bertingkah-laku itu otomatis menjadi modal sosial. Akan tetapi hanyalah norma-norma dan nilai-nilai bersama yang dibangkitkan oleh kepercayaan (trust). Dimana trust ini adalah merupakan harapan- harapan terhadap keteraturan, kejujuran, dan perilaku kooperatif yang muncul dari dalam sebuah komunitas masyarakat yang didasarkan pada norma-norma yang dianut bersama oleh para anggotanya. Populasi dalam penelitian terdiri dari petani tembakau, tokoh masyarakat, dan aparat pemerintah kecamatan dan desa dari delapan desa yang terpilih sebagai sampel. Sementara itu jumlah responden sebanyak 104 orang, yang terdiri dari 80 petani tembakau, 16 tokoh masyarakat, 16 perangkat desa, dan 2 orang perangkat kecamatan. Variabel penelitian meliputi kajian ekonomi, sosial budaya, kajian demografi, karakteristik petani tembakau, dan efektivitas modal sosial. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan focus group discussion (FGD) dengan responden, dan observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai kepercayaan dalam modal sosial sangat dominan sebagai dasar bagi masyarakat pedesaan untuk dijadikan modal dalam peningkatan fungsi yang lain, seperti peningkatan respek dan keuntungan bersama. Permasalahan dalam optimalisasi modal sosial menyangkut masalah alam, masalah sumber daya manusia, dan masalah manajemen. Sementara itu untuk mengoptimalkan peran modal sosial di pedesaan perlu adanya dukungan dari berbagai pihak, seiring dengan tuntutan masyarakat pedesaan terkait dengan pentingnya program pendampingan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi masyarakat pedesaan dengan meningkatkan ketrampilan bertani, dan meningkatkan diversivikasi pertanian. Selain itu juga perlunya dukungan kepemimpinan transformasional untuk meningkatkan optimalisasi peran modal sosial. Kata kunci: Modal sosial, kesejahteraan, kepemimpinan transformasional,pendampingan

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of environmental initiative, employee involvement, and supplier integration on the environmental performance and corporate performance Semarang municipality. This study uses environmental initiative, employeeinvolvement, and supplier integation as an exogenous variable, and such intervening variables as environmental performance, and dependen variable is corporate performance. The first step of the study is to investigate the influence of environmental initiative, employee involvement, and supplier integtarion on environmental performance. The second step is to investigate the influence of environmental performance on corporate performance. The third step is to investigate new model of environment management based on the trimming theory. The population of this study consists of 85 corporetes where operations on industrial centre in Semarang municipality. All of the variables are measured with four indicators for every indicators. The analysis data using path analysis that solved by multiple regression. The result of the study shows that, first: the independent variables environmental initiative and employee involvement have significant influence on environmental performance. Second, supplier integration has direct effect on corpporate performance. Third, environmental management has a significant influence on corporate performance. At last, the result of trimmed model show that environmental performance as a mediating variables from correlations amoong environment initiative, employee involvement on corporate performance.Keywords:Environmenalt Initiative, Employee Involvement, Supplier Integration, Environmental Performance, and Corporate Performance.

Abstract

Dimensions of social capital described everything that makes people allied to achieve a common goal based on unity, and bounded by the values and norms that grow and obeyed, as well as the social relations inherent in social structures and social networks in a community that creates wide range of social obligations, creating a climate of mutual trust, bring information channels, and establish norms and social sanctions for members of the community (Coleman , 1999). However, Fukuyama ( 2000) says that not necessarily the norms and shared values are guided by reference behave, act, and behave it automatically becomes social capital. However, only the norms and shared values based on trust. Where trust is build from expectations, honesty, and cooperative behavior emerging from within a community based on shared norms shared by its members. The population consisted of tobacco farmers, community leaders, and government officials from eight districts and rural villages are selected as samples. While the number of respondents were 104 people , consisting of 80 tobacco farmers, 16 community leaders, 16 of the village, sub-district and 2 devices. Variables research includes the study of economic, socialcultural, demographic, tobacco farmers, and the effectiveness of social capital. Data collection using focus group discussions ( FGD ) with the respondent, and field observations. The results showed that the values of trust in social capital is dominant as the basis for rural communities to be used as based on improvement of other functions, such as increased respect and mutual benefit. Problems in the optimization problem concerning the nature of social capital, human resource issues, and management issues. The main problems to optimize the role of social capital in rural areas need the support of various stakeholders, and the demands of rural communities regarding the importance of mentoring programs to improve the competence of rural communities by improving farming skills, and improve agricultural diversification. In addition, the need for transformational leadership support to improve the optimization of the role of social capital .Keywords : social capital, welfare, transformational leadership, mentoring

Abstract

Zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS) potency is very large in Central Java as the instruments for reducing poverty and improving the community welfare. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of management ZIS as optimal as posible, so can give significant contribution to poverty reduction and welfare improvement. The law No. 23 of 2011 concerning the management of zakat has given a very strong legal foundation in the management of zakat, by collecting, distributing, and accountability. The unit of analysis in this study is Bazda in Central Java Province. The sample take from four districts/cities: Semarang city, Jepara regency, Demak regency, and the regency of Semarang. While the respondents were administrators Bazda, muzzaki, and mustahik in four regency/cities. The results showed that all Bazda (Semarang, Semarang regency, Demak, dan Jepara) already have data on muzzaki and mustahik, but does not have a data base mustahik and muzakis completely, so it can not be done for mapping the distribution of ZIS effectively and efficiently. The condition of the building, infrastructure and operational funds sourced budget has not been able to support the operations and performance of the collection, distributor and reporting effectively and efficiently. Distribution and utilization of ZIS dominated by the fulfillment of consumer needs and its focused on the areas of health, education and social empowerment, but for productive business activities still relative small, so it requires a paradigm shift in the management of the ZIS to make mustahik be muzzaki. Reporting and accountability system so far has been done transparent and accountable through a written report to the District / City Government and Parliament, but some Bazda not convey to mustahik in detail, both in book report and through the WEB. Only Jepara regency that has reporting system complete, organized, detailed and printed in book report to be sent to the regency government, parliament, muzakis, and the other institution. To realize effectiveness, BAZDA must have data based of muzzaki and mustahiq, and support by representative office, so the amil can do better. Coordination function must be develop with regional government, state ownership corporate, and private corporate to ensure of increase revenue of BAZDA, and to ensure amount of muzzaki.

Abstract

Competition in the future is not company to company, but among supply chain to supply chain.This study based on the fenomena that production process has result very much goods, theproblem about how to deliver goods or services to end customer with optimal and on timedelivery. Company, especially on small businesses must identify their intregration with supplierand customer. The integration concern can be based on customer, supplier, or both. Thisfirst study is to identify the type of integration among the small business. The second studyis to investigat the relationship between integration concern and corporate performance, andfinally the study is designed to understand differences among integration concern. Populationin this study is small businesses Semarang Municipality. Sample for this study are 59 smallbusinesses. Companies were selected by cluster sampling technique. Method of data iscollected by questioner given directly to company and deep interview with the owners. Analyzeused by descriptive analysis and Kruskal Wallis test. The result indicate that almost all the smallbusiness have periphery facing integration. It means that small businesses have integration tosupplier and to customer. The other result of this study indicate that integrate the supply chainhave positive and significant effect on company performance.Keywords: Supply Chain Integration, Company Performance, Small business

Abstract

Global fenomena has condition a business activities must be manage more proffesional andinvolve the stakeholders. The traditional market as a public service have many competitiveat the future, like mini market and modern market. This study was designed to investigatepossibility of traditional market management to be region company especially on market institutionin Semarang municipality. The concept based on to revitalization of traditional marketmanagement to be health market. The population on this study are the buyers, the sellers,the communities, the assosiation of seller, and market coordinators. All of markets in Semarangmunicipality as a object of study. The amount of markets are 47 units. The variables ofstudy are focus on organization and human resources management, stakeholders, law, andbenchmarking. The study use descriptive approach with quantitative and qualitative analysis.The result show that organization structure and human resources capability of market institutionin Semarang municipality is not relevan with current condition. The organizational cannotcreate and support the competitiveness in industrial markets. Capability of human resourcesin market institution is not relevant for answer the era competitiveness. Abstract

ABCTRACTThe purpose of this research is to know and analyze model of OCB improvement throughtservant leadership and job satisfaction. The population in this research is the employees ofPT. Beverly International Pekalongan. The sampling method in this research is used censusmethod with 40 peoples as a total respondent. The analysis method in this research is usedpath analysis. The result of this research shows that: 1) There’s an effect of servant leadershiptoward OCB. 2) There’s an effect of servant leadership toward job satisfaction. 3) There’s aneffect of job satisfaction toward OCB. 4) There’s an effect of servant leadership toward OCBthrought job satisfaction.Keywords: Servant leadership, job satisfaction, Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB
