Abstract

This study aims to examine the aligenment between class scheduling and the performance of the live daily prayers among student4s at UIN Walisongo Semarang. As an Islamic higher education institution, UIN Walisongo expected to integrate academic activities with the religious obligateions of its students. However, the intensity of class schedules and the dynamics of campus activities often have the potensial to conflict with prayer times, making it necessary to investigate the exten to which academic schedules are synchronized with the required times for prayer. This research focuses on three main aspects: (1) the compatibility of class schedules with the times of the five daily prayers, (2) the extent to which academic administrator consider prayer times when designing class scheduls, and (3) the forms of taysir or facilitative measures provided by the anniversity to support timely prayer performance. Using a qualitative field research method and a case study approach, data are collected through observations, interviews, and documentation related to class schedules and worship facilities within the campus environment. The findings of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between academic scheduling systems and the practice of performing the five daily prayers among students. In addition, this research aims to generate recommendations based on Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic time management principles, which my serve as a foundation for developing academic policies that are more supportive of religious observance. Such policies would help ensure that academic activities and religious obligations can operate in harmony and mutually reinforce one another.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in senior high schools still tends to be teacher-centered, resulting in limited development of students’ active participation, creativity, and independent learning. This condition highlights the need for a learning approach that encourages exploration, concept discovery, and active student engagement. The Exploratory Discovery approach is considered relevant as it emphasizes independent exploration, group discussion, concept discovery, and reflection, which align with constructivist principles and 21st-century competencies. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Exploratory Discovery approach in PAI learning for grade XI students at SMA Negeri 03 Semarang and to analyze the forms of student creativity as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its effectiveness. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling involving three PAI teachers and five grade XI students. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, including lesson plans, syllabi, and students’ work. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Exploratory Discovery approach enhances students’ creativity in the form of mind maps, posters, miniatures, and critical argumentation skills. Supporting factors include a conducive learning environment and the teacher’s role as a facilitator, while inhibiting factors include differences in student readiness, limited instructional time, and initial dependence on the teacher.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of integrative curriculum management in Islamic boarding schools to bridge the dichotomy between religious and general education. It focuses on how curriculum integration is planned, implemented, and evaluated, as well as its impact on students’ competencies. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving six key informants. The findings reveal that integrative curriculum management is systematically carried out through synchronized planning, contextual learning practices, and continuous evaluation. This approach significantly strengthens students’ holistic competencies, including religious understanding, academic achievement, critical thinking, and moral character. The success of implementation is strongly influenced by leadership commitment, institutional culture, and collaborative teaching practices. In addition, adaptive strategies are proven effective in addressing resistance to change and maintaining curriculum relevance in the face of global challenges. However, inconsistencies at the instructional level indicate that integration has not been fully internalized by all educators. This study contributes an empirical model of integrative curriculum management in pesantren, offering a practical framework for educational reform that is both contextually grounded and globally relevant. Further research across diverse settings is recommended to enhance external validity.
