This study aims to explore the scaffolding instruction used in developing students’ speaking and describe the teacher's perspective after using scaffolding to support and help students develop their English speaking skills. A qualitative descriptive research method was used in this study that aims to describe the situation observed in the field more precisely, transparently, and in-depth. The focus of this study was one English teacher in a primary school. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted semi-structured interviews and observations to obtain the teacher’s perception and the instructional scaffolding used in teaching speaking. Then in analyzing data, the researcher adopts Miles and Huberman's (1994) method consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion or drawing. The results showed that the types of scaffolding used by the researcher in teaching English were two types: modelling and bridge, and then the positive and negative effects were provided. Significantly, this study can be used as a reference in supporting students to develop their speaking skills through instructional scaffolding.

This research that has been conducted entitled "The Use of Code-Switching By Teacher In Classroom Interaction At MAN 2 Model Medan" which is motivated by the fact that there are differences in abilities between teachers and students in using and understanding English so make the teacher adjust the language gap so that code-switching occurs between students and teachers in classroom interaction. Code-switching is a communication between people use two or more language. The research methodology in this study use a qualitative method where the data collected by the researcher was by triangulation method that are observation, documentation and interview the teacher. The results obtained by the researcher are three types of code-switching used by teachers in classroom interaction, those are tag switching, inter-sentential switching, and intra-sentential switching. Based on those three types, the dominant types that are most often used by the teacher is inter-sentential switching. The teacher use code switching because of talking about particular topic, quoting somebody else, showing empathy, interjection, repetition, expressing group identity, and to clarify about the content. Based on the finding of the research, it can be concluded that code-switching can be used by teacher in classroom interaction because code-switching as the solution of the language gap between teacher and student.

Keeping a teaching journal is one way that can be done to assist in the improvement of professional development. One approach that is becoming increasingly popular nowadays. Using a qualitative case study methodology, this research aims to explore the English teachers' perspectives on journal writing as a way of professional development. The study enlisted the participation of 21 English teachers to complete a demographic survey. In accordance with the aims of the study, participants were recruited using a technique of purposive sampling. In this case, the researcher selected the participant based on their experience in writing a teaching journal. The researcher utilized a questionnaire and an interview as instruments for data collection. The purpose of the questionnaire is to collect demographic information as well as respondents' perceptions about the benefit of keeping a teaching journal for professional development. The interview was then conducted to obtain further information regarding the participants' responses to the questionnaire. Five English teachers voluntarily participated in the interview process and in analyzing data, thematic content analysis was used in this study. The outcomes of the study revealed that English teachers got a range of benefits from strengthening their professional development, including encouraging a positive attitude toward teaching, enhancing English teachers' critical thinking, and improving teaching quality. This study suggested that keeping a teaching journal has a profound influence on English teacher development.

This research is based on the need to investigate students' abilities in writing essays. Essay is defined as a short essay containing the author's opinion or argument about a topic. Usually, someone writes an essay because he wants to give an opinion on a problem or phenomenon that occurs in society. Essay writers, or often called essayists, can also explore a topic or issue and provide responses and opinions on the topic or issue discussed. Self-check of students in revising essays helps students to increase self-confidence and be able to revise essays properly and correctly. An essay is a part (piece) of a piece of writing, but an essay can also be interpreted as a complete short essay. Therefore, essays are a type of writing that is often used as a test tool to measure one's intelligence. A knowledgeable person will be able to convey his ideas in a coherent, logical and interesting way. The more often someone reads, the more likely they are to be able to write a good essay.

This research aims at exploring the difficulties faced by elementary school teachers in team teaching between novice and experienced teachers. This research was conducted in some private schools in Medan. Participants consisted of 16 teachers of which 8 teachers were chosen in participating the questionnaire and interview of 4 novice teachers and 4 experienced teachers. This research used qualitative methods and took a thematic approach to its data collection. A questionnaire with open-ended questions as well as semi-structured in-depth interviews served as the research instruments. The findings of this research reveal four common themes that emerged from the responses to the questionnaire regarding the difficulties that teachers experience during the process of team teaching and the factors that contribute to those difficulties. It is necessary to conduct additional research in order to determine whether the perspectives of team teachers working in various areas are unique or equivalent.

Current technological developments require students and teachers to increasingly explore their abilities in English using currently available applications. This study focuses on analyzing articles that discuss the use of Rosetta Stone in Language Learning applications in teaching English for Foreign Languages (EFL). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Rosetta Stone Application in teaching English to speakers of other languages (EFL) using data from a variety of journals.. The method used was descriptive method with Documentary Research Design. Documentary research is a type of scholarly exploration that inspects specific exploration subjects utilizing essential sources like texts and notes. Based on six previous journals from various studies in the world such as Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria and Russia. The data illustrates the fact of using Rosetta Stone based on the research results of six researchers who have been published in journals published around the world. The results that can be drawn based on the research report are the use of the Rosetta Stone application in increasing students' abilities in learning English as a foreign language effectively. There are substantial variations in learning English as a Foreign Language between individuals who have been trained utilizing the Rosetta Stone Application, such as speaking, listening, writing, vocabulary knowledge, and pronunciation.

This research aims to identify teachers’ perceptions of teaching by a team in a rural elementary school. Team teaching is a way to teach in a classroom, the importance of teacher perception is needed to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of team teaching in an elementary school. The research was used qualitatively design with a descriptive qualitative approach to find problems experienced either individually or in groups. The teachers could review about team teaching that they were through the attached perspective. The research data were obtained through interviews and data collection of material documentation. This research was conducted at rural elementary school of North Sumatera, Indonesia. The findings state that the participants feel comfortable and are helped by team teaching, which shows learning improvement. In addition, it shows the teachers have positive perceptions and teaching experiences with team teaching.

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi potensi penggunaan ekstrak daun jambu biji sebagai bahan dasar minuman berantioxidant di Desa Suka Ramai, Kecamatan Air Putih, Kabupaten Batu Bara. Menggunakan metode penelitian pendahuluan untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang daun jambu biji, kandungan antioksidan, dan potensinya sebagai bahan baku minuman berantioxidant Penelitian ini memberikan dasar yang kuat untuk pengembangan produk minuman berantioxidant dari sumber daya alam lokal, yang dapat memberikan manfaat kesehatan dan ekonomi bagi komunitas. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman kesehatan masyarakat tetapi juga memberikan peluang untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan dan pemberdayaan lokal melalui produk berbasis daun jambu biji.

Lots of apps are created to make all the things easier to be done. For example TikTok, Facebook, You tube, WhatsApp, and another apps . The whole features would get when the user installed on their device. The objective of this research is to know the English students perception in using Youtube as one of the media in learning English. The focus of this research only discuss about YouTubeThe kind of this research is qualitative research with descriptive method. Qualitative research is a research that use to describe the data by explaining it without the number. There are 20 students from English department that choose as the respondent. The instrument of this research is questinnaire. There are 15 statements given on the questionnaire. This research used likert scale to see the respon of respondent. The data is collected by using google form. Researcher share the link to each respondent. The result of this study was most of the students agree Youtubes is better than another apps and the respondent more used Youtube than other apss to study English. Some of the primacy of this app such as; have longer time, various of video, provide paid and unpaid and it is not consumed big data. With these primacy, students’ agree that this app suit to study English.

The research aimed to describe EFL students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of Grammarly as an Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE). Nowadays, the Grammarly application is used to give AWE in many EFL writing classes. The respondents of the research were 75 students in an EFL writing class. The questionnaires and interviews were used to explore the students’ perceptions of using Grammarly in editing their drafts. The data from the questionnaires were calculated by percentages, and the data from the interview were analyzed by content analysis. The results show that the students have positive perceptions of using the Grammarly application as AWE. They state many advantages of Grammarly, such as Grammarly helps to identify errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and word choices in writing; helps to minimize errors in writing products; to enhance paraphrasing skills; to corrects the errors in writing anytime and anywhere; helps to improve students’ vocabulary; and Grammarly is easier to find errors in writing. Besides the advantages, the students state the drawback of Grammarly as AWE, such as Grammarly for free version has limited features to check errors; Grammarly for the premium version is expensive for students; and Grammarly cannot be accessed offline. The results of the questionnaires and interview represent that the Grammarly application has positive impacts on EFL students as an automated writing evaluation.
