Abstract

Current pattern in Java Sea highly depends on monsoonal cycles, which create alternating conditions according to the seasons throughout the year and potential impacts on eddy currents variability. Using the surface geostrophic current data from satellite altimetry during 2013-2017, this study aims to understand the variability of eddy currents and its relations to the physical condition of the Java Sea such as sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface height (SSH), and chlorophyll-a concentration (CHL). Results showed 60 occurrence of eddy currents in the study area, 40 cyclonic and 20 anticyclonic. The largest cyclonic eddy observed in April 2013 (112.05, -5.37) with a diameter of 134.07 km, while the largest anticyclonic eddy observed in October 2017 (114.54, -6.24) with a diameter of 159.69 km. Cyclonic eddy has lower SSH and cold core while anticyclonic eddy has higher SSH and warm core. Despite having an unclear pattern during the five years period, the occurence of Eddy current has a potentially indirect influence on Chl-a concentration.

Abstract

Microtremor signal measurements had been conducted in the northern part of Kulonprogro to obtain the seismic characteristics in the form of: the predominant frequency value, amplifi cation factor, sediment thickness, seismic vulnerability index, the maximum ground vibration acceleration, and the ground shear strain value. The measurement was conducted at 18 points within geographical coordinates of 110.10° E-110.27° E and 7.64° S-7.80° S. The signals were analyzed using Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The results show that the predominant frequency value is in the range of 2.98-13.53 Hz; amplifi cation factor is in the range of 1.6-10.1; sediment thickness is in the range of 5-60 m; seismic vulnerability index is in the range of 0.6 × 10 -6-5.8 × 10 -6 s /cm; maximum ground acceleration is in the range of 24-54 gal and ground shear strain value is in the range of 0.6 × 10 -4  – 4.4 × 10 -4.

Abstract

Proton-neutron interaction that makes up deuteron is a mixture state of ????13 dan ????13, which are each associated with a state ????=0, ????=1 and ????=2, ????=1. In the proton-neutron interaction, there are particle exchanges of medium range (1 fm≤????≤2 fm) i.e. scalar meson exchange and the long range (????>2 fm) i.e. one pion exchange. The electromagnetic properties of non-relativistic deuteron in the ground state can be found from the coupled differential equation, such as magnetic dipole moment, 〈????D〉=0.856521???????? and electrical quadrupole moment, 〈????D〉=0.00291396 b.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur bawah permukaan jalur Sesar Opak berdasarkan model suseptibilitas dan SVD dengan metode geomagnet. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan Proton Precession Magnetometer Geometric tipe G-856 dengan 77 titik pengukuran dan jarak antar titik pengukuran +2 km. Pengolahan data dilakukan melalui koreksi variasi harian, koreksi IGRF, SVD, dan reduksi ke kutub. Pemodelan dilakukan dengan menganalisis anomali medan magnet yang telah direduksi ke kutub. Hasil pemodelan solid model menunjukkan bahwa Formasi Semilir dengan nilai suseptibilitas (0 – 100) ×10-3, Formasi Merapi Muda dengan nilai suseptibilitas (0 – 2) ×10-3, dan Formasi Nglanggran dengan nilai suseptibilitas (0,6 – 70) ×10-3. Hasil pemodelan SVD dan solid model menunjukkan keberadaan Sesar Opak.

Abstract

Permasalahan pendidikan di Indonesia khususnya di Kabupaten Bantul salah satunya adalah kurang meratanya penyebaran guru-guru khususnya pada keahlian tertentu, misalkan guru IPA. Di satu sisi, ada tuntutan keprofesional guru-guru artinya guru adalah faktor penentu keberhasilan proses pembelajaran yang berkualitas, sehingga berhasil tidaknya pendidikan mencapai tujuan selalu dihubungkan dengan kiprah para guru. Oleh karena itu, usaha-usaha yang dilakukan dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan hendaknya dimulai dari peningkatan kualitas guru. Guru yang berkualitas diantaranya adalah mengetahui dan mengerti peran dan fungsinya dalam proses pembelajaran. Tapi disisi lain, guru dituntut untuk mengerti dan memahami sesuatu yang bukan latar belakangnya. Ironis memang ...Salah satu solusi terkait dengan permasalahan di atas, walaupun bukan solusi yang terbaik adalah memberikan pelatihan berupa praktikum IPA bagi guru-guru SD yang tidak memiliki latar belakang IPA. Bentuk praktikum ini menyesuaikan dengan jenis percobaan yang ada di SD, yaitu sederhana dan bisa dilakukan oleh siswa sendiri. Selain  Ada 8 jenis percobaan yang dilakukan, 6 diantaranya bersesuaian dengan materi IPA SD dan sisanya cenderung bersifat edutainment berbasis pemanfaatan limbah.Evaluasi yang dilakukan selama kegiatan PPM ini terdiri dari 2 bentuk, yaitu evaluasi kinerja yang dilakukan oleh tim PPM dan evaluasi berupa kuisioner yang diisi oleh peserta guru-guru. Dari evaluasi kinerja, peserta yang guru-guru SD sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan ini dengan rata-rata nilai aktivitas 83,3 masuk dalam kategori baik. Sedangkan dari kuisioner yang diberikan oleh guru-guru, pelatihan sejenis sangat diperlukan untuk menambah pengalaman dan pengetahuan khususnya praktikum IPAKata kunci: pelatihan praktikum IPA, proses pembelajaran IPA

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA tidak harus dilakukan di dalam kelas, ataupun dengan menggunakan peralatan laboratorium yang bagus dan canggih apalagi terkomputerisasi. Pembelajaran IPA bisa dilakukan di luar kelas dan dapat dilakukan berbagai bentuk kegiatan, antara lain kegiatan praktikum. Tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini adalah menyegarkan kembali jenis-jenis praktikum yang bisa dilakukan sekaligus untuk memperkuat pemahaman konsepnya. Sedangkan tujuan lainnya adalah agar guru-guru bisa berinovasi dan berimprovisasi merancang kegiatan pembelajaran anak-anak khususnya kelas 4 dan 5 terutama yang berkaitan dengan praktikum IPA.Kegiatan ini dilakukan berupa percobaan yang dilakukan secara berkelompok dan diawali dengan memberikan modul yang berisikan panduan pelaksanaan praktikum dan diakhiri penjelasan dan pemaknaan fisisnya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di dalam kelas dan di luar kelas. Adapun jenis praktikum yang dilakukan adalah Mekanika (GLB dan GLBB), Kalor (Perubahan Wujud Benda), Gelombang, Optika (lensa dan cermin), Listrik dan Magnet, Bumi dan Alam Semesta, dan Balon Gas. Evaluasi yang dilakukan selama kegiatan ini terdiri dari 2 bentuk, yaitu evaluasi kinerja yang dilakukan oleh tim dan evaluasi berupa kuisioner yang diisi oleh peserta guru-guru. Dari evaluasi kinerja, peserta yang guru-guru SD sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan ini dengan rata-rata nilai aktivitas 83,30 masuk dalam kategori baik dan nilai evaluasi guru selama kegiatan berlangsung 91,46 masuk dalam katagori sangat baik. Sedangkan dari kuisioner yang diberikan oleh guru-guru, pelatihan sejenis sangat diperlukan untuk menambah pengalaman dan pengetahuan khususnya praktikum IPA khususnya dalam merancang alat praktikum sederhana yang berasal dari lingkungan sekitar. Kata kunci: praktikum IPA, proses pembelajaran IPA. Simple Experiment Workshop for Elementary School Teachers of Class 4 And 5 Based on Waste Utilization in Bantul Distric  Abstract           Science learning does not have to be done in the classroom, or by using good and sophisticated laboratory equipment let alone computerized. Science learning can be done outside the classroom and can be done various forms of activities, such as experiment activities. The main purpose of this activity is to re-type the kinds of experiment that can be done as well as to strengthen the understanding of the concept. While the other goal is for teachers to innovate and improvise the activities that are being built with the science lab.This activity is carried out with experiments conducted in groups and begins by providing a module that contains guidelines for the implementation of the practicum and the end of explanation and the physical meaning. This activity is done in the classroom and outside the classroom. The types of experiment performed are Mechanics (GLB and GLBB), Calor (Change of Being), Waves, Optics (lens and mirror), Electricity and Magnetism, Earth and Universe, and Gas Balloon.Evaluation done during the workshop consisted of 2 forms, they were performance evaluation done by the team and questionnaire for the participant. From performance evaluation, the participant got average activity score of  83,30 which is categorized as good and the evaluation of teachers during the course of 91.46 is included in the category very well. From questionnaire, the workshop is needed to add experience and knowledge in science.Keywords:  Keywords: science experiment, science instruction

Abstract

This research was aimed to know comparison of temperature variation and metal content in ceramic material and metal material which be used to rice cooker pan. Measuring method of temperature which be used is measuring voltage change of LM 35 which be converted to temperature unit. Measuring method of metal content which be used is using atomic absorption spectroscopy which focus in content of Cu, Cd and Al. Result of variation temperature research shows ceramic pan has homogeneous temperature variation and progressive temperature increase. Besides metal pan has non homogeneous temperature variation and extreme temperature increase. Result of metal contents research shows Cu, Cd and Al content in the ceramic pan are lower than in the metal pan. It shows that the ceramic pan is better to be used for rice cooker pan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pola anomali medan magnet di wilayah karst pada sistem sungai bawah tanah di sekitar Sungai Bribin. Lokasi penelitian berada pada jalur sungai Bribin di Kecamatan Semanu, Kabupaten Gunungkidul pada koordinat UTM 464061 mT sampai 464929 mT dan 9111097 mU sampai 9111970 mU. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode geomagnet. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan alat Proton Precession Magnetometer (PPM) tipe Geotron G5 dengan metode looping. Hasil analisis spasial terhadap pola anomali medan magnet daerah karst pada sistem sungai bawah tanah di Bribin menunjukkan bahwa nilai anomali medan magnet berkisar antara 330 nT - 530 nT. Nilai anomali medan magnet dengan kisaran antara 410 nT - 460 nT merupakan cerminan pola yang merepresentasikan sistem sungai bawah tanah. Secara spasial pola tersebut sesuai dengan pola sistem Sungai Bribin. Kata Kunci: Medan magnet, karst, bribin, analisis spasial.

Abstract

This research aims i) to determine the density profile and calculate the ground state energy of a quantum dot in two dimensions (2D) with a harmonic oscillator potential using orbital-free density functional theory, and ii) to understand the effect of the harmonic oscillator potential strength on the electron density profiles in the quantum dot. This study determines the total energy functional of the quantum dot that is a functional of the density that depends only on spatial variables. The total energy functional consists of three terms. The first term is the kinetic energy functional, which is the Thomas–Fermi approximation in this case. The second term is the external potential. The harmonic oscillator potential is used in this study. The last term is the electron–electron interactions described by the Coulomb interaction. The functional is formally solved to obtain the electron density as a function of spatial variables. This equation cannot be solved analytically, and thus a numerical method is used to determine the profile of the electron density. Using the electron density profiles, the ground state energy of the quantum dot in 2D can be calculated. The ground state energies obtained are 2.464, 22.26, 90.1957, 252.437, and 496.658 au for 2, 6, 12, 20, and 56 electrons, respectively. The highest electron density is localized close to the middle of the quantum dot. The density profiles decrease with the increasing distance, and the lowest density is at the edge of the quantum dot. Generally, increasing the harmonic oscillator potential strength reduces the density profiles around the center of the quantum dot.
