Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, (2) untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap model Problem Based Learning (PBL) selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai thitung = 2,59 dan ttabel = 1,672 dengan dk = 58 dan taraf signifikansi sehingga terlihat bahwa thitung >  ttabel yaitu 2,59 > 1,672. Hasil analisis angket respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa respon siswa positif terhadap model Problem Based Learning, yang berarti bahwa siswa termotivasi dalam belajar dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to know are (1) the influence of guided discovery method on students' mathematical communication ability; (2) whether students' mathematical communication skills taught by guided discovery methods are higher than those taught by expository methods; (3) the active activities of students taught by guided discovery methods. Sources of data in this study are students of class VII SMPN 1 Patumbak. Class VII-8 as a class of experiments are 30 people and class VII-6 as a control class are 32 people. Based on the analysis of research data, obtained the following results: (1) the results of analysis and regression obtained that the influence of guided discovery method has a positive effect with correlation coefficient 0.831 and coefficient of determination of 69%; (2) the result of t test analysis with tcount = 4.30 and ttable = 1.67 which means tcount> ttable, Ho is rejected which means mathematical communication ability of students who are taught by guided discovery method higher than students taught by method expository; (3) Based on the average level of students' active activity with guided discovery method at each meeting in phase-1 is 13.33%, phase 2 is 22.9%, phase-3 is 15.52%, phase-4 is 16.01%, phase-5 is 7.2%. This shows that with guided discovery method and ideal time tolerance limit the student's active activity is seen and support the mathematics learning process in the set material. So it can be concluded that guided discovery method affects the students' mathematical communication ability

Abstract

Abstract. The objectives of this study were (1) to describe the use of mathematics learning media assisted by the Lectora Inspire software to improve the number sense ability of students, (2) to describe the increase in the ability of students' number sense through mathematics learning media assisted by Lectora Inspire software. The ability of the number sense studied is related to ordinary fractional material. Indicator of the number sense ability in question is understanding the basic meaning of fractions, understanding the effect of operations on fractions and using appropriate calculations. This study is a classroom action research, carried out at SD Swasta Kartika I-2 Medan in the academic year 2018/2019. Based on the results of the study showed that the mathematics learning media assisted by the Lectora Inspire software in the developed class V SD fraction material was declared feasible to use because it could affect the students' number sense ability. Based on the results of the final test in cycle I, there were 15 students (41.67%) achieving KKM scores, while the final test results in cycle II obtained 31 students (86.11%) achieved the KKM score. Based on the results of the end of cycle I and II tests obtained as many as 16 students (44.44%) experienced an increase in the number sense ability related to fraction material. The results of the observation sheet for teacher and student activities in the first and second cycles are in good category. Thus it can be stated that there is an increase in the number sense ability of students through mathematics learning media assisted by the Lectora Inspire software.Keywords: Number Sense, Mathematics Learning Media, Lectora Inspire Software

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the preparation, implementation and assessment related to the implementation of the Batak Angkola culture-based Multiple Intelligences approach in the thematic learning of grade IV SD 100620 Pargarutan Julu, South Tapanuli District. This research uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive research type. The subjects of this study were grade IV teachers and grade IV students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the Multiple Intelligences approach in thematic learning in grade IV SD 100620 Pargarutan Julu, South Tapanuli Districttook place well. The teacher has used varied learning methods and strategies for the Batak Angkola culture, including using lecture and story methods for students who are superior in verbal-linguistic intelligence, demonstrations in ritual ablution for students who are superior in physical-kinesthetic intelligence. For students who excel in multiple intelligence, the teacher teaches with presentations that combine creative linguistic, mathematical and kinesthetic methods with creativity. The learning assessment is reviewed from 3 aspects namely; 1) cognitive by oral, written and assignment tests, 2) affective by observation and self-assessment, and 3) psychomotor with project and practice assignments. It can be concluded that the teacher has carried out activities to provide apperception and motivation and to carry out multiple intelligence-based activities to develop the nine types of intelligence, including: linguistic-verbal, mathematical-logical, visual spatial, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalist and existentialist. So with the implementation of the Multiple Intelligences approach, thematic learning is more fun and meaningful.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Lectora Inspire assisted mathematics learning media on the number sense ability of elementary school fifth grade students. This research is a development research using 4-D design that is Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate or adapted to 4-D model that is defining, designing, developing and distributing. The test sample was the fifth grade students of Medan Kartika I-2 Private Elementary School. Products developed after being declared valid by experts / experts, then tested. Product validation results are stated to be very valid. Based on the results of the validation of learning materials by 93.82%, instructional design by 91.03%, media experts on Lectora Inspire by 87.5%, student responses to Lectora Inspire amounted to 95.57% and the teacher's response to the Lectora Inspire amounted to 89.56 % in very good category. Based on the average value of the data gain the ability of the student's number sense is 0.70 in the high category. Increased ability of student number sense is 0.27. From the results of the analysis, it can be stated that by using Lectora Inspire assisted mathematics learning media in learning related to fractional materials can increase the number sense ability of students.

Abstract

Pembelajaran tematik merupakan salah satu pembelajaran yang memerlukan ide kreatif dan inovatif.Pembelajaran tematik dirancang untuk mewujudkan kondisi belajar yang bermakna bagi setiap siswa di kelas.Dengan demikian diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yaitu pendekatan Multiple Intelligences berbasis budaya Batak Angkola.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran tematik dengan pendekatan Multiple Intelligencesberbasis budaya Batak Angkola untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif.Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan observasi, angket dan wawancara.Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran tematik yang dilaksanakan dapat mengembangkan delapan kecerdasan yaitu kecerdasan linguistik-verbal, kecerdasan logis-matematis, kecerdasan spasial, kecerdasan musikal, kecerdasan kinestetik, kecerdasan interpersonal, kecerdasan intrapersonal dan kecerdasan naturalistik

Abstract

This study aims to explore the mathematical concepts that exist in the Gondang Batak musical instrument with the help of Geogebra so that it can be implemented in learning. This study uses exploratory qualitative research related to the Gondang Batak musical instrument. The results of this study indicate that there is a flat shape concept and a spatial concept in the Gondang Batak musical instrument. This can also be demonstrated by using Geogebra so that students better understand the mathematical concepts of the Gondang Batak musical instrument. It can be concluded that the Gondang Batak musical instrument can be used as a medium for learning mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels. In addition, students can also learn Batak culture, especially related to the Gondang Batak musical instrument.

Abstract

Abstract: Numeric Literacy in Elementary School PKMI Efesus Aek Batu. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the implementation of numerical literacy in learning, (2) efforts to overcome obstacles in numerical literacy, (3) supporting factors and (4) inhibiting factors of numerical literacy. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research are (1) the implementation of numerical literacy in learning based on three stages, namely the stages of habituation, development, and learning and according to the five indicators of numerical literacy. (2) The efforts made to overcome the obstacles in numerical literacy are in accordance with the literacy goals in schools. (3) The supporting factors are all school members who are the targets of implementing numerical literacy. And (4) the inhibiting factors are reviewed based on the class base, school culture and society.Keyword : Literacy, Numeric, Elementary SchoolAbstrak :Literasi Numerik di SD Swasta PKMI Efesus Aek Batu. Abstract

Mathematics belongs to its own thinkers, and every thinker has their own culture. So mathematics has an attachment to culture. Ethnomathematics emerged as a link between mathematics and culture. Ethnomathematics continues to evolve and embrace a wider range of studies with a cultural and social center. So the shift in focus towards the ethnomathematical paradigm is inevitable. This study identifies several philosophers' thoughts about the perspective of research results in the field of ethnomathematics. The debating paradigm in culturally based mathematical research. This study aims to describe ethnomathematics from various perspectives; the research method used is literature study. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: There are two paradigms related to the study of ethnomathematics, namely ethnomathematics as a cultural practice and ethnomathematics as a theory to analyze something different. There are various perspectives in ethnomathematical research, (1) there are several perspectives on ethnomathematics as a cultural practice, including ethnomathematics as a mathematicizing activity, the NUC system, mathematical analysis activities, mathematics projects, ethics, and ethnomathematics or mathematics. (2) as a theory, ethnomathematics can be looked at from different points of view, such as the QRS system, analogy mathematical activity, location interpretation, emic, and ethnomathematics and mathematics

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical problem solving skills in learning mathematics at SMP Negeri 31 Medan. The research method used in this research is quasi-experimental method or pseudo-experiment, and the type of data used is quantitative data. This research uses Pretest-Posttest Control Group research design. The research instrument used is a problem solving ability test, while the data processing technique used in this study is a two-party t test hypothesis test with a significance value of 0.05 and the sample is taken randomly with a total of 62 students. The Lcount value of the experimental class posttest is 0.103 while the Ltabel value is 0.159 with a significance level of 0.05, so it can be concluded that Lcount < Ltabel (0.103 < 0.159) then both classes are normally distributed (HO rejected). The experimental class posttest Fcount value is 0.748 while the Ftabel value is 0.543, with a significance level of 0.05, so it can be concluded that Fcount> Ftabel (0.748> 0.543) then HO is rejected which means the sample comes from a homogeneous data group. Based on the two-party t test statistical test with dk = n1 + n2 - 2 with a significance level of 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical problem solving skills.
