Abstract

Science is learned by bringing real objects in daily life into the classroom. Therefore, the props are needed in learning science to make it easier for students to observe the concepts of science contained in an object. However, not all schools have good props to use in learning. This dedication to society aims to provide props that can be used as a medium of physics learning at SMA YPK Merauke. The props are accompanied by bilingual guides so that students can learn physics and English at the same time. The devotional activities were carried out through the introduction of props to physics teachers, demonstrations on how to use bilingual tools and guides, and mentoring. At the end of the activity, physics teachers were given a user response sheet to find out the teachers' perception of the props given. The results of the user response sheet show that the props can be appropriately used as a learning medium. Then, more props are needed to be given to schools in Merauke that do not have good props. Abstrak Sains dipelajari dengan membawa objek yang nyata di kehidupan sehari-hari ke dalam kelas. Oleh karena itu, alat peraga diperlukan dalam belajar sains untuk memudahkan siswa mengamati konsep-konsep sains yang terdapat pada suatu objek. Akan tetapi, tidak semua sekolah memiliki alat peraga yang memadai untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan alat peraga yang dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran fisika di SMA YPK Merauke. Alat peraga tersebut disertai dengan panduan bilingual agar siswa dapat belajar fisika dan Bahasa inggris secara bersamaan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui pengenalan alat peraga kepada guru fisika, demonstrasi cara penggunaan alat dan panduan bilingual, serta pendampingan. Di akhir kegiatan, guru-guru fisika diberikan lembar respon pengguna untuk mengetahui persepsi guru-guru terhadap alat peraga yang diberikan. Hasil lembar respon pengguna menunjukkan bahwa alat peraga dapat digunakan dengan baik sebagai media pembelajaran. Ke depannya, diperlukan lebih banyak alat peraga untuk diberikan kepada sekolah-sekolah di Merauke yang belum memiliki alat peraga yang memadai.

Abstract

Independent learning needs to be supported by independent learning media so that student's interest in learning is increasing.Low interest in physics at junior high school level causes students to be indolent to learn.Therefore, supporting learning media are needed that can foster students' interest in learning physics. This research focuses on developing a product in the form of an isomorphic physics comic for the Vibration and Waves series which is an independent learning media. This study uses the DDDE development model, namely the stages of decide, design, develop, and evaluate. Following the development stage used in this study, it carried out a feasibility and effectiveness test. The results of the feasibility test analysis using SBi (ideal standard deviation) obtained an average score of 85 which was interpreted into the product quality criteria in the "Very Good" category. Furthermore, the effectiveness test was carried out by testing on a small scale, and then the results were analyzed using simple statistics to obtain the results that 91.7% of students expressed "interest" in learning to use "isomorphic physics" comics. Thus, the use of " the isomorphic physics" comic series Vibration and Waves in physics learning at the junior high school level can increase students' interest in learning.

Abstract

The generic science skills are the basic abilities that must be possessed by every student who studies science. This ability consists of various indicators namely direct observation, indirect observation, symbolic language, logical inference, causal relations, mathematical modeling, and construct concepts. This study only focused on indicators of symbolic language, causal relationships, and mathematical modeling. This research is a correlation study that aims to find out the relationship between symbolic language abilities and causal relationships on mathematical modeling abilities in physics subjects. The results of the study indicate that there is a relationship in the ‘sufficient’ category between symbolic language abilities and causal relationships to mathematical modeling abilities in physics subjects. Suggestions for further researchers are that in the learning process it should focus on the science process, which needs to guide students to develop their generic abilities in science, especially physics.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process are intended to give optimum transformation to student’s knowledge. Hence, assessment process revealed students not always success to reach targeted learning outcomes. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine students’ resistance in learning and solving wave and vibration questions. The type of this research is pre-experimental with one shot case study design. The samples were students of eighth class consist of 32 students. The data collecting instrument was 25 multiple choicle questions as learning outcomes test. Based on the result, it can be determined: (1) students who completed individually as many as 5 people out of 24 students. (2) classical completeness is only obtained by 21% of students who have completed so that they have not reached the standard of completeness. (3) TPK com-pleteness for cognitive THB was 2 TPK (17%) of the total TPK. (4) The percentage of difficulty in the C2 aspect for difficulties in explaining concepts is 20.14% with very low difficulty criteria. (5) The percentage of students' difficulty in the C3 aspect for unit conversion difficulty is 56.55% with moderate difficulty criteria, writing formulas is 34.52% with low difficulty criteria, arithme-tic operations are 52.38% with moderate difficulty criteria and the final answer is 63.10%. The percentage of students' difficulty in the C4 aspect for unit conversion difficulty is 62.50% with high difficulty criteria, writing formulas is 45.83% with moderate difficulty criteria, arithmetic operations are 58.33% with moderate difficulty criteria and the final answer is 100%.Keywords: Resistance of physics questions solving, students’ learning outcomes, wave and vibra-tion. ABSTRAKKegiatan belajar mengajar diharapkan dapat memberikan perubahan pengetahuan yang optimal bagi siswa. Namun, proses pengukuran mengungkapkan bahwa siswa-siswa tidak selalu mencapai hasil belajar yang ditargetkan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kesulitan dalam belajar dan memecahkan soal-soal getaran dan gelombang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Pre-Experimental menggunakan desain one shot case sttudy. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-2 dengan jumlah 32 siswa. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal Tes Hasil Belajar (THB) pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 25 soal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh; (1) siswa yang tuntas secara individu sebanyak 5 orang dari 24 siswa, (2) ketuntasan secara klasikal hanya diperoleh 21% siswa yang tuntas sehingga belum mencapai standar ketuntasan, (3) ketuntasan TPK untuk THB kognitif sebanyak 2 TPK (17%) dari keseluruhan TPK, (4) persentase kesulitan aspek C2 untuk kesulitan menjelaskan konsep sebesar 20.14% dengan kriteria kesulitannya sangat rendah, (5) persentase kesulitan siswa pada aspek C3 untuk kesulitan konversi satuan sebesar 56,55% dengan kriteria kesulitan sedang, menuliskan rumus sebesar 34,52% dengan kriteria kesulitan rendah, operasi hitung sebesar 52.38% dengan kriteria kesulitan sedang dan jawaban akhir sebesar 63.10%. Persentase kesulitan siswa pada aspek C4 untuk kesulitan konversi satuan sebesar 62.50% dengan kriteria kesulitan tinggi, menuliskan rumus sebesar 45.83% dengan kriteria kesulitan sedang, operasi hitung sebesar 58.33% dengan kriteria kesulitan sedang dan jawaban akhir sebesar 100%.Kata kunci: Getaran dan gelombang, hasil belajar, kesulitan penyelesaian soal fisika.

Abstract

Kompleksitas permasalahan pembelajaran 4.0 dapat diatasi dengan penggunaan teknologi. Akan tetapi, tidak semua guru mahir memanfaatkan teknologi untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Untuk itu, program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru di SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya tentang blended learning dan aplikasi-aplikasi pendukungnya. Metode yang diberikan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, tutorial, dan demonstrasi. Konsep blended learning dan variasi model terapannya dikenalkan kepada para peserta pelatihan. Kemudian, aplikasi cisco webex dan mentimeter dilatihkan penggunaannya melalui tutorial dan demonstrasi sebagai aplikasi pendukung blended learning. Cisco webex meeting dapat digunakan guru untuk terhubung dengan peserta didik dari jarak jauh melalui video conference, sedangkan mentimeter dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Dari pelatihan ini dihasilkan lima Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) yang dikerjakan secara berkelompok oleh peserta pelatihan dengan menerapkan media cisco webex dan mentimeter. Hasil dari pelatihan ini dapat mendorong guru untuk mulai mengaplikasikan teknologi pada pembelajaran agar efektif dan efisien. The problem complexities in learning 4.0 can be solved by using technologies. However, there is a lack of teacher skills in applying technology to enhance the learning process. Therefore, this dedication to society program aims to train teachers in SMAN 4 Palangka Raya about blended learning and its supporting media. The given method was the lecture, question and answer, tutorial, and demonstration. The blended learning concept and its model variations were introduced to trainees. Then, the Cisco Webex meeting and Mentimeter were trained to them by tutorials and demonstrations as supporting media of blended learning. The Cisco Webex meeting can be used by teachers to stay connected to students by video conference, while the Mentimeter can be used to improve students' engagement in the learning process. From this training, five lesson plans were produced in groups by the trainees using cisco Webex and Mentimeter. Hopefully, this training can encourage teachers to start applying technology to learning to be effective and efficient.

Abstract

The learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic becomes monotonous and make students tired. Therefore, there is needed for a learning media based on gamification that can support online learning. This research was conducted to develop an android application that can be used in physics learning, especially in momentum and impulse materials. This program is an application based on gamification and more attractive for students. The developed application is called Physics Isomorphic (FORFIS). This research uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation) as development phases. The research data were obtained from a questionnaire containing 27 statements and analyzed using the ideal standard deviation score. The mean score result by expert judgement is 132.29, which is in the "excellent" category. The Application of Isomorphic Physics (FORFIS) is declared feasible to be used as a medium of physics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to map the ability to develop assessment instruments owned by physics teachers, especially in the Merauke district. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Respondents who were involved in this study were 14 respondents who were physics teachers in Merauke. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire containing 25 statements. The data of the research results were analyzed using the Ideal Standard Deviation. Overall, physics teachers’ competence in constructing and analyzing items is in the “good” category, with an average of 90.5. However, some assessment indicators need to be improved, such as reviewing objectives of constructing test instrument, content validation, revising based on validator’s suggestions, and analyzing the items.

Abstract

The general objective of this strengthening technical guidance program is to provide technical guidance to elementary school teachers on the integration of ICT in science/physics learning in junior high/high school. The specific objectives of this program are to produce (1) a design for integrating ICT in science/physics learning, (2) task packages for integrating ICT in science/physics learning, (3) developing media and teaching materials based on integrating ICT in learning. To achieve the specific objectives of this program, several stages of development were carried out referring to Thiagarajan (1974), known as the Four-D model, namely (1) the Define stage which included analysis of the science/physics curriculum, theoretical assessment of science/physics material, and formulation of science/physics. Physics with appropriate tasks, (2) the Design phase includes: writing ICT integration tasks, and formulating instructions for implementing tasks for teachers and students, (3) the development phase includes: limited trial (two partner teachers), analysis of test results, revision of test results package, and review and evaluation by, and (4) the dissiminate stage includes: expansion of package use test, and monitoring and evaluation of package use. The benefits that can be obtained from this program are: (1) the design package for integrating ICT in science/physics learning can be a guide/examples in learning. (2) the application of ICT integration design packages in science/physics learning can improve teachers' understanding of several ICT integration techniques in learning, and (3) this ICT integration design package in science/physics learning can be recommended to the government, in particular.

Abstract

Competency in arranging and analyzing questions is essential for a teacher. This research was conducted to mapping the percentage and criteria of high school teachers' competency in Merauke District in preparing and analyzing the items question. The research included quantitative research by survey method. The data were collected using questionnaires with Likert scale. The obtained data were then analyzed using the Ideal Standard Deviation. The analyzed results showed the percentage of competencies of high school teachers in Merauke District in preparing and analyzing the question items is 74.66% which are in the "good" category, and the criteria for the quality of high school teachers' competencies in Merauke District in preparing and analyzing the question items are on the "good" criteria with an average score of 93.33. The results of the analysis based on aspects, the average teacher competency score in arranging the question item is 55.11 which is in the category of "good" while the competence of teachers in analyzing the question item is 36.86 which is in the category of "sufficient". Based on this, it is necessary to follow up to improve the competence of high school teachers in Merauke district in analyzing items question.

Abstract

Efektivitas dari penerapan e-learning di perguruan tinggi pada situasi pandemi Covid 19 dipengaruhi beberapa faktor. Faktor yang paling penting adalah kesiapan mahasiswa menggunakan ­e-learning dalam proses perkuliahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kesiapan mahasiswa pendidikan fisika dalam menggunakan e-learning. Dengan mengetahui tingkat kesiapan mahasiswa, dosen dan pemangku kebijakan dapat mempersiapkan kebijakan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei. Kesiapan mahasiswa menggunakan e-learning diukur dengan menggunakan angket kesiapan mahasiswa. Angket kesiapan mahasiswa yang dikembangkan berdasarkan pada instrumen model Aydin dan Tasci. Angket kesiapan mahasiswa ini memiliki 25 pernyataan dengan 4 indikator. 75 mahasiswa pendidikan fisika dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil pengisian angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode suksesif interval kemudian dikategorikan ke dalam skala penilaian kesiapan e-learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika UNY termasuk dalam kategori siap pada 3 indikator dan tidak siap pada 1 indikator. Hal ini dapat dijadikan evaluasi bagi para dosen dan pemangku kebijakan agar kesiapan mahasiswa dapat lebih ditingkatkan.    Analysis of e-learning readiness on physics education students during Covid-19 pandemic AbstractThe effectiveness of e-learning implementation in University during Covid-19 Pandemic is depending on several factors. The most important factor is the readiness of students using e-learning in the studying process. The aim of this research is to know physics education student’s readiness in using e-learning. By knowing student’s e-learning readiness, lecturer and stakeholders would be able to prepare further development of e-learning. The method in this research is survey method. Student’s e-learning readiness is measured by using student’s e-learning readiness questionnaire. This questionnaire is developed based on Aydin and Tasci Model. This questionnaire has 25 statements and 4 indicators. 75 students involved in this research. The results are analyzed using successive interval method then categoryzed using e-learning readiness scale. The results show that Physics Education Students of UNY are ready in 3 indicators and not ready in only 1 indicator. This result could be an evaluation for lecturers and stakeholders to increase student’s e-learning readiness.
