Abstract

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) adalah pendekatan berbasis penelitian yang bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran melalui refleksi kritis dan evaluasi sistematis. Dalam pendidikan sejarah, SoTL dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir historis, analisis sumber, dan kemampuan penelitian mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggambarkan praktek pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam pendidikan sejarah bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak strategi pengajaran dan pembelajaran khusus terhadap keterlibatan mahasiswa calaon guru sejarah dalam pembelajaran sejarah, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan praktek pengajaran. Metode penelitian ini ialah menggunakan metode eksperimen di mana membandingkan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitiannya ialah terjadi peningkatan rata-rata sekitar 53,4% pada kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan praktek langsung dalam pembelajaran sejarahnya. Pembelajaran dengan melibatkan langsung mahasiswa dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan mahasiswa untuk menganalisis sumber-sumber primer dan sekunder, menyusun argumen sejarah, dan mengembangkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konten sejarah terutama dalam implementasi pengajaran sejarah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited innovation in history learning media in senior high schools, which results in monotonous learning processes and contributes to students’ low causality thinking skills. This condition highlights the need for instructional media that can encourage students to think critically in analyzing cause-and-effect relationships in historical events, as well as assist them in understanding the learning material more effectively. The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs for developing electronic thematic map media in history learning for Class X E-4 at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The focus of the research includes an analysis of students’ needs, curriculum analysis, resource analysis, and an analysis of the use of electronic thematic map media. The research subjects consisted of 28 students. This study employed a qualitative method using descriptive data, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and a pre-test administered to students. The findings indicate that students require more varied and interactive learning media, not merely text-based materials. Therefore, electronic thematic map media have the potential to serve as a solution for making history learning more engaging, supporting the development of students’ causality thinking skills, and achieving learning objectives more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a needs analysis on the use of innovative learning media in history subjects at SMAN 14 Padang. Students. Based on the results of classroom observations and interviews with teachers and students, information was obtained that the history learning process is still dominated by lecture methods and the use of textbooks. This condition causes students to be less active, have difficulty understanding the chronology of events, and have difficulty developing historical thinking skills. The needs analysis was conducted on four aspects, namely teacher conditions, student characteristics, availability of resources, and school facilities and infrastructure. The findings show that teachers have not utilized varied learning media, while students consider learning less interesting because it is limited to verbal explanations. Students need media that is contextual, interactive, and able to visualize historical events. Therefore, animated films are seen as relevant as an alternative learning media because they can increase motivation, clarify concepts, and support the development of students' historical thinking skills. This needs analysis becomes the initial basis for the development of animated film media based on the Independent Curriculum that is appropriate to the characteristics of 21st-century students.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan Artificial Intelligence (AI) sebagai alat pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis deep learning di SD Negeri 16 Sipora Jaya, Kecamatan Sipora Utara, Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai. Permasalahan yang dihadapi guru adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi AI, sehingga perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan kurang variatif dan belum mendukung pemahaman mendalam siswa. Program pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui tahapan persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, evaluasi, serta keberlanjutan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemberian materi, praktik langsung penggunaan aplikasi AI (ChatGPT, Google Teachable Machine, Quillionz), diskusi, serta pendampingan dalam menyusun modul ajar, bahan ajar digital, dan asesmen berbasis data. Hasil observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa guru memperoleh pemahaman baru, mampu menyusun rancangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis deep learning, serta lebih percaya diri dalam memanfaatkan AI dalam kegiatan belajar-mengajar. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kapasitas guru di daerah 3T, mendukung pemerataan akses pendidikan berkualitas, serta dapat dijadikan model implementasi pelatihan pemanfaatan AI di sekolah-sekolah lain di Indonesia.
