Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the tourism component of Cimande Village as well as its development plan as a sustainable tourism village. This study was carried out between 2018 and 2021, employing a qualitative method and a case study strategy. The technique of collecting data is through repeated in-depth observations, interviews, and literatures study. Data were analyzed using six (6) key components of tourism planning, namely tourist attractions & activities, accommodation, other tourist facilities and services, transportation, infrastructure, and institutional elements. Other analytical techniques used are internal and external factors analysis, as well as SWOT Matrix. The findings revealed that Cimande Village has a lot of tourism potential, especially in cultural and agricultural attractions. Its potentials can be mapped on 53 internal and external factors, as well as 22 plans for a sustainable tourism village development.

Abstract

Pentingnya pemahaman Sadar Wisata dan penerapan Sapta Pesona bagi masyarakat merupakan akar yang harus dimilki dalam mengembangkan suatu desa wisata berbasis masyarakat. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Wisata Sukajadi, termasuk dalam lingkup kawasan sentra pariwisata di Kabupaten Bogor. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat desa tentang Sadar Wisata dan Sapta Pesona sehingga diharapkan dapat menciptakan iklim yang kondusif, menumbuhkan partispasi masyarakat dalam pengembangan pariwisata di desanya. Program ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, permainan dan praktik, dihadiri oleh kelompok sadar wisata desa, kelompok ibu PKK, Karang Taruna, Ketua RT, pimpinan desa, BUMDES, dan turut dihadiri Ketua Asosiasi Desa Wisata Kabupaten Bogor pada saat praktik. Para peserta tampak sangat antusias dan gembira pada saat pembinaan, terlihat dari keaktifan para peserta dalam menjawab dan mengajukan pertanyaan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify tourism potential and a set of strategies for a competitive rural tourism development using a case study in Sukajadi Tourism Village, Bogor Regency, West Java. This study is a descriptive qualitative type with an exploratory case study approach. Primary data were obtained from deep field observation and interview with key informants, while secondary data was obtained from the results of literature studies and documentation. This research used identification analysis techniques of 11 tourism components modified from several experts, CHSE analysis, work program government (PROKER), market preferences, and SWOT analysis as well as SWOT Matrix. The result of this study was obtained great potential and 15 main strategies for the development of the Sukajadi Tourism Village which is currently starting to grow, namely making serious and aggressive efforts on the internal aspects of village tourism destination, as well as collaboration with tourism industry and  local governments to create a competitive rural tourism destination. An active and aggressive strategy is needed for the development of Sukajadi village as a competitive rural tourism destination, based on micro and macro perspectives.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of advertising, sales promotion and personal selling on the decision of guests to stay at a hotel in East Java. Data was collected through questionnaires, observation, documentation and literature review from March to July 2022. Data were analyzed quantitatively using multiple and simple linear regression techniques. The results showed that simultaneously, advertising, sales promotion and personal selling have a significant effect on purchasing decisions. However, partially, the Sales promotion variable has no significant effect, while Advertising and Personal Selling have a significant effect on the guest's decision to stay at Hotel Ilona.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to gain an understanding of the community's attitudes toward the development of Sawahlunto, West Sumatera, Indonesia as an industrial heritage tourism destination. This research used mix method – explanatory sequential design with a case study approach, to explore real conditions in life as well as a contemporary setting or context. Community attitudes were measured using questionnaires and deepened by interviews, observations, and focus group discussions. The finding of this study shows the enthusiasm of the local community in developing Obillin tourism in order to preserve as well as revitalize it so that it can benefit the community. The results of this study can be important for policymakers regarding sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

This study identifies the potential of tourism products in Sukajadi Village Bogor Regency based on ten (10) tourism components as well as its development strategy, which is currently included in the category of a newly developing tourist village. The results of this research are aggressive and serious development strategies in all aspects of the tourism component, namely increasing the quality and diversification of tourist attractions and activities, accessibility, improving the quality and quantity of tourism amenities, improving the quality of human resources & institutions, community support, land use, tourism industry cooperation, as well as marketing aspects. This research type is a descriptive qualitative with a case study exploratory approach. Primary data is obtained from direct observation and interviews with key informants, namely Pokdarwis and the Village Head, while secondary data is the result of literature studies and research documentation. The analysis technique of this research uses SWOT analysis and Matrix, analysis of the work program of the vision for tourism development of the Bogor Regency Government which refers to local government master plan for tourism development (RIPPARDA), and also analysis of the Cleanlines, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) guidelines.

Abstract

Planning is essential in developing a sustainable tourism destination. Good planning will explain the direction, facilitate performance evaluation and minimize negative impacts. This study aims to explore the perspectives of the local community, tourism village developers, policymakers, and experts as a strategic basis for an agriculture-culturally based tourism village development plan. This qualitative research was conducted in 2019-2022, using a case study strategy and an abductive approach. Data were collected through repeated observations, in-depth interviews, a qualitative survey, and literature studies from scientific book, journals, and mass media (websites). Data analysis was carried out qualitatively using CAQDAS NVivo. The results of the study outline the priority strategies for short, medium, and long-term programs in the development of tourism in Cimande Village. This study contributes to other researchers regarding other vital components that must be considered in developing tourism in rural areas, especially those based on culture, namely the commitment and participation of the local community and the local customary system.JEL Classification A13; B55; D69

Abstract

The development of Indonesian tourism formally began when there was a determination of tourism as an independent science, which then developed until it was finally able to become the leading of sector. However, this development is still not optimal, so a vision and mission for future tourism development is created which is summarized in the book of Indonesia Emas 2045. The purpose of this study is to describe the principle role of the great philosopher Auguste Comte in the development of Indonesian tourism. This research is a library study from various previous scientific papers, books, performance reports and notes, which are analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study describe the role of Auguste Comte's principles in the development of Indonesian tourism from the perspective of ontology, epistemology and axiology. Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the cultural potential and challenges of preserving the intangible cultural heritage and living culture of Cimande Tourism Village to enhance its development as a sustainable tourism destination. Research Methodology: A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and in-depth interviews involving cultural practitioners, POKDARWIS (tourism committees), local residents, and government officials. Results: The study identified nine key cultural elements, including Pencak Silat, traditional medicine, and local rituals, while highlighting 11 major challenges, including insufficient stakeholder support, low community participation, limited human resource capacity, and minimal use of digital marketing. Limitations: This study focuses on cultural preservation efforts, specifically in Cimande Tourism Village, using qualitative methods such as thematic analysis and CAQDAS NVivo, limiting its scope. Contribution: This study deepens the understanding of how local culture can promote sustainable tourism, particularly in rural areas rich in cultural traditions such as Cimande. These findings provide valuable insights for tourism village managers and local governments to balance cultural preservation with economic growth through tourism. Novelty: This study offers a comprehensive exploration of the integration of local culture with sustainable tourism development in Cimande Village, an area that has not been extensively studied.

Abstract

Pariwisata budaya kini menjadi salah satu tren pariwisata, yang juga merupakan bentuk perubahan dari mass tourism menjadi quality tourism. Dalam pariwisata warisan budaya, pengunjung dapat mempelajari lebih dalam tentang berbagai budaya leluhur yang memilki keunikan, dan nilai-nilai luhur bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji budaya sistem organisasi sosial dan kaitannya dengan proses pengembangan pariwisata di Kampung Naga, Jawa Barat. Kajian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kajian literatur, observasi lapangan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan secara tatap muka kepada Ketua adat, pemandu wisata, warga lokal, dan pengunjung di Kampung Naga. Data diolah secara kualitatif dengan melakukan triangulasi agar didapat data yang lebih berkualitas. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan gambaran budaya sistem organisasi sosial di Kampung Naga dan cara pendekatan yang tepat berkaitan dengan proses pengembangan pariwisata khususnya di desa budaya atau desa adat. Jumlah informan dan waktu penelitian yang terbatas merupakan kekurangan dari penelitian ini.Kata kunci: Pariwisata budaya kini menjadi salah satu tren pariwisata, yang juga merupakan bentuk perubahan dari mass tourism menjadi quality tourism.
