Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see how social support helps to cure cancer survivors. The source of this study consists of three research subjects who are a cancer survivor and three research informants. The sample selection used is the snowball sampling method. Research data are collected using natural observation methods and in-depth interview which are then arranged in verbatim form. The results shows that from the forms of social support, including emotional support, tangiable support, informational support, and companionship support, the most prominent is emotional support and with the existence of social supports, cancer sufferers can gain more confident andfeel more motivated to recover from cancer.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to see how the readiness of preschool children in entering primary school is distinguished by gender. The subjects in this study were 14 Kayata School Berastagi preschool students aged four and a half to seven years. Data was taken with the Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheidstest (NST) test to obtain a picture of children's school readiness. The research data were analyzed descriptively with a quantitative approach. The results obtained in this study, from ten aspects of school readiness, only from two aspects that show differences in readiness between male and female students. However, there were no significant differences in school readiness between Kayata School preschool students, neither male nor female. Keywords: school readiness, gender differences  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana kesiapan sekolah anak prasekolah dalam memasuki sekolah dasar yang dibedakan berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Subjek dalam penelitian ini 14 orang murid prasekolah Kayata School Berastagi berusia empat setengah hingga tujuh tahun. Data diambil dengan alat tes Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheidstest (NST) untuk memperoleh gambaran kesiapan sekolah anak.  Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini, dari sepuluh aspek kesiapan sekolah, hanya dari dua aspek yang menunjukkan perbedaan kesiapan antara murid laki-laki dan perempuan. Meskipun demikian, tidak ada perbedaan kesiapan  sekolah yang signifikan antara murid-murid prasekolah Kayata School yang laki-laki dan perempuan. Kata kunci: kesiapan sekolah, perbedaan jenis kelamin

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara gratitude dengan psychological well-being pada orangtua dari anak penyandang Talasemia di POPTI Bandung. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya hubungan positif antara gratitude dengan psychological well-being pada orangtua dari anak penyandang Talasemia di POPTI Bandung. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 243 orangtua dari anak penyandang Talasemia di POPTI Bandung menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Uji asumsi yang digunakan terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji linieritas. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS versi 17.0 for Windows. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mindfulness dengan psychological well- being pada atlet remaja difabel di National Paralympic Committee Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara mindfulness dengan psychological well-being. Sampel yang diambil untuk penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif, data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala mindfulness dengan butir 40 aitem dan skala psychological well-being dengan 36 butir aitem. Uji asumsi yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Data analisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara mindfulness dengan psychological well-being dengan koefisien korelasi Pearson Product Moment sebesar R = 0.278 dengan sig 0.005 (p < 0.05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sumbangan yang diberikan variabel mindfulness terhadap psychological well-being sebesar 0.77%, selebihnya 99.23% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan negatif antara harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif, dengan asumsi semakin tinggi harga diri, maka semakin rendah perilaku konsumtif dan sebaliknya semakin rendah harga diri maka semakin tinggi perilaku konsumtif. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 4 Medan sebanyak 119 orang yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Data diperoleh dari skala untuk mengukur harga diri dan perilaku konsumtif. Perhitungan dilakukan dengan melalui uji prasyarat analisis (uji asumsi) yang terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji linearitas.Analisis data yang digunakan adalah menggunakan korelasi Product Moment melalui bantuan SPSS 17 for Windows. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,844 dengan p sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sumbangan yang diberikan variabel harga diri terhadap perilaku konsumtif adalah sebesar 71.2% harga diri mempengaruhi perilaku konsumtif dan selebihnya 28.8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti kontrol diri, konsep diri, konformitas, body image, kepercayaan diri dan kepribadian narsistik. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hipotesis dapat diterima bahwa ada hubungan negatif antara harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif.

Abstract

Domestic violence give effect to early adulthood about marriage. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and observation. Respondents amounted to three people, with criteria premature adults who come from families that experienced domestic violence. The results showed that every subject perceives marriage in different ways according to the parents' marriage experience. Overview subject first wanted to marry and intend to do the same thing as her parents, the second subject consider that as the wife of the fair to receive treatment coarse husband, and a third subject assumes that he will do differently from perikahan parents and he wanted to know the couple before marriage so there is no domestic violence.

Abstract

The purpose in this study is to find out the relation between academic cheating and academic procrastinations. Academic procrastination is the act of someone who replaces the implementation of more important things with tasks that are not too important, or doing things that are more fun to do so that procrastinating important tasks to another day (Newton, 2014). The researchers assuming there was a positive relationship between variable academic cheating and academic procrastinations. Participants for this study collected by a disproportionate stratified random sampling method and the sample in this research are 139 students at SMA Yos Sudarso Medan. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.562 (p<0.05). These results show that there is a absolute and significant relationship between academic cheating and academic procrastinations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between transformational leadership and service quality. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership and service quality, assuming the higher the transformational leadership, the higher the service quality and vice versa. The research subjects used in this study were Darul Arafah Islamic Boarding School teachers in Lau Bakeri Deli Serdang, as many as 100 people. Data collection techniques using purposive sampling. The research data were obtained using transformational leadership scale and service quality. Analysis of the data used is to use product moment correlation through SPSS 17 for windows. The results of data analysis showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.532 and a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted, namely there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership and service quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out about the relationship between sense of humor and psychological capital. The hypothesis that the researchers propose in this study is that there is a positive and significant relationship between sense of humor and psychological capital, assuming that the higher sense of humor, the higher psychological capital and conversely. The selection of participants for this study use purposive sampling. The sample of this research is 89 employees that who are minimal 21 years old and work over 2 years on this company. The data that collected by the researchers comes from the results with a scale that has been prepared with reference from the theoretical dimensions used by the researchers to measure sense of humor and psychological capital using the SPSS 21.00 for windows. The correlation coefficient obtained was 0.902 (p<0.005). From this results, there is a positive and significant relationship between the variables, sense of humor and psychological capital. The results of this study contribute to the Industrial and Organizational Psychology sector in particular to increase psychological capital

Abstract

Conducted Research on employees at PT. Jaya Anugrah Sukses Abadi Medan to find out the relationship between work stress with work-life balance. All employees who work at PT. Jaya Anugrah Sukses Abadi Gatot Subroto Medan was made the subject of this research, totaling 120 people. The Sampling for this research based on the determination of a certain sample size with an error level of 5% with a population of 120 people, then used a sample of 89 people. The technique used for data analysis is the validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test. The test result on Pearson Product Moment Correlation prove that there is a strong and significant negaive relationship between work stress and Work-life balance with coefficient of -0.737 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05), and the value of R square (R²) = 0.543
