Abstract

Excessive physical exercise can increase the occurrence of oxidative stress, which is characterized by cell damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants found in Dayak Onion such as flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and vitamin C can be used as alternative ingredients to neutralize free radicals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dose and duration of administration of Dayak onion extract on malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in a rat model of the forced gum test, extraction of Dayak onions using 96% ethanol. The type if research is Randomized Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. Male Sprague Dawley rats aged 2 months (weighing 150-200g) were divided into 5 groups: K- (control group, rats not given Dayak Onion extract but underwent forced swimming test), K+ (rats given xanthine and forced swimming test), P1 (rats given Dayak Onion extract at a dose of 50 mg/200 rats body weight/day), P2 (rats given Dayak Onion extract at a dose of 100 mg/200 rats body weight/day), P3 (rats given Dayak Onion extract at a dose of 200 mg/200 rats body weight/day). Dayak Onion extract was administered for 21 days with for 21 days with forced swimming test treatment, and changes in MDA levels were observed. The results showed that the administration of Dayak onion extract at a dose of 50 mg/200 rats/day, 100 mg/200 rats/day, and 200 mg/200 rats/day had an effect on preventing the increase in MDA, but at a dose of 200 mg/200 rats mice/day is the optimal dose. The conclusion is administration of Dayak Onion (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr) significantly decreased MDA levels in male Sprague Dawley rats with forced swimming test model.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is determine relationship and implementation of physical education in International Primary Curriculum (IPC) as an international curriculum. IPC is comprehensive, thematic, dynamic and global-minded curriculum. The implementation of a structured and planned curriculum allows students to adapt to global challenges in the future. The research method is descriptive qualitative research. As a result, implementation of physical education in IPC has been determined by school through the latest update data. The choosen theme is then adjusted to school goals, local culture, student needs. The conclusion is that IPC is very dynamic so that it can be harmonized to achieve the school goals by adjusting the culture of the local culture, conditions of students and schools.

Abstract

Purpose: This study was to analyze the administration of breadfruti leaf extract to changes in biochemical parameters and renal histology in hyperoxaluria rats.Methodology: The experimental study used 6 groups, each of 5 mice that are EG, Normal, Vitamin E, an ethanol extract of breadfruit 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg BW. Blood data for the analysis of biochemical parameters and kidney were taken at the end of the experiment for histological analysis of kidney changes. Results: Research shows that the purified ethanol extract of breadfruit leaf can prevent increases in MDA levels, reduce creatinine and BUN levels, increase body weight, prevent hypertrophy and kidney damage Conclusion: Purified ethanol extract of AA leaves has an antioxidant, nephroprotective activity, protect kidney inflammation, and kidney damage in nephrolithiasis rats and the effective dose is 400 mg/kg BW. The higher the extract dose, the more effective to reduce the biochemical and histopathological parameters in hyperoxaluria rats.Applications/Originality/Value: as a basis for futher studies of molecular biology in the prevention of kidney disorder.

Abstract

Flexibility is an important basic component in sports activities, which supports the achievement of the maximum performance of an athlete. Exercises are needed for stretching proper this study aimed to determine: (1) the effect of passive static stretching on shoulder flexibility, (2) the effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching on shoulder flexibility (3) determine which exercise is better on shoulder flexibility between stretching and PNF. the method used is experimental with pretest and post-test design. The research sample was 16 students of the Sport Coaching Education study program, Faculty of Sport, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. research data was obtained using the sit and reach test. Data analysis using an independent sample test with the help of the SPSS 22.0 program. The results of the study (1) passive static stretching effect on togok flexibility, the test results show the value of sig. 0.00 < 0.05. (2) practice PNF affects the flexibility of stakes. The study results show that both passive tactical stretching exercises and PNF exercises have a significant effect on increasing flexibility, but empirical data states that PNF exercise is more effective in increasing flexibility.
