Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of education in Indonesia are carried out through improving infrastructure, competent educators, and improving the quality of graduates. However, the quality of education in some areas still needs attention. One of them is the amount of material content that is not proportional to the applied learning model. The use of expository learning models has become a habit for most teachers in Indonesia. Even though the implementation of the learning causes low learning outcomes and student participation. The application of participatory learning can be done through group activities and critical thinking. This study aims to determine the role of think pair square learning in participatory learning. This study uses a quantitative approach by determining the sample class through the cluster-sampling-area technique. The experimental class applies the think pair square cooperative learning model and the control class applies the expository learning model. Data retrieval is done through the method of learning outcomes tests, questionnaires and observations. The results showed an increase not only in student learning participation, but also in student learning outcomes. The involvement of students in learning activities caused through group activities led to high student participation in the experimental class by 26% compared to the control class by 2%. The application of participatory learning that is carried out effectively is able to increase student participation in learning activities. This is shown through students' self-confidence when interacting in one group to another.

Abstract

Barefoot processing is widely used as food products in Indonesia and one of the products is cracker. Therefore, production of high quality cracker is required to study the proportion of ingredients. The aim of this study was to determine the best proportion of tapioca, chicken skin and chicken leg bone towards cracker quality. The cracker was treated based on proportion (g) of tapioca, chicken skin and chicken leg bone as follows: T1 (100:50:0), T2 (100:0:50), T3 (100:25:25), T4 (100:33:17), T5(100:17:13), T6 (80:70:0), T7 (80:0:70), T8 (80:35:35), T9 (80:47:3), T10 (80:23:47). The experiment was arranged by randomized block design (RBD), which were run triplicate, thus all samples were obtained 30 experiment units. The observed variables were classified by chemical analysis (protein, water, Ca), physical analysis (degree of expansion and mass expansion), and sensory evaluations (color, aroma, flavor and crispiness). The data was analyzed using ANOVA followed by HSD 5 % and the organoleptic were analyzed by Friedman test. The results were significantly different based on protein and color. However, the datas were not significantly different based on taste, aroma, crispiness, degree of expansion and mass expansion. T5 was identified as best characteristic, notably the proportion of tapioca:chicken skin:chicken leg bone was 100:17:33. Its characteristic based on protein, moisture, calcium, mass expansion, degree of expansion were 3.96 %, 10.24 %, 176.8 mg/100g, 0.20 %, and 5.97%, respectively. In the other hand, sensory value based on color, aroma, flavor and crispiness were 5.07 (like), 4.7 (rather like), 5.03 (like), and 5.33 (like), respectively.

Abstract

When Islamic philosophy is discussed, it is imagined that there are several figures who are called Muslim philosophers such as Al-Kindi, Ibn Sina, Al-Farabi, Ibn Rushd, Al-Ghazali, and so on. The presence of these figures is indeed unavoidable, because from them we can get to know Islamic philosophy, but also because in them the seeds of Islamic philosophy were developed. (Daulay & Dahlan, 2021) Sufism in Islam goes through various phases and conditions. In each phase and condition that it goes through, only some aspects are contained. Regarding the moral aspect, in the Qur'an there are many verses that encourage asceticism, patience, surrender to Allah, willingness, love, faith, simple living, and everything that is required of every Muslim as the perfection of faith. The Qur'an itself states that the Messenger of Allah is the best role model for those who want to perfect themselves with these virtues in their most noble form (alTaftazani, 2003, pp. 10-11). The thoughts of Sufi figures in the study of Sufism are very diverse in form and each Sufi has different characteristics even though the estuary is the same, namely towards al-Haq (Allah swt.). For example, Ibn Arabi with his concept of wahdat al-wujud, al-Halaj with the concept of hulul, Rabiah al-Adawiyah with the concept of mahabbah and many more.

Abstract

This article explores the dynamics of Islamic educational thought through the perspective of three influential figures: Al-Ghazali, Ikhwan al-Shafa, and Ibn Khaldun. Al-Ghazali, representing the conservative school, emphasizes education as a process of character building and drawing closer to Allah. Ikhwan al-Shafa, with their rational-religious school, emphasizes the importance of logic, observation, and dialectics in acquiring knowledge. Ibn Khaldun, as a representative of the pragmatic school, emphasizes education that is oriented towards social contribution and based on reality. This article analyzes the fundamental differences and contemporary relevance of these three schools, showing that an ideal Islamic education is one that can unite the three schools within the framework of an adaptive and responsive curriculum.

Abstract

This article explores the nature of the philosophy of Islamic education and its integration with the philosophy of mathematics in the learning process. The philosophy of Islamic education is rooted in the Qur’an and As-Sunnah and is further reinforced by the thoughts of Muslim philosophers. It encompasses three main aspects: ontology (the nature of existence), epistemology (the sources and methods of acquiring knowledge), and axiology (values and purposes). Islamic education aims not only to shape individual character but also to build a holistic educational system based on Islamic values. In this context, education is not merely a process of knowledge transfer but a means of fostering moral and spiritual development in learners. On the other hand, the philosophy of mathematics from the perspective of Islamic education emphasizes that mathematics is not solely an exact science of arithmetic, but also a discipline closely related to ethical and moral values in Islam. Mathematics is viewed as part of the divine order of Allah’s creation, reflecting His greatness. Therefore, the integration of Islamic educational philosophy and mathematical philosophy in learning offers a deeper approach to mathematical concepts. This approach not only enhances students’ cognitive understanding of the material but also instills spiritual awareness and values of faith and piety. By combining scientific and religious aspects, the learning process becomes more systematic, meaningful, and aligned with the comprehensive goals of Islamic education.

Abstract

Islamic education is not only aimed at transferring knowledge, but also at forming a complete human being through the development of spiritual, intellectual, and moral aspects. Surah Al-Fatihah as the opening of the Qur'an contains educational values that are very relevant to be used as a foundation in forming human awareness of Allah in the educational process. This article examines the concept of Islamic education through three main terms, namely at-tarbiyah, at-ta'lim, and at-ta'dib, and identifies educational values in Surah Al-Fatihah such as the values of faith, worship, sharia, and stories as instruments of character formation. In addition, the discussion focuses on the role of Surah Al-Fatihah in building the spiritual awareness of students and strengthening the vertical relationship with Allah SWT. The results of the study show that Surah Al-Fatihah is not only a ritual reading, but also an integrative and applicable framework of values in Islamic education. By making this Surah the foundation of learning, the educational process can be directed to produce perfect human beings who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also spiritually strong and have noble morals.

Abstract

Modern education often emphasizes cognitive and technological aspects, while spiritual aspects are often neglected. In fact, in Islamic educational philosophy, the integration of spiritual values is an important part in forming the character of students who are moral and competitive. This study aims to (1) analyze the concept of Islamic educational philosophy from the perspective of integrating spiritual values, (2) identify spiritual values that can be integrated into the modern education system, and (3) explore effective strategies in their implementation. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach to relevant sources. The results of the study indicate that Islamic educational philosophy emphasizes a balance between intellectual and spiritual aspects to form individuals who have high moral awareness. Spiritual values such as monotheism, morals, and worship can be adapted into a modern curriculum through contextual and experience-based learning methods. The implementation of this integration strategy includes a holistic approach in the curriculum, teacher training, and the creation of a learning environment that supports the spiritual growth of students. Thus, the integration of spiritual values in modern education contributes to the formation of a more complete and balanced character.

Abstract

This study aims to dissect the sociological and psychological dimensions of the Ande-Ande Lumut folktale through a compilation of William R. Bascom's functionalism theory and Alan Dundes's psychoanalytic expression theory. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a library study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation of Ande-Ande Lumut narrative texts from various written sources. Data analysis techniques used content analysis methods that integrate narrative units into Bascom's four folklore functions and symbolic identification based on Dundes's mental image theory. The results of the study indicate that the Ande-Ande Lumut narrative operates as an effective instrument of social control in upholding norms of loyalty and traditional morality in Javanese society. Psychoanalytically, the characters of Klenting Kuning and Yuyu Kangkang are found to be forms of collective identity projection that express the tension between inner desires and social boundaries (ego and superego). This study concludes that Ande-Ande Lumut is not merely entertainment, but a cultural mechanism that maintains social stability while also serving as a channel for sublimation for the psychological aspirations of its community.
