Abstract

The existence of transgender women (transwomen) cannot be taken for granted by society and even by their families because they have values and norms that are contrary to society. This thing make transwomen leave their families and environment and choose to join the transwomen community, one of them is the Srikandi Pasundan Community. The purpose of this study is to get an overview of the Srikandi Pasundan Community strategy in maintaining the existence of transwomen. Theory which used in this study, that is community development theory which put forward by Phillips and Pitman and social capital theory which put forward by Robert Putnam. Those theories could analyze existence of Srikandi Pasundan Community which is transwomen community started from background behind and position community, contribution of community for transwoman, impact of existence of community. This study used approach qualitative with method studies case for get results and analysis data. Technique collection data that conducted that is observation, Interview, and documentation. Results from study this showing that existence of Srikandi Pasundan Community have contribution and impact positive for transwomen and community.

Abstract

This research begins with an incident related to the problem of domestic violence. The acts of violence that occur are dominated by wives as victims. Even though there is violence, the wife of the victim of domestic violence chooses to survive rather than divorce. The decision is because the wife has the ability to rise from adversity which is called resilience. The resilience that occurs in the wife is influenced by various internal and external factors. The purpose of this research is to describe the factors of surviving wives which can be explained thoroughly to help other women be able to and overcome problems in the family sphere. Using a qualitative approach with case study methods and data collection techniques used in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study stated that the wifes survival factor was caused by internal factors such as still having feelings, and spirituality and external factors such as children, negative community stigma, economy, children, and social support.

Abstract

This paper discusses the practice of sexual violence perpetrated by religious leaders (kyai) against female students in Islamic boarding schools. Using the literature review research method, the researcher dissects the pattern that is often used by kyai in committing sexual violence, how it impacts, and how preventive measures can be taken. The results of this study show that there are two general patterns used by kyai as a tool to commit sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools. The first is the existence of a patriarchal culture that is eternal and has been institutionalized in the pesantren environment. Second, there is an unequal power relationship between the kyai and the santri. The impact experienced is to suffer physically, psychologically, theologically, and sociologically. Therefore, a gender mainstreaming program is needed to create a gender-sensitive and responsive pesantren through sexual education that is integrated into the pesantren curriculum which emphasizes awareness of gender issues and increases awareness for students as a preventive measure against sexual violence in pesantren.

Abstract

Abstract. This paper discusses the practice of sexual violence perpetrated by religious leaders such as ustadz, gus, or kyai against santriwati (female students) in Islamic boarding schools. The occurrence of several cases of sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools shows an urgency to be handled immediately, considering that sexual violence cases are still an iceberg phenomenon that is still rarely revealed, not reported, not reported, or even often covered up. With the literature review research method, the researcher dissects the pattern that is often used by religious leaders in committing sexual violence and how the impact is experienced by the victims (santriwati). As a result, in this study there are two general patterns used by religious leaders as a tool to commit sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools. First, the existence of a patriarchal culture that is eternal and has been institutionalized in the pesantren environment through the curriculum, learning materials, Islamic narratives which are often interpreted textually by the kyai, as well as the application of the concept of total santri obedience to the kyai which actually makes the position of santri, especially female students (santriwati) are at a disadvantage and have no bargaining power. Second, there is an unequal power relationship between the kyai and the santri. This can then normalize or even perpetuate the occurrence of sexual violence through abuse of authority. The impact experienced by victims/survivors (santriwati) of sexual violence is very deep, in which they have to suffer physically, psychologically, theologically, and sociologically. Abstrak. Paper ini membahas mengenai praktik kekerasan seksual yang dilakukan oleh pemuka agama seperti ustadz, gus, atau kyai terhadap santriwati (santri perempuan) di pesantren. Terjadinya beberapa kasus kekerasan seksual di pesantren menunjukkan adanya urgensi agar segera ditangani, mengingat kasus kekerasan seksual masih menjadi fenomena gunung es yang masih jarang terungkap, tidak diadukan, tidak dilaporkan, atau bahkan seringkali ditutup-tutupi. Dengan metode penelitian literatur review, peneliti membedah bagaimana pola yang seringkali dilakukan oleh pemuka agama dalam melakukan kekerasan seksual serta bagaimana dampak yang dialami oleh korban (santriwati). Hasilnya, dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua pola secara umum yang digunakan oleh pemuka agama sebagai alat untuk melakukan kekerasan seksual di pesantren. Yang pertama, adanya budaya patriarki yang abadi dan telah terlembagakan di lingkungan pesantren melalui kurikulum, materi pembelajaran, narasi keislaman yang seringkali ditafsirkan secara tekstual oleh kyai, serta penerapan konsep kepatuhan total santri terhadap kyai yang justru membuat posisi santri terutama santriwati (santri perempuan) berada pada posisi yang tidak diuntungkan dan tidak memiliki daya tawar. Yang kedua, adanya relasi kuasa yang timpang antara kyai dengan santri. Hal tersebut yang kemudian dapat menormalisasi atau bahkan melanggengkan terjadinya kekerasan seksual melalui penyalahgunaan otoritas yang dimiliki. Adapun dampak yang dialami oleh para korban/penyintas (santriwati) kekerasan seksual sangatlah mendalam, yang mana mereka harus menderita secara fisik, psikis, teologis, dan secara sosiologis.

Abstract

The PjBL model with the unification of Sasak ethnic nenun local wisdom in Sociology subjects with the nenun topic and social deviation at least gives students a new nuance in learning Sociology so that students are more motivated and have high enthusiasm in learning. The purpose of this study was to integrate the PjBL model with the Sasak ethnic nenun local wisdom in the subject of Sociology. This study used a literature review method, by trying to develop a PjBL learning model that is reviewed from various relevant references. The results of the research was the PjBL model of integrating Sasak ethnic nenun local wisdom in Sociology subjects which can be the basis for educational practice to realize independence, entrepreneurship, responsibility, perseverance, and thoroughness. With the application of local wisdom, it is also able to cultivate the spirit of student learning enthusiasm and students know their own wisdom which is full of good values, empowerment, especially in social and economic aspects, leadership, simplicity, social interaction, hard work, life advice. Added by combining the social media such as Instagram and Tiktok, these are very familiar to students so that it will also affect the Sociology learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the concept of wellness tourism based on local wisdom in the management of the Bilebante Green Tourism Village (DWH) in West Nusa Tenggara Province after the COVID-19 pandemic. Pierre Bourdiu's habitus and structural functionalism theories are used as analytical frameworks. Responding to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism and economic sectors, DWH Bilebante managers have implemented the concept of wellness tourism based on local wisdom to increase tourism attractiveness and maintain people's sources of income. This research use a desciptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data sources involve village heads, tourism village heads, MSME actors, and village assistants. The results showed that the Bilebante Green Tourism Village could apply the concept of wellness tourism based on local wisdom. This can be seen from the development of sports tourism, the construction of fitness therapy infrastructure and certified training for therapists, the introduction of traditional medicine such as peretuk and sembek, as well as training programs for cultivating and processing herbal plants in a sustainable manner. In addition, there is synergy between managers and stakeholders.

Abstract

Peran dan fungsi keluarga dalam realitasnya juga terjadi pada kelompok keluarga petani di Desa Tongkok, Kabupaten Lahat, Sumatera Selatan. Hal menarik dari keluarga petani di Desa Tongkok adalah pembagian peran dan fungsi keluarga yang terjadi khususnya ketika masa panen kopi. Tujuan penelitian yakni menguraikan peran dan fungsi keluarga dari masing-masing anggota inti seperti ayah, ibu, dan anak-anak dalam mengungkap realitas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi fenomenologi. Proses pengambilan data dengan data sekunder dan primer dengan wawancara terhadap enam orang dari dua keluarga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Desa Tongkok merupakan desa dengan komoditi kopi sebagai sumber daya alam dan petani merupakan mata pencaharian utama masyarakat. Pengelolaan rumah tangga dalam keluarga petani di Desa Tongkok didasarkan pada pembagian dan peralihan peran dan fungsi sementara setiap masing-masing anggota keluarga yang tidak terlepas dari konstruksi gender. Orang tua sebagai pemegang otoritas dalam keluarga umumnya menyerahkan tugas pengelolaan rumah tangga kepada anak perempuan. Upaya pembagian peran tersebut tidak terlepas dari komunikasi keluarga dan pemahaman yang baik terhadap kondisi masa panen kopi. Peran dan fungsi setiap anggota keluarga juga dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi gender khususnya pada peran suami dan istri. Adapun peran dan fungsi anak dalam keluarga menyesuaikan terhadap tugas yang diberikan orang tua.

Abstract

This research was conducted starting from the majority of Twitter users who expressed their disquiet about beauty privilege or special treatment for someone who was considered "meeting beauty standards". Therefore, it is important to examine how the form of beauty privilege becomes a form of symbolic violence. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, and the data collection techniques used are in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study state that forms of beauty privilege occur based on several environments such as the educational environment, work environment, family environment, friendship environment, and community environment.

Abstract

The involvement of women in politics is crucial for democracy. In the mythology and philosophy of Sundanese culture, women have a respected role and status in society that is equal to men. However, with the emergence of patriarchal culture during feudalism, women were placed as a subordinate class and men were deemed more suitable for leadership and decision-making in public affairs. This research examines the positive shift in social construction and Sundanese values regarding the leadership of Sundanese women and their role in modern politics. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through interviews with legislators, observation, and literature studies. The results show that in the modern era, there has been a positive shift in the social construction and cultural values of women's leadership in the political sphere. The public's view is becoming more open that women can be good leaders in the public domain, supported by the performance of Sundanese women legislators who exhibit political values such as awareness, openness, consultation, and flexibility in communication. However, Sundanese women still face obstacles in entering politics, especially issues of courage and self-confidence. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills of women in politics through the community, education, and organizations that support women as political leaders.Keywords: Leadership, Politics, Women, Sundanese AbstrakKeterwakian perempuan dalam ranah politik merupakan hal yang penting bagi demokrasi. Dalam mitologi dan filosofi kebudayaan Sunda, perempuan Sunda memiliki peran dan kedudukan terhormat dalam masyarakat yang setara dengan laki-laki. Namun, seiring masuknya budaya patriarki pada masa feodalisme, menempatkan perempuan sebagai subjek kelas dan laki-laki yang lebih layak menjadi pemimpin dan decision making dalam urusan publik. Penelitian ini mengkaji pergeseran konstruksi sosial dan nilai-nilai kesundaan dalam kepemimpinan perempuan sunda dan peran perempuan sunda dalam politik era modern. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan anggota legislatif, observasi dan studi literatur. Hasilnya bahwa di era modern, terjadi pergeseran positif dalam konstruksi sosial budaya mengenai kepemimpinan perempuan di dunia politik. Pandangan masyarakat semakin terbuka bahwa perempuan dapat menjadi pemimpin yang baik di ranah publik, yang didukung oleh kinerja anggota legislatif perempuan Sunda yang menunjukkan nilai-nilai politik seperti kesadaran, keterbukaan, musyawarah, dan fleksibilitas dalam berkomunikasi. Meskipun demikian, perempuan Sunda masih menghadapi kendala dalam memasuki dunia politik, terutama masalah keberanian dan kepercayaan diri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan perempuan dalam politik melalui lingkungan masyarakat, pendidikan, dan organisasi yang mendukung perempuan sebagai pemimpin politik.Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan, Politik, Perempuan, Sunda

Abstract

This research began with the discrepancy between Tasikmalaya City government regulations and farmers' actual experiences with Women Farmer Groups, in terms of fostering and facilitating farmer institutional empowerment. The goal of this study was to find out how much the Women Farmer Group's skills and welfare were improved by farming community empowerment. The study employs a qualitative approach. Observation, interviews, and documentation are the methods used in this study to collect data. The study's findings indicate that the empowerment measures for the Mawar Bodas Women Farmers Group (KWT) have not been fully implemented.
