Abstract

Abstract An inclusive society is a society that involves all elements and aims to empower and promote social, economic, and political diversity. In an inclusive society, everyone can participate effectively and live together. To realize an inclusive society, we need an understanding of the importance of an inclusive education system that has an important impact on the development and maintenance of education for all (Education for All / EFA). Inclusive education in Indonesia still has many gaps, including low acceptance from peers which can lead to acts of harassment / bullying. This harassment action arises because of the low understanding of the community especially peers towards individuals with special needs (IBK). Whereas support from peers is able to increase IBK interaction with other friends, increase IBK involvement in academic activities, social participation, initiate new friendships for IBK. For this reason, friends need to improve their empathy skills so that they can provide support for IBK. This community service activity is carried out to adolescents with discussion activities, peer tutoring, and role play to change perceptions and increase empathy for IBK   Key words –training, empathy, bullying, individual with special needs   Abstrak Masyarakat inklusif merupakan masyarakat yang melibatkan semua unsur dan bertujuan untuk memberdayakan dan mempromosikan keberagaman social, ekonomi, dan politik. Dalam masyarakat inklusif, semua orang dapat berpartisipasi secara efektif dan hidup bersama. Untuk mewujudkan masyarakat inklusif, diperlukan pemahaman akan pentingnya sistem pendidikan inklusif yang memiliki dampak penting dalam perkembangan dan mempertahankan pendidikan untuk semua (Education for All/EFA). Pendidikan inklusif di Indonesia masih terdapat banyak ketimpangan, diantaranya rendahnya penerimaan dari teman sebaya yang dapat berujung pada tindakan perundungan/bullying. Tindakan perundungan ini muncul karena rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat terutama teman sebaya terhadap individu berkebutuhan khusus (IBK). Padahal dukungan dari teman sebaya merupakan dapat meningkatkan interaksi IBK dengan teman-teman lainnya, meningkatkan keterlibatan IBK dalam kegiatan akademik, partisipasi sosial, memulai pertemanan baru bagi IBK. Untuk itu teman sabaya perlu meningkatkan kemampuan empati agar dapat memberikan dukungan bagi IBK. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan kepada remaja dengan kegiatan diskusi, tutor sebaya, dan roleplay untuk mengubah persepsi dan meningkatkan empati terhadap IBK.   Kata kunci –pelatihan, empati, bullying, individu berkebutuhan khusus

Abstract

Inclusive education in Indonesia continues to face significant challenges, particularly concerning infrastructure and human resources. A key obstacle is the lack of teacher competence in understanding the needs of students with special educational needs (SENs) and developing individualized education programs (IEPs). This deficit hinders the effective implementation of inclusive education in regular schools. The purpose of this community service was to enhance the knowledge and skills of teachers through a psychoeducation and IEP development training program at SDN 04 IX Korong, Solok City. The program consisted of two main activities: first, psychoeducation sessions on the characteristics, identification, and intervention strategies for students with special educational needs; and second, hands-on training to enable teachers to develop appropriate IEPs. The program's effectiveness was evaluated using the Kirkpatrick model, focusing on the reaction and learning levels. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in teacher competence. Post-test scores showed a 90% increase in participants' understanding and ability to identify and intervene with students with SENs. A paired-sample t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.005), indicating that the training successfully equipped teachers to manage diverse student needs and foster a more inclusive learning environment. The findings underscore the importance of continuous professional development for teachers to support higher-quality inclusive education at the elementary level, especially in schools lacking dedicated staff for students with special needs.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the variations in expressions of love across individuals, influenced by culture, environment, and upbringing. In Minangkabau society, which adheres to a matrilineal kinship system, differing social roles and values between men and women may influence love styles. The objective of this research is to examine gender-based differences in love styles among Minangkabau emerging adults in Padang City. A comparative quantitative approach was employed with a sample of 400 Minangkabau emerging adults (200 males and 200 females), selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a love styles scale based on John Lee’s (1973) theory, with a reliability coefficient of 0.924. The questionnaire was distributed online, and data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test due to non-normal distribution. The results reveal significant gender differences in the love styles of eros, ludus, storge, pragma, and agape, while no significant difference was found for mania. The study concludes that gender influences variations in love styles among Minangkabau emerging adults, reflecting a cultural construction in which women are ascribed more dominant interpersonal roles. The findings contribute to cross-cultural psychology literature on love and provide a foundation for developing culturally and gender-sensitive psychological interventions.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan fase perkembangan yang rentan terhadap perubahan fisik dan sosial, sehingga menjadikannya periode kritis dalam pembentukan harga diri (self esteem). Salah satu faktor yang dapat menurunkan self esteem adalah body shame, yaitu perasaan malu terhadap tubuh karena dianggap tidak memenuhi standar sosial atau budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body shame terhadap self esteem pada remaja di Kota Pariaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi linear sederhana. Populasi penelitian adalah remaja di Kota Pariaman dengan jumlah sampel 389 responden. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Skala Body Shame dan Skala Self Esteem. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi JASP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif yang signifikan antara body shame terhadap self esteem dengan nilai B = 0,388, F = 68,77, p = 0,000 (p 0,05), R = 0,388, dan R = 0,151. Hal ini berarti body shame memberikan kontribusi sebesar 15,1% terhadap variasi self esteem remaja di Kota Pariaman. Semakin tinggi tingkat body shame, semakin rendah self esteem yang dimiliki remaja. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan sosial dan pendidikan kesehatan mental untuk membantu remaja mengembangkan penerimaan diri yang positif di tengah tekanan sosial dan budaya yang berkembang di Kota Pariaman.

Abstract

Abstract. Individuals with intellectual disabilities may experience difficulties in recognizing emotions, understanding the cause-and-effect relationship of emotions, as well as problems with self-control, impulse inhibition, and emotional regulation. Emotional regulation is therefore an essential aspect in addressing issues related to managing emotions. Given the important role of emotional regulation for individuals with intellectual disabilities, there is a need for systematic intervention efforts, starting with an initial assesment. This study aims to identify interventions that can improve emotional regulation in individuals with intellectual disabilities. The study was conducted using a descriptive literature review. The inclusion criteria for the literature search were: (1) articles based on primary research, (2) focusing on emotional behavior or challenging behavior in individuals with intellectual disabilities, (3) full-text access available, and (4) published within the last 10 years (5) journals indexed from Sinta 5 up to Scopus.  The results of this review indicate that several interventions are effective in enhancing emotional regulation in individuals with intellectual disabilities. These include Differential Reinforcement of Alternative Behavior, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a combination of CBT and behavior-analytic approaches, psychomotor interventions, Leadership for Empowerment and Abuse Prevention (LEAP), assertive training, and Soles of the Feet meditation (UK SoF). Abstrak. Individu dengan disabilitas intelektual mungkin mengalami kesulitan untuk dapat mengenali emosi, memahami sebab-akibat dari emosi, serta memiliki masalah untuk mengendalikan diri, menahan dorongan diri, serta mengelola emosi. Regulasi emosi menjadi suatu hal yang penting dalam membantu masalah terkait pengelolaan emosi. Melihat pentingnya peran regulasi emosi bagi individu dengan disabilitas intelektual, maka dibutuhkan sejumlah upaya berupa intervensi yang sistematis seperti yaitu asesmen awal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui terkait intervensi apa saja yang mampu meningkatkan regulasi emosi pada individu dengan disabilitas intelektual. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan kajian literatur deskriptif. Kriteria inklusi dalam pencarian literatur yang digunakan yaitu 1) artikel berasal dari penelitian empris 2) berfokus terhadap perilaku emosional atau perilaku menantang individu dengan disabilitas intelektual 3) dapat diakses full text 4) terbit dalam 10 tahun terakhir 5) jurnal terindeks Sinta 5 hingga Scopus. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat sejumlah intervensi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan regulasi emosi pada individu dengan disabilitas intelektual diantaranya meliputi intervensi differential reinforcement of alternative behavior, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), perpaduan pendekatan CBT dengan analisis perilaku (behavior-analytic), psikomotorik (psychomotor), Leadership for Empowerment and Abuse Prevention (LEAP), pelatihan asertif (assertive training), serta meditasi Soles of The Feet (UK SoF).

Abstract

High school graduates in Indonesia's coastal areas, including Agam Regency, face high unemployment rates due to limited access to career information and curriculum gaps. This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of teachers at SMAN 1 Tanjung Mutiara in providing career guidance through digital module-based training using a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach. Twenty-two teachers participated in the training, which was evaluated using the Kirkpatrick model at the reaction and learning levels. The results indicated high participant satisfaction regarding the training materials and facilities. Furthermore, 81% of participants showed an increase in knowledge, supported by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test results showing a significant statistical increase (p < .001). The success of this program proves that digital module-based teacher training is effective in enhancing students' career readiness and expanding access to higher education in coastal regions.

Abstract

The Baduy community, residing in the Kanekes mountainous region, is known for its strong adherence to customary traditions and resistance to modernization. However, technological developments have prompted some members, particularly those from the Outer Baduy group, to adopt the internet and utilize social media for marketing their woven products. This study examines social media not only as a marketing tool but also as a psychosocial construct that reflects changes in how the Baduy people interact and build trust within digital networks. The research aims to explore the use of social media and its related constructs in the marketing practices of Baduy tenun sellers in Kaduketug Village, Banten. The study focuses on three constructs: rating and review, recommendation and referral, and forum and community. A case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews. The unit of analysis comprised 19 tenun sellers who use social media, of whom four were selected for intensive interviews. The findings reveal that WhatsApp and Facebook are the most frequently used platforms, followed by Instagram. Abstract

​ The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on educational systems worldwide, leading to widespread school closures and disruptions to early childhood education. This situation has affected the readiness of young children to progress to higher levels of education (elementary school). This study aims to examine differences in school readiness between kindergarten student groups before and during the pandemic. A comparative study design was used, assessing 36 kindergarten students, with 10 students from each group, using the Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST). The NST consists of 10 subtests measuring various aspects of school readiness, including cognitive, social-emotional, and physical developmental skills. Statistical analyses were conducted to compare school readiness profiles between the two groups. The results showed no statistically significant differences between the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic groups in terms of overall school readiness. However, univariate analysis indicated significant differences in Subtest 3 (understanding of size, quantity, and comparison) and Subtest 4 (accuracy and detail in visual perception), where the pre-pandemic group performed better than the post-pandemic group. The effect sizes for these subtests were considerable, indicating meaningful practical differences in these two abilities. These findings highlight the impact of educational disruptions on certain aspects of school readiness and underscore the need for targeted interventions to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic on early childhood education, especially regarding quantitative reasoning and visual perception skills.
