Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of story maps in increasing sustainable Geography awareness among Geography teachers. The advent of story maps has altered the current Geography education in the digital era. ArcGIS story maps are a type of user-friendly geospatial technology renewal. This story map is believed capable of helping students learn Geography more independently, transforming Geography education. This belief should be reinforced by implementing story maps on their own Geography teachers, who have low Geography literacy rates in general. This action research involved 67 Geography teachers who were members of the East Java Geography Teacher Working Group, with various backgrounds, ages, and teaching experiences. Learning is implemented using blended learning and the in-on-in model. With blended project-based learning, this research was conducted to solve problems related to high school teachers' low Geography awareness. To identify the effects of the treatment, the obtained data were analyzed using a different test with paired t-test. The findings showed that story maps could increase long-term geographic awareness, illustrated by the obtained significant level of more than 0.05. This success is influenced by teachers' knowledge and experience with geospatial technology, as well as their age. Although the ability to create story projects is limited, the use of story maps provides a meaningful experience for teachers to think, reason, and act geographically.

Abstract

Dusun Kedampul Desa Duwet memiliki potensi alam bambu yang melimpah. Sampai saat ini pemanfaatan bambu belum maksimal baik dari segi kuantitas dan kualitas padahal bambu dapat dijadikan berbagai kerajinan anyaman maupun non anyaman. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dipilihlah Dusun Kedampul Desa Duwet sebagai lokasi untuk melaksanakan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM). Kegiatan PKM yang dilaksanakan berupa pelatihan, dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: (1) tahap persiapan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan proses dan (3) tahap pemandirian. Pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari – November 2018 yaitu berupa kegiatan: pendidikan dan pelatihan kerajinan anyaman berbahan baku bambu. Beberapa manfaat praktis yang diharapkan dari pelaksanaan PKM, yaitu: (1) mereka mendapatkan informasi yang jelas dan utuh mengenai hakekat pemberdayaan masyarakat dari segi pengetahuan dan keterampilan, bermakna untuk penciptaan lapangan pekerjaan baru yang sifatnya inovatif dari kerajinan anyaman bambu; (2) masyarakat yang menjadi peserta pelatihan memperoleh gambaran yang jelas mengenai langkah pengembangan iklim usaha dengan memanfaatkan komoditas lokal; (3) peserta pelatihan juga mendapatkan gambaran yang jelas dan utuh tentang manfaat hasil komoditi lokal apabila dikelola dengan baik akan mendatangkan nilai finansial.

Abstract

The development of learning media is based on the problems that occur today, namely the lack of utilization of learning media in the learning process. The use of learning media at SMAN 1 is one of them. Most students use learning methods that are still monotonous, because there are still many who use monotonous and teacher-centered learning methods at school. The purpose of developing research is to produce innovative learning media products. The media intended to be an easy-to-use media in this case is the story map media. As per the development of the 21st century and the current 4.0 industrial revolution, which requires digital based media. The use of digital-based media in addition to being easy to use, also teaches students the usefulness of technology. The development model in this study follows the development model adapted from the ADDIE instructional design model which includes the analysis (design), design (development), development (implement) and evaluation stages. The results of the media feasibility trials in the field have a percentage of (75.9%) which states that it is feasible, while the percentage (24.1%) states that the media is very feasible. The results of the tests of understanding tests were obtained (82.7%) students were able to answer questions well. Based on the results of feasibility trials and understanding tests in the field stated that the media is feasible to use and effectively used to help the learning process at school. Pengembangan media pembelajaran ini didasarkan pada permasalahan yang terjadi saat ini yaitu kurangnya pemanfatan media pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran. Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran di SMAN 1 Tumpang salah satunya. Siswa kebanyakan menggunakan cara belajar yang masih monoton, karena di sekolah masih banyak yang menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang monoton dan terpusat pada guru. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian pengembangan yaitu menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Media yang dimaksudkan merupakan media yang mudah digunakan dalam hal ini adalah media story map. Sesuai perkembangan abad 21 dan revolusi industri 4.0 saat ini, yang membutuhkan media berbasis digital. Kegunaan media yang berbasis digital selain mudah digunakan, juga mengajarkan kepada siswa kegunaan dari teknologi. Model pengembangan pada penelitian ini mengikuti model pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari model desain instruksional ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implement) dan evaluasi (evalutation). Hasil uji coba kelayakan media dilapangan didapatkan persentase sebesar (75,9%) yang menyatakan layak, sementara persentase (24,1%) meyatakan media sangat layak. Hasil dari uji coba tes pemahaman didapatkan hasil (82,7%) siswa mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba kelayakan dan tes pemahaman dilapangan menyatakan bahwa media layak digunakan serta efektif digunakan untuk membantu proses pembelajaran disekolah.

Abstract

The need for land continues to increase in line with the rate of population growth. This limited land area in the city will trigger regional development to spread to the outskirts with sufficient land. From 2013 to 2019 the built-up land has increased to reach 443.55 Ha. Types of land use vegetation decreased by 380.65 Ha and agricultural land decreased by 64.26 Ha. The difference in the area of land built over a period of 6 (six) years is 438,1911 Ha. The Kappa coefficient value obtained is 0.87 or 87 percent, which means that the Landsat 8 image used has a fairly high accuracy. The pattern of encroachment that occurs in Dau District is an elongated pattern. This is indicated by the development of settlements that can be seen on several sides of the main road. Kebutuhan lahan terus mengalami peningkatan sejalan dengan laju pertumbuhan penduduk. Keterbatasan lahan di kota inilah yang akan memicu pengembangan wilayah menyebar ke daerah pinggiran dengan lahan yang masih mencukupi. Dari tahun 2013 sampai tahun 2019 lahan terbangun telah mengalami pertambahan mencapai 443.55 Ha. Jenis penggunaan lahan vegetasi mengalami penurunan sebanyak 380.65 Ha dan lahan pertanian mengalami penurunan sebanyak 64.26 Ha. Selisih luas lahan terbangun pada kurun waktu 6 (enam) tahun mencapai 438.1911 Ha. Nilai Koefisien Kappa yang didapatkan adalah 0.87 atau 87 persen yang berarti bahwa citra Landsat 8 yang digunakan memiliki ketelitian yang cukup tinggi. Pola perambahan yang terjadi di Kecamatan Dau adalah pola memanjang. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan berkembangnya permukiman yang terlihat dibeberapa tepi jalan utama.

Abstract

The learning model that will be applied to students should be effective and interesting. One of the effective and interesting geography learning models is the project based learning model. The project based learning model is a learning model that makes products (projects) in a structured manner. This model can trigger students' curiosity to solve a problem at hand and can also develop students' creative thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the project-based learning model assisted by story maps on the ability to think creatively in the geography subject of SMAN 7 Malang students. This research is a type of experimental quantitative research. Subjects in this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class XI IPS SMAN 7 Malang. The new thing in this research is the use of story map in this project based learning model, students can make maps in a simple and interesting way so as to improve students’ creative thinking skills. The results of the t-test (independent sample t-test) show that the significance value is 0.000 less than 0.05, which means that there is a significant affect of story map-assisted project based learning models on the ability to think creatively in geography subjects. A project based learning model assisted by a story map is better than students who only use a project based learning model. Model pembelajaran yang akan diterapkan kepada siswa sebaiknya efektif dan menarik. Salah satu model pembelajaran geografi yang efektif dan menarik ialah model project based learning. Model project based learning adalah model pembelajaran yang membuat produk (proyek) secara terstruktur. Model ini dapat memicu rasa ingin tahu siswa untuk memecahkan sebuah masalah yang dihadapi dan juga dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model project based learning berbantuan story map terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran geografi siswa SMAN 7 Malang. Riset ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen. Subjek pada riset ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol XI IPS SMAN 7 Malang. Hal baru pada riset ini yaitu penggunaan story map pada model project based learning ini siswa dapat membuat peta secara sederhana dan menarik sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Hasil uji t (independent sample t-test) menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 kurang dari 0,05 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan model project based learning berbantuan story map terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran geografi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan model project based learning berbantuan story map lebih baik daripada siswa yang hanya menggunakan model project based learning.

Abstract

Gresik Regency is one of the regencies in East Java which often occurs landslides during the rainy season. In addition to high rainfall intensity, several other factors such as slope, soil type, and land use are also used as parameters in this landslide susceptibility study. This research based on Geographic Information Systems can be a medium in facilitating the expression of spatial-based information that can function as the validity of the interpretation of areas that have the potential to experience landslides in Gresik Regency by using the overlay method with scoring by assigning weights according to its classification which results in landslide-prone areas in the area. digital form. The results of this process produce a landslide susceptibility map with details of 1.99 km2 in the very low category, 42.83 km2 in the low category, 134.35 km2 in the medium category, 5.04 km2 in the high category, and 0.17 km2 in the very high category. The result of the overlay is that the distribution of high vulnerability levels is in the central and southern regions of Gresik Regency, one example in Kebomas District which is often hit by landslides. This is caused by the area has a hilly landform so that there is a high potential for subsidence to occur. Kabupaten Gresik adalah salah dari satu kabupaten di Jawa Timur yang sering terjadi peristiwa longsor ketika musim penghujan. Selain intensitas hujan yang tinggi, beberapa faktor lain seperti kemiringan lereng, jenis tanah, dan penggunaan lahan juga digunakan sebagai parameter dalam penelitian tingkat kerawanan longsor ini. Penelitian ini berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis dapat menjadi media dalam memudahkan pengutaraan informasi berbasis spasial yang dapat difungsikan sebagai validalitas interpretasi daerah yang berpotensi mengalami bencana tanah longsor di Kabupaten Gresik dengan menggunakan metode overlay dengan scoring dengan pemberian bobot sesuai dengan pengklasifikasiannya yang menghasilkan objek daerah rawan longsor dalam bentuk digital. Hasil dari proses tersebut menghasilkan peta kerawanan longsor dengan rincian luas 1,99 km2 dengan kategori sangat rendah, 42,83 km2 kategori rendah, 134,35 km2 kategori sedang, 5,04 km2 kategori tinggi, dan 0,17 km2 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil dari overlay tersebut sebaran tingkat kerawanan tinggi berada di wilayah bagian tengah dan selatan Kabupaten Gresik salah satu contoh di Kecamatan Kebomas yang sering dilanda longsor. Hal ini ditimbulkan oleh wilayah tersebut memiliki bentuk lahan yang berbukit sehingga berpotensi tinggi terjadi amblesan.

Abstract

The Wonosalam District, located in Jombang Regency, East Java Province, has a history of multiple landslides in the last 5 years. This is because the district is situated in the Mount Anjasmara Area which is part of a steep mountain range, resulting in a distinct geological structure and high degree of slope. This makes the district highly susceptible to landslides, particularly due to its location. To mitigate potential losses from disasters, a mapping of the landslide risk level has been created to proactively address the issue. The landslide risk mapping is based on a geographic information system that incorporates scoring, weighting, and overlay techniques. The scoring and weighting process is in accordance with Perka BNPB No. 2 of 2012 and has been modified to suit the local conditions on the ground. The landslide disaster risk mapping produced results indicating the risk levels in 9 villages in the Wonosalam District. Out of these, Galengdowo, Distance, and Carangwulung Villages were classified as having a medium risk level, while the remaining 6 villages (Wonomerto, Sambirejo, Wonosalam, Panglungan, Wonokerto, and Sumberjo) were considered to have a low risk level. Kecamatan Wonosalam yang terletak di Kabupaten Jombang, Provinsi Jawa Timur, memiliki sejarah longsor dalam 5 tahun terakhir. Hal ini karena kabupaten ini terletak di Kawasan Gunung Anjasmara yang merupakan bagian dari rangkaian pegunungan yang terjal, sehingga menghasilkan struktur geologi yang khas dan kemiringan lereng yang tinggi. Hal ini membuat kabupaten ini sangat rentan terhadap tanah longsor, terutama karena lokasinya. Untuk memitigasi potensi kerugian akibat bencana, pemetaan tingkat risiko tanah longsor telah dibuat untuk secara proaktif mengatasi masalah tersebut. Pemetaan resiko tanah longsor didasarkan pada sistem data geografis yang mencampurkan metode skoring, pembobotan, serta overlay. Proses kajian serta pembobotan cocok dengan Perka BNPB Nomor. 2 Tahun 2012, serta sudah dimodifikasi cocok dengan keadaan setempat di lapangan. Pemetaan risiko bencana tanah longsor menghasilkan tingkat risiko di 9 desa di Kecamatan Wonosalam. Dari jumlah tersebut, Desa Galengdowo, Jarak, dan Carangwulung tergolong memiliki tingkat risiko sedang, sedangkan 6 desa lainnya (Wonomerto, Sambirejo, Wonosalam, Panglungan, Wonokerto, dan Sumberjo) tergolong memiliki tingkat risiko rendah.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a high earthquake threat. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded that Indonesia experienced 5,439 earthquakes with a magnitude of Mw 5. Geologically, Indonesia is located about 200 km from the subduction zone of the Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates. Malang Regency faces the subduction of the Indo-Australian and Eurasian plates. Earthquakes that occur in plate subduction areas will propagate in various directions, including to Malang Regency. Thus, Malang Regency, especially in the southern part, has a high earthquake threat. This study aims to calculate the earthquake threat using a deterministic approach. Earthquake threats can be calculated using the Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analysis (DSHA) method. This study obtained the Mc. Guirre and Donovan attenuation function. These two attenuation functions produce different Peak Ground Acceleration values. The calculations with the Mc. Guirre attenuation function has a range of PGA values from 38,76461 gals to 69,78215 gals. Meanwhile, the Donovan attenuation function calculation produces a range of PGA values from 41.97550 gals to 76.21376 gals. Based on the value of ground acceleration during an earthquake, Bantur, Gedangan, and Sumbermanjing sub-districts are the sub-districts with the highest earthquake threat level in Southern Malang Regency. Tirtoyudo Village, Tirtoyudo District, Malang District has a lower PGA value when compared to Gedangan District. However, the amount of damage to buildings in this subdistrict was much higher. Since the building structure in Tirtoyudo Village cannot withstand ground shaking due to the earthquake, there is damage to the structure of the building.

Abstract

Curriculum changes that occur give teachers skills in developing learning media that meet the needs of the curriculum and can provide an enjoyable learning experience for students. The product developed in this research is a pop-up book geography tectonism material with the Essentials of Geology book model. This research aims to develop pop-up book geography learning media that is practical, effective, valid, and useful in motivating students to learn tectonism material. The product was developed using the ADDIE model, which includes a) analysis, b) design, c) development, d) implementation, and e) evaluation. Based on the needs and material analysis results, the pop-up learning media book geography tectonism material essentials of the geology book model needs to be developed. The material and media expert validation results state that the media is very valid for the learning process, with a total average score of 91.75 and 90 percent. The total average validation obtained through the teacher response questionnaire to the media is 92.5 percent. With these results, it can be concluded that the validity of this media is in the valid category and can be utilized and applied without revision. After the trial was carried out, the results of the media practicality test were 85.5 percent, and the results of the media effectiveness test were 86.25 percent. With these results, it can be concluded that the media is in the practical and effective category. Effective means motivating student learning in studying geospheric phenomena, lithospheric dynamics material, especially tectonism sub-material, and the media can be used without requiring revisions.
