Abstract

Family is not the only factor that can shape the character of a child's discipline. Schools where children get education and experience, can form a disciplinary character because they must comply with applicable regulations. This study aims to determine the effect of digital parenting and school climate on students' disciplinary character. The research method used an associative quantitative approach. The researcher distributed questionnaires using Google Forms. A proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to select the sample with 251 students in seventh and eighth grades at Public Junior High School in East Jakarta. The results showed a significant simultaneous effect between digital parenting and school climate on students' disciplinary character. Digital parenting and school climate together can explain the character of discipline by 44.1 percent. So that parents need to increase assistance and control to children by implementing digital parenting. To the school it is necessary to maintain a healthy school climate to form and improve the character of discipline in students. Thus, the higher the application of digital parenting and the healthier or more open the school climate, the higher the character of discipline in students.

Abstract

Masa remaja adalah masa transisi dari masa kanak-kanak ke masa dewasa. Salah satu masalah yang terjadi di masa remaja adalah meningkatnya kasus child marriage. Pada tahun 2022, Indonesia menempati posisi ke-8 di dunia dan posisi ke-2 di ASEAN. Edukasi untuk pencegahan child marriage pada anak usia remaja penting dilakukan untuk mencegah terjadinya child marriage. Kegiatan yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai child marriage dan upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegahnya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di salah satu SMA yang ada di Kota Jakarta Timur, Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada bulan mei tahun 2023 dan telah melibatkan 70 orang siswa. Materi yang disampaikan berupa pengertian child marriage, faktor yang mendorong terjadinya child marriage, dampak child marriage, dan strategi untuk mencegah terjadinya child marriage. Selain pemaparan materi, kegiatan juga dilakukan dengan menggunakan permainan ular tangga yang dalam instruksi permainnya seputar child marriage. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 80 persen siswa mampu menjawab dengan benar pertanyaan seputar pengertian, penyebab, dampak, dan strategi pencegahan child marriage. Dengan demikian, metode penyuluhan dan permainan ular tangga dapat menjadi alternatif untuk edukasi kesehatan pada remaja.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan peralihan masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan individu dari masa kanak-kanak ke masa dewasa yang dapat ditandai dengan perubahan biologis, perubahan psikologis, maupun perubahan sosial. Jika remaja memiliki kepercayaan diri yang rendah maka hal tersebut dapat menghambat perkembangan remaja dalam bersosialisasi dengan lingkungannya, sulit mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki, kesulitan mengenal dirinya dan tugas perkembangan lainnya. Penelitian ini memiliki bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kekerasan verbal orang tua terhadap kepercayaan diri remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 241 orang siswa SMP yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling dengan karakteristik memiliki kedua orang tua. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen Kekeraran Verbal Orang Tua dan Personal Evaluation Inventory (PEI). Data tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kekerasan verbal orang tua berpengaruh negatif terhadap kepercayaan diri remaja, yang mengartikan bahwa semakin tinggi kekerasan verbal orang tua maka kepercayaan diri yang dimiliki remaja semakin rendah. Untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, orang tua diharapkan untuk menghindari ucapan yang menyakiti hati anak.

Abstract

 This research focused on analysis of the correlation of family welfare using three indicators of welfare and the influence of family characteristics toward family welfare of cinnamon farmer families at Tamiai, Kerinci, Jambi. This research involved 50 families that were selected randomly from families in the study side. Families involved in this research were chosen from families of cinnamon farmer in study site who had school-aged children (fourth, fifth, and sixth grade in elementary school). Data collected by interview with questionnaire. Family welfare was indicated by using three indicators those were BPS, BKKBN, and a simple poverty scorecard for Indonesia. Data was analyzed by descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis. The results showed that the families had low welfare based on the third indicators. Family welfare based on scorecard indicator had correlation significantly with family welfare based on BPS and BKKBN indicator. Family welfare was influenced by family size (BPS and BKKBN indicator), father’s age (BKKBN indicator) and family income (BPS, BKKBN, and Scorecard indicator).

Abstract

 The aim of the research was to analyze correlation between parenting style and children’s social emotional development, and also to analyze the influence of family characteristics, child characteristics, and parenting style toward school-aged children’s social emotional development in cinnamon farmer families at Tamiai Village, Kerinci District, Jambi Province. This research involved 50 families that were selected randomly. Data collected by interview and self report with questionnaire. Parenting style were measured by emotional coaching instrument and children’s social emotional development were measured by Social Emotional Assets and Resiliency Scales A (SEARS A). Data was analyzed by descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis. The results showed that the mostly parent (34%) applied disapproving parenting style. Index of children’s social emotional development scores were 71,30±10,35. Parenting style was influenced by mother’s education. Laissez faire style correlated negative significant with children’s social emotional development. Children’s social emotional development were influenced by child age.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to analyze the influence of child characteristics, family characteristics, and family welfare on quality of home environment on preschool aged children. The samples involved 120 formal and nonformal preschool age children in Sungai Penuh District, Jambi Province that were chosen by stratified random sampling. Data was collected by interview and observation, and also was analyzed by descriptive analysis, correlation test, and multiple linear regression test. Based on poverty line indicator, families were divided into welfare families and nonwelfare families. The results showed that 45,8% families was welfare and 54,2% families was nonwelfare. The quality of home environment was measured by scale of Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment (HOME) and was divided into good and less. Parent provided language stimulation, responsivisity, and modeling into good quality, while the availability of learning materials, physical environment; academic stimulation, variety of stimulation, and acceptance into less quality. The quality of home environment was influenced by child’s age and sex, family size, maternal education, and family welfare.

Abstract

Families have obligations to protect and care for their children. The general objective of this study was to analyze the gender of the investment and the quality of the children in highland farmers. The study was conducted at highland areas at Cianjur Regency (Sindangjaya Village, Cipanas Sub-district) and Bogor Regency (Petir Village, Dramaga Sub-district). The findings showed that they were 4 (four) indicators of child investment latent variable such as the allocation of time togetherness between parents and children, investment in education and health, material allocations, and protection of children. Moreover, there were 5 (five) indicators of child quality latent variable such as the physical quality, learning achievement, child's behavior, psycho-social-spiritual, and the quality of life. The first result showed that there was no difference between boys and girls in total of child investment, but there was significantly difference between boys and girls in total of child quality. The second result proved that the latent variable of child investment has significantly positive effect on latent variable of child quality. As recommendation, the study need to be continued with various family characteristics and broadening analysis such as the effect of child investment and child quality to the child happiness.
