Abstract

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is a condition that occurs in one or more areas of the human respiratory tract and is associated with the environmental conditions in which the patient resides. The most frequent cause of ARI is infection with Streptococcus pneumonia or Haemophilus influenza. In order to diagnose ARI by identifying the infectious agent responsible for its development, laboratory tests can be conducted on throat swab samples from patient who exhibit symptoms of ARI.. One of the objectives of this investigation was to ascertain the bacterial profile of children with ARI. This study is a descriptive cross-sectional investigation that utilised specimens from throat swabs of ARI patients in elementary school-age children who visited the Tamalanrea Makassar Health Centre between October 10, 2022, and November 10, 2022. The biopsy results were subsequently subjected to gramme staining and identification tests to ascertain the species of causative bacteria. In the 57 children, which consisted of 38 boys and 19 girls, the percentage of monobacterial findings was 49 (85.96%) and 8 (14.04) polymicrobial. Gram-positive bacteria were found 50.8% and gram-negative bacteria 49.2%, with Staphylococcus aureus being the most common cause.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) at SMP Negeri 1 Bontomarannu, analyze the supporting factors and inhibiting factors of P5 implementation at SMP Negeri 1 Bontomarannu. Using descriptive qualitative methods, by conducting observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of P5 with the theme Voice of Democracy in the election of the student council chairman provided a contextual and meaningful learning experience for students. This activity not only introduces the democratic process in the school environment, but also becomes a means of strengthening character and developing student competence. The dimension of Belief and Fear of God Almighty is evident from the integration of religious values in the election process which emphasizes honesty, responsibility, and prayer in every stage of the activity. The Critical Reasoning dimension is achieved through vision-mission analysis activities, debates, and rational decision-making. The Global Diversity dimension is seen in the interaction of students who reflect tolerance, empathy, and the ability to appreciate differences. However, the obstacles in the implementation of P5 are the readiness of facilitators, the preparation of modules, and the monotony of project implementation activities

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges faced by career women serving as Heads of Raudhatul Athfal (RA), or early childhood Islamic education institutions. In their roles, female school leaders are expected not only to manage the institution professionally but also to balance family responsibilities and personal life. The findings reveal several key challenges, including emotional strain such as frequent anger and sudden crying, time-consuming administrative tasks like school accreditation, limited quality time with family, curriculum changes, miscommunication with parents, differences in students' personalities, conflicts with colleagues, and often-neglected health issues. These challenges are interconnected and can affect leadership effectiveness and overall school management quality. The study suggests the importance of emotional support, stress management training, improved interpersonal communication skills, and institutional policies that are more accommodating to the needs of female school leaders. With the right strategies, these challenges can be addressed, allowing headteachers to perform their roles effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

Coastal ecosystems in Ternate have high biodiversity, including the macroalga Caulerpa racemosa, which contributes to ecosystem stabilization and mitigation of ocean acidification. However, environmental degradation due to human activities poses a serious threat, so analyzing the distribution and density of macroalgae is important for sustainable ecosystem management. This study aimed to analyze the distribution pattern and density of C. racemosa in Kastela and Gamalama waters, Ternate City. Data collection was conducted from May to August 2024 using the line transect method with 1x1 m quadrants in two research locations. Each site had three 50 m long transect lines with five quadrants per transect. Density was calculated based on the number of individuals per unit area, while distribution patterns were analyzed using the Morisita index (Id). Environmental data such as temperature, salinity and pH were also measured to understand the factors affecting macroalgae distribution. Spatial analysis using GIS software visualized distribution patterns. Results showed that C. racemosa had a concentrated distribution pattern (Id 1) in both study sites, with higher average densities in Kastela waters than Gamalama. Environmental factors, including temperature and substrate type, significantly influenced the distribution of this species. This study provides important data to support ecosystem-based management and sustainable coastal conservation, and fills an information gap on the impacts of ecological pressures on macroalgae in this region. Keywords:Caulerpa racemosaTernateDistributionCoastal Ecosystem
