Abstract

Fire Robot serves to detect and extinguish the fire. The robot is controlled by the microcontroller ATMEGA8535 automatically. This robot contains of several sensors, such as 5 sets of ping parallax as a robot navigator, a set UVTron equipped with fire-detecting driver, DC motor driver L298 with two DC servo motors. The robot was developed from a prototype that has been studied previously with the addition on the hardware side of the sound activation and two sets of line detector. The robot will active if it receives input from the sound activation unit and will start to find the fire with “search the wall” navigation techniques. The line sensor was used as a door and home detector and circle the fire area.To extinguish the fire, this robot uses a fan driven by a BD139 transistor circuit. The overall test results show that the robot can detect the presence of the fire in each room. The robot also can find the fire and extinguish it within 1 minute.

Abstract

Rangkaian alat ukur yang diantarmukakan padakomputer pribadi ini, dirancang untuk melakukanpengukuran terhadap kecepatan dan arah angin. Anginyang menerpa cup anemometer akan menggerakkan cup,sehingga poros anemometer yang dikopel dengan motor arussearah berputar dan menghasilkan keluaran berupategangan analog, yang menjadi masukan untuk Analog toDigital Converter (ADC) sehingga didapatkan keluarandalam bentuk digital. Begitu juga pada saat angin mengenaibaling-baling penentu arah angin, akan menggerakkanporosnya sehingga baling-baling berputar, hal ini akanmenyebabkan lempeng lingkaran yang telah dilubangisepanjang 45odan merupakan bagian tembus cahaya, ikutberputar diantara delapan buah sensor optocoupler. Jikabagian yang tembus cahaya terkena cahaya LEDinframerah, maka ada keluaran pada optocoupler, keadaanini dinamakan logika 1. Sebaliknya jika bagian yang tidaktembus cahaya terkena cahaya LED inframerah makakeadaan ini dinamakan logika 0. Setiap output dari sensorsudah mengalami konversi ke bentuk sinyal digital, berupabilangan biner agar dapat dibaca dan diproses olehkomputer melalui antarmuka modul PPI8255. Informasidata masukan tersebut digunakan untuk menetukankecepatan dan arah angin dengan bantuan program VisualBasic, selanjutnya hasil pengukuran ditampilkan pada layarmonitor komputer.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is a development of the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) which makes the vehicle its node. VANET technology is expected to improve driver safety when driving. VANET has network characteristics that change rapidly due to fast node movement. Therefore, VANET requires a routing protocol that is considered suitable and efficient so that sending data packets can take place optimally. This research simulated and analyzed the performance comparison of proactive routing protocol (DSDV), reactive routing protocol (AOMDV) and hybrid routing protocol (ZRP) on VANET in Pekanbaru city. This simulation was carried out using NS-2.35 and SUMO as a mobility generator. Performance is measured using comparison parameters in the form of Packet Delivery Ratio, End to End Delay, and Routing Overhead. The results show that the AOMDV routing protocol is better than Packet Delivery Ratio parameter values with an average value of 99.9%. DSDV routing protocol is better than End to End Delay parameter values with an average value of 0.09 s. While the ZRP Routing Protocol is better than Overhead Routing values with an average value of 0.500. Thus, the protocols have their respective advantages. Abstract

Bandwidth merupakan salah satu hal yang sangat penting dan harus diperhatikan serta dijaga kestabilan operasionalnya. Untuk menjaga jaringan yang stabil, diperlukan pengalokasian bandwidth. Pengalokasian bandwidth memerlukan informasi terkait kapan saja jam sibuk yang terjadi di PT. Industri Kreatif Digital (PT. IKADA), maka dibutuhkan monitoring pada bandwidth server. Proses pemantauan bandwidth server yang dilakukan PT. IKADA belum optimal menyebabkan jaringan yang tidak stabil dikarenakan pembagian bandwidth yang tidak merata. Pengunduhan aplikasi atau file dalam kapasitas yang besar juga dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada pengguna lain yang sedang melakukan pekerjaannya. Maka diperlukan sistem monitoring bandwidth server untuk dapat memonitor dan mengontrol kapasitas penggunaan bandwidth dari server, apabila penelitian ini tidak selesai, maka PT. IKADA tetap dapat memonitor bandwidth seperti sebelumnya. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang telah diuraikan, diperlukan suatu sistem yang memonitoring kapasitas bandwidth guna mempermudah divisi Network Operation Center untuk mengetahui kapastitas bandwidth yang digunakan apakah sesuai atau tidak, maka dalam penelitian ini, akan dibangun Sistem Monitoring Bandwidth Server. Sistem ini akan dibangun dengan menggunakan PHP sebagai bahasa pemrograman dan MySQL sebagai database manajemen. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Blackbox Testing dan Whitebox Testing. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem monitoring ini telah berhasil dibuat dan telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari PT. IKADA.

Abstract

Penggunaan dan perkembangan teknologi nirkabel sekarang sudah sangat maju dan luas. Salah satu contohnya adalah VANET (Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network), yang merupakan teknologi nirkabel yang dipasang di dalam kendaraan sehingga kendaraan dapat berkomunikasi satu sama lain (V2V) atau dengan infrastruktur (V2I). Tantangan dalam VANET yang muncul akibat pergerakan dan kecepatan tinggi kendaraan dapat diatasi dengan menggunakan protokol routing. Namun, karena ada banyak jenis protokol routing jaringan nirkabel, diperlukan uji kinerja untuk menentukan protokol routing terbaik yang akan diimplementasikan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengujian protokol routing GSR (Geographic Source Routing). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah simulasi dan menggunakan perangkat lunak pendukung seperti Openstreetmap, SUMO, dan OMNET++. Evaluasi kinerja protokol routing mencakup parameter Quality of Service (QOS) seperti throughput, end-to-end delay, dan packet ratio. Studi ini melibatkan berbagai skenario yang mencakup perubahan jumlah kendaraan, kecepatan kendaraan, dan keberadaan Road Side Unit (RSU).

Abstract

The increase in the number of vehicles without the development of driving safety technology, tends to create adverse impacts on society, such as a rise in casualties due to road accidents. Therefore, vehicles need information on the condition of the surrounding traffic environment to provide driver with safety. One of the methods used to obtain prompt information between vehicles that move dynamically is communication technology such as Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET). VANET has network characteristics that change rapidly due to the highly dynamic node movement. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the right routing protocol for optimal data transmission. In this study, the DSDV (Destination Sequenced Distance Vector), AOMDV (Ad-hoc on Demand Multipath Distance Vector), and ZRP (Zone Routing Protocol) routing protocols were tested using 3 field data scenarios. The first scenario is a variation of the number of nodes 100, 250, 600, and 700 nodes. The second scenario is a variation of the transmission ranges of 250m, 500m, and 1km. The third scenario is the variation of node speeds of 10 km/hour, 20 km/hour, 30 km/hour, 40 km/hour, and 50 km/hour in Pekanbaru city of Riau province. This research was carried out using the simulation method along with the QoS (Quality of Service) performance testing parameters comprising packet delivery ratio, end to end delay, throughput, collision rate, and packet loss. Out of the three scenarios tested, AOMDV is the best routing protocol to be implemented because it outperforms the other two protocol evaluated in all designated scenarios in the paper. Meanwhile, DSDV and ZRP are superior in end to end delay and routing overhead parameters, respectively.

Abstract

Increased demand for information and telecommunications at the University of Riau demanding reliable carrier network availability. Copper cable network that now exists less support for multimedia network performance. Therefore, it is necessary to design a new access networks. One alternative is to implement fiber optic technology Fiber to the Home (FttH). This research design a FttH network for information access needs on the campus site, located in Panam, Pekanbaru. The results show the needs of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) as many as 209 units and 34 units of Optical Distribution Point (ODP), using passive splitter 1: 8 type of wall. Optical Distribution Cabinet (ODC) 1 unit to serve all the region in UR with a capacity of 24 core, using ODC 144 type. Calculation of the sample data taken, showing the speed of each customer in the Engineering Faculty using FttH is approximately 3 Mbps. Link Budget Calculations indicate that power received by each faculty on average -23.17 dB, it can be concluded FttH network design is feasible and appropriate ethical standards that have been determined shall not exceed -28 dB. Attenuation of each faculty obtained the average value of -21.17 dB.

Abstract

This study aims to design a feeding and drinking tool for pet cats automatically based on SIM900A GSM Module. Design using GSM SIM900A, Arduino, RTC, load cell and Direct Current (DC) pump. This tool can be controlled to feed and drink the cat automatically at a distance. The working system of the tool consists of load cell 1, load cell 2 and water limit sensor which is an input result of measurement object which will be processed by arduino. Load cell 1 is used for measuring cat body weight, load cell 2 serves to measure cat feed weight and water limit function to enable and disable direct current pump. The pump will pump water to fill the cat drinking container if the container is empty. Data received by Arduino will be processed when the Real Time Clock (RTC) indicates the schedule of the cat’s feeder that has been set. Then the SIM900A GSM module will work sending short messages (SMS) to the mobile phone to inform the system has been working automatically feed the cat.

Abstract

The location of the research was carried out at Villa Melati Permai II Housing which is on the Melati Indah Street, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. Villa Melati Permai II is categorized as middle to upper-class housing but does not have its access network. This research will make the modeling of FTTH (Fiber To The Home) networks with network feasibility parameters to produce quality and appropriate FTTH networks. Manual calculation on the feasibility of FTTH networks using the power link budget and rise time budget shows results within the feasibility limit, which does not exceed the maximum limit for the power link budget of -27 dBm and rise time budget below the total time of bit rates. Calculation with NRZ (Non-Return to Zero) coding produces a downstream value of 0.2813 ns and upstream 0.562 ns. System performance parameters that show signal to noise ratio and bit error rate deliver good quality. Signal to noise ratio exceeds the minimum limit of PT. Telkom standard that is 21.5 dB and the bit error rate does not exceed the optical link standard which is 10-9. Good performance is also shown by eye pattern in optical simulation that displays amplitude signals with the same time and shows clear differences between bits 1 and bits 0.
