Abstract

Abstrak: Tanaman jambu air Madu Deli merupakan tanaman yang banyak ditanam di kota Binjai setelah tanaman rambutan. Rasa jambu air madu deli ini lebih manis dari kebanyakan tanaman jambu air yang ada sehingga sangat banyak disukai oleh masyarakat untuk dikonsumsi. Hama lalat buah merupakan hama yang banyak menyerang dan menurunkan kualitas jambu air madu deli. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan tentang hama lalat buah dan bagaimana melakukan pengendalian hama lalat buah yang lebih ramah lingkungan kepada 10 orang ibu-ibu kelompok PKK dari kelurahan Payaroba Kecamatan Binjai Barat, Kota Binjai. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi langsung tentang pembuatan bioatraktan dari daun cengkeh dan pembuatan perangkap metil eugenol. Hasil yang dicapai dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mitra tentang hama lalat buah, sehingga mereka mampu mengenali tentang hama lalat buah dan melakukan pengendalian sesuai dengan teknik yang telah diajarkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Abstract: Deli roseapple is a plant that is widely planted in Binjai after the rambutan plant. The taste of this deli roseapple is sweeter than most existing roseapple plants. It becomes quite massive consumed by public. Fruit flies are pests that attack and reduce the quality of deli roseapple. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide understanding and knowledge about fruit fly pests and how to control fruit fly pests that are more environmentally friendly to 10 peoples PKK of mothers group from Payaroba Village, West Binjai District, Binjai. This activity was carried out using lecture methods and direct demonstrations on the manufacture of bioattractants from clove leaves and the manufacture of methyl eugenol traps. The results are an increase in the knowledge and understanding of partners about fruit fly pests, so that they are able to recognize fruit fly pests and carry out control according to the techniques that have been taught in this community service activity.

Abstract

Nowadays, the number of orange juice business increases in Medan city. This business produces a byproduct that is discarded and not utilized by the seller. On the other hand,  many people living in poverty and less empower because they don't have the skills to generate additional income. This program wants to use zero-waste concepts to empowering a community. Zero Waste is one of the solutions to the problem of handling Waste as well as the empowerment of people. Partner of this program is people of Program family Harapan (PKH) incorporated in Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) Rezeki Jermal located in the village of Denai, Medan. Socialization and training is the method used in this program. Derivative products of essential oil are repellent lotion and aromatherapy candles. The final result of this program are partner know the implication of zero Waste and have the skill to manage the Waste.

Abstract

Palm briquette briquette production as one of the fuel substitutes that began to thin and as a source of renewable alternative energy is done with the addition of cassava starch. This research used Factorial Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with two replications. Factor I is the addition of cassava husk starch with a password (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely: P1 = 5%, P2 = 10%, P3 = 15%, P4 = 20%. Factor II is the drying temperature with the code (S) consisting of 4 levels, namely: S1 = 1000C, S2 = 1100C, S3 = 1200C, S4 = 1300C. Parameters observed included heating value, moisture content, ash content. Statistical analysis result on each parameter show: The addition of Cassava Starch has a very significant different effect (P <0.01) on the calorific value. The addition of Cassava Starch gave a very significant different effect (P <0.01) on Briket Water Content. The addition of Cassava Starch gave a very significant different effect (P <0.01) on Ash Content in Briquette.Keywords : Cassava leaf,  palm stem, briquettes, calorific value

Abstract

The safety of processed food products is necessary to prevent food from possible  of biological contaminants, chemical, and the others that may be harm of human health and conflict with religion, beliefs and culture of the community so that it is safe for consumption, including foods containing of pork so that it is necessary accurate method of analysis in the laboratory. This paper aims to analyze of pork in processed food products using UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Using spectrometric method, optimum wavelength was obtained at 270 nm, concentration was obtained in pig corned respectively 2,2703%, 35,3784%, 49,6351%, and 52,5405 %.

Abstract

Technological advances and diversity of the meat processed have grown tremendously with exceptional quality and price. Often found pork fat mixed with other meat processed. This led many experts to find a simple and inexpensive method of examining the physical properties of pig fat. This research is a preliminary study in the analysis of fat physics properties of pigs that aims to analyze the physical properties of extraction Pigs on the meat processed. In this study, n-hexane was carried used variated of concentrations and sample weights respectively : 20% : 10 g, 30% : 20 g, 40% : 30 g, 50% : 40 g. Specific gravity is obtained respectively 0.8208, 0.8210, 0.8215, 0.8215. The refractive index was obtained respectively 1.502, 1.502, 1.503, 1.505. The melting point was obtained respectively 42,638, 42,700, 42,700, 42,700. Iodine numbers were obtained respectively 46,441, 46,449, 46,460, 46,463 and the saponification numbers were obtained respectively 228,446, 228,440, 228,435, 228,428

Abstract

AbstrakPemanfaatan limbah pertanian sebagai pestisida merupakan salah satu hal yang mendukung pertanian yang berkelanjutan. Salah satu limbah yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah limbah kulit jengkol karena mengandung senyawa yang dapat digunakan sebagai pestisida tanaman. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Pematang Johar, Kecamatan Labuhan Deli, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Tujuan Pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan penyuluhan atau sosialisasi tentang pentingnya melakukan usahatani yang berkelanjutan dengan memanfaatkan kulit jengkol sebagai pestisida nabati. Hasil akhir dari Pengabdian ini adalah mitra mampu membuat pestisida nabati dari limbah kulit jengkol serta mampu mengaplikasikan pada sawah mereka.

Abstract

PKM was conducted in Desa Namo Mirik, Kecamatan Kutalimbaru, Kabupaten Deli Serdang with partners consisting of 2 farmer groups, Ula Kisat Farmers Group and Sumber Jaya Group. The aim of the PKM program is to establish/develop a group of economically independent communities; help create peace, and comfort in community life; and improve thinking skills and other skills needed (softskill and hardskill). The method used to achieve the objectives of this PKM is to carry out counseling or socialization about corn planting using the double row method. The expected target is a partner capable of carrying out corn planting. The planned activities to be carried out are planting corn with a double row method with a plot of 5 rante or 0.2 Ha. The production results obtained in this activity are corn cobs at 8150 Kg / Ha and corn pipil 6025 Kg / Ha.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the thermal properties of grafted products of maleic anhydride onto cyclized natural rubber. The grafting was carried out in the melt phase at an internal mixer of 150 oC and a rotor speed of 80 rpm. A total of 16 phr maleic anhydride was reacted with cyclized natural rubber in the present and absence of divinylbenzene comonomer with various mole ratios: 0.5, 1, and 2. The grafted products were characterized by the thermogravimetric method to investigate their thermal properties. Based on the results of the thermogravimetric analysis, it was shown that the sample increased its thermal stability. The sample decomposes at a higher temperature with the increasing mole ratio of divinylbenzene added. The grafted product with 16 phr maleic anhydride decomposed at 489.41 oC. Then, the graft product samples with the addition of 0.5, 1, and the 2-mole ratio of divinylbenzene comonomers decomposed at: 501.62 oC, 514.39 oC, and 520.82 oC, respectively.Keywords:Cyclized natural rubber, Divinylbenzene, Maleic anhydride, Thermamogravimetric

Abstract

The grafting product of maleic anhydride onto cyclized natural rubber have been produced which is processed in an internal mixer 150oC 80 rpm. In this research, the consentrations of maleic anhydride used is 2, 4, 8, 16 phr. All grafted product was purified to determine the spesific weight and total acid for each graft product by the titration method. Specific weights of grafting products by addition of AM 2,4,8,16 is 0.245, 0.276, 0.288, 0.304, and total acid is 3.272, 6.145, 6.145, 10.280 respectively.

Abstract

Derajat pencangkokan anhidridamaleatpadakaretalamsiklissecara umum masih rendah, yang disebabkankurangnyadensitaselektronikatanrangkapanhidridamaleatsehinggareaktifitasnya rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkanderajatpencangkokan denganpenambahan komonomer divinil benzen. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penambahan anhidrida maleat 2, 4, 8 dan16 phr dengandan tanpa komonomer divinil benzen di dalampencampur internal suhu 150oC dan kecepatan rotor80 rpm.  Untuk mempelajari pengaruhpenambahankomonomerdivinilbenzenmakaditambahkananhidridamaleat 16 phrdankomonomer divinil benzen dengan variasimasing-masing: 0,5, 1 dan 2 rasiomol. Produk pencangkokan dikarakterisasidenganfourier transform infra red untuk melihatterjadinyapencangkokananhidridamaleatpadakaretalamsiklis. Kemudian derajat pencangkokan ditentukan dengan metode titrasi menggunakan NaOH 0,05 M. Dari spektrum FT-IR dapatdilihatbahwatelahterjadipencangkokananhidridamaleatpadakaretalamsiklisdenganadanyaserapankhaspadabilangangelombang 1780cm-1. Dari perhitunganhasiltitrasidiperolehbahwaderajatpencangkokanmeningkatdenganpenambahandivinilbenzen.Denganpenambahandivinilbenzensebanyak 0,5; 1 dan 2 molrasiomakaderajatpencangkokanmeningkatdari 3,57% menjadimasing-masing4,46%; 5,46% dan 6,54%. Kata kunci: anhidrida maleat,derajatpencangkokan, divinil benzen, karet alam siklis
