Abstract

Soursop leaf herbal tea is a health drink made from herbs soursop leaf and health benefits. Indonesian society using soursop leaves as an herbal medicine for treating cancer, in particular by drinking boiled water fresh soursop leaves. This study aimed to determine the effect of avocado leaves and drying time of the tea leaves of the soursop. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of two factors: the first factor the addition of avocado leaves (20%, 30%, 40%, 50%) and the second factor drying time (60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, 150 minutes). Parameter observations on the study include vitamin C content, ash content, tannin levels, moisture, aroma, color and flavor. The addition of avocado leaves give a highly significant effect (p <0.05) of the vitamin C content, ash content, tannin levels, moisture, aroma, color and flavor. Drying time provides highly significant effect (p <0.05) of the vitamin C content, ash content, tannin levels, moisture, aroma, color and flavor. The influence of the interaction between the addition of avocado leaves and drying time provides highly significant effect (p <0.01) on levels of vitamin C, tannin content, and ash content, Keywords: Tea leaves of the soursop, avocado leaves, drying time

Abstract

The research on the application of fertilizer ABG (Bio Amazing Growth) and compost on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L. Coss) has been carried out by using a randomized block design (RBD) consists of a two-factor factorial researched and 3 replications. ABG fertilizer treatments showed significant effect on the observed parameters such as plant height, leaf number and leaf area. But showed no real effect on the other parameters. Compost fertilizer treatments showed significant effect on all parameters except the parameter observations shoot root ratio shows no real effect. The interaction of fertilizer treatment and fertilizer Compost ABG showed significant effect on leaf area observed parameters, but the effect is not significant on the observation parameters plant height, number of leaves, root shoot ratio.Keywords: fertilizer ABG, compost, growth, production of green cabbage

Abstract

Penelitian tentang pengaruh suhu dan waktu penyimpanan terhadap kadar gula reduksi yang terkandung dalam buah salak telah dilakukan. Buah salak disimpan dalam suhu yang berbeda: suhu ruang, 34ºC, 37ºC d an 40 ºC. Analisis kandungan gula reduksi buah salak ditentukan selang setiap hari mulai 0 hari sampai 9 hari penyimpanan dengan metode Nelson-Somogy menggunakan Spektrofotometer 1101. Kandungan gula reduksi sebelum penyimpanan 1,276% dan kandungan maksimum gula reduksi diperoleh pada penyimpanan 37ºC setelah 3 hari yaitu 8,14%. Kadar gula reduksi maksimum pada suhu ruang (7 hari), 34 ºC (5hari) dan 40 ºC ( 2 hari) masing-masing: 7.92%, 8.073% dan 4.640%..Kata kunci: gula reduksi, salak, padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

The  research on the utilization of cabbage (Brassica oleracea) waste as a preservative tilapia (Oreochromis sp) with RAL factorial method with 2 replications.The first factor is NaCl concentration (K) which consists of 4 levels, namely: K1 = 1%, K2 = 2%, 3% = K3, K4 = 4%. Factor II is storage time (L) which consists of 4 levels, namely: L1 = 2 days, L2 = 4 days, L3 = 6 days, L4 = 8 days. The parameters observed from the data analysis showed that NaCl concentration and storage time significantly affected the protein content, moisture content, organoleptic aroma, texture organoleptic tests, organoleptic color.Keywords: utilization, cabbage waste, preservative, parrot fish

Abstract

The research of grafting Maleic Anhydride onto Cyclized Natural Rubber has been carried out in an Internal Mixer 150oC in absence of Benzoyil Peroxide with rotor speed 80 rpm. Physical properties of the grafting product determined such as softening point, acid value, color, viscosity, and glass transition themperature. Compatibilty of the grafting product also investigated. The physical properties of the grafting product were not signicanly different with blank, except glass transition themperature was increased. Abstract

AbstractThe research on the degree of grafting of maleic anhydride (MA) on Cyclic Natural Rubber/CNR with the initiator Dicumyl Peroxide (DCP) has done. Grafting process carried out by reflux in a flask technique coupled with the base of the condenser and oil bath at a temperature of (105-110)°C, variations in the concentration of MA (3, 6, 9, 12, 15) phr, DCP variation inisiator concentration (0.05; 0.1; 0.15) molar ratio and variation in time (15, 30, 60, 90) minutes. Determination of the degree of grafting is then performed by the method of titration and FTIR spectra analysis to determine the grafting of MA on CNR chain. The results showed that the MA-g-CNR occurs at 15 phr comparison with the degree of grafting of 0.12% for the variation of the concentration of MA; 0.15 molar ratio to the degree of grafting of 0.07% for the variation in concentration of DCP inisiatior; 90 minutes with a degree grafting of 0.14% for the time variation.Keywords: grafting, cyclic natural rubber, maleic anhydride, dicumyl peroxide

Abstract

Cyclization of natural rubber has been carried out by the chain scission process preceded earlier. Chain scission process performed in a solution of phenol at a temperature of 1800C by using Brosse method, oxidation reaction with fenilhidrazin and oxygen . While the cyclization of natural rubber was conducted by Tutorskii method , using lewis acid catalyst, P2O5. Characterization of raw materials and products of the chain scission and cyclization performed by infrared spectroscopy analysis. The infra red spectra showed the strong peak at 2925 cm-1 and 1446 cm-1 , reduced absorption at 1600s cm-1, the emergence of a new peak at 757 cm-1 and a weaker absorption peak at 835 cm-1. The absorption peaks of cyclic natural rubber of crumb rubber ( SIR - 10 ) also changed . The results showed that the percentage of chain scission were 13.1 % on the latex and 2 % on the SIR - 10 . While the percentage of cyclization yield of latex and SIR - 10 were 22.8 and 73.1 %, respectively.Keywords : cyclic natural rubber, chain scission, cyclization

Abstract

The objectives study was to investigate the effect of  CaSO4  consentrations and clotting time on quality of  jackfruit seed tofu. This study used a completely randomized  factorial design with  two replications. The first factor is CaSO4 consentration (C), which consists of 4 levels are: C1 = 1%, C2 = 2%, C3 = 3% and C4 = 4%. The second factors is clotting time (L) consisting of 4 levels, namely: L1 = 30 minutes,  L2 = 60 minutes, L3 = 90 minutes and L4 = 120 minutes. Parameters that observed: protein content, sucrose content, organoleptic color, flavor and texture. CaSO4 consentration and clotting time influenced the protein and sugar content, organoleptic color, flavor and texture. Keywords: tofu, jackfruit seeds, calcium sulfate, clotting.

Abstract

AbstractThe research of grafting methyl methacrylate (MMA) onto Cyclic Natural Rubber (CNR) has been carried out. Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) was used as a inisiator and temperature condition at 90oC with variation of time 1 and 2 hours. Grafting process was done with technique of reflux in a tree-neck flask  with condenser and oil bath. Spectra analysis FTIR performed for determine the presence of grafted MMA on the backbone of CNR. The results showed that the product CNR-g-MMA was formed with the marked appearance of the absorption peak wave numbers at 1731 and 1730 cm-1 (carbonyl group absorption) typical for carbonyl (C = O) of metal methacrylate.
