Abstract

This study aimed at determining the effectiveness of biofertilizer with different concentrations on plant growth of soybean “edamame” (glycin max). Biofertilizer in this study consists of microbial consortia (lactobacillus, pseudomonas, bacillus, saccharomyces, rhizobium, azotobacter, azospirillum, and cellulomonas). The treatment consists of 3 biofertilizer concentrations (25%, 50%, dan 75%), as well as the negative control and positive control (100% chemical fertilizer equivalent 5g/plant). The result showed that treatment b3 (biofertilizer 75%) gave better results on plant growth compared with other treatments.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a country that has many types of plants, one of which is medicinal plants, Kasiyan Village is a village located in the Puger district, Jember district, this village grows a lot of plants that are used as medicine by the local community, the purpose of this study is to identify the types of medicinal plants part of the population. as well as how to use it by the people of Kasiyan Village, it is hoped that this can enrich biology learning resources packaged in the form of booklets. Results: There are 47 species of medicinal plants from 25 families that are found in the family Euphorbiaceae. The part of the plant that is widely used is the leaf part with a percentage of 40%. How process plants that are often used is boiled with a percentage of 29%. Conclusions: Medicinal plants have properties that can be used as a treatment of diseases considering the many properties obtained from this medicinal plant for the body not only that this medicinal plant more natural and more efficient.

Abstract

One type of food consumed by vegetarians is nugget by developing innovations of rose petals into food nugget which has a good taste, it will attract the community as vegetarian food. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct sensory testing related to the innovation of rose nuggets. This study consists of several stages, namely the making of rose petal nuggets starting with the manufacturing trial. The formulation obtained from the results of the trial preparation will be conducted by sensory testing of panelists on color, aroma, taste, and texture with three comparisons of substitution formulas. In procuring the raw material for roses for processing nuggets, the results of the roses treatment test after the harvesting process have an effect on the product yield. As a result of the eight times test, we obtained the method and loading material for rose petals. Based on the results of sensory testing it was found that formulation B achieved the highest average value. On the average color specifications panelists give the highest value in formulation B of 88.89, on the aroma specifications the highest value in formulation B is 92.59, in the specification of the highest value in formulation B is 98.15, and on the highest value texture specifications in formulation B is 99.26. Based on the test results of preference also obtained that formulation B achieved the highest average value.

Abstract

The Liquid smoke is the dipersion of the Smoke in the air as the result of distillation or biomass pyrolysis of Cocos nucifera. This research was to know the effectiveness of Liquid smoke of Cocos nucifera to the growth of E. coli. The research was done in Microbiology Laboratory of the Medical Faculty of Jember University. This research is laboratorist experimental with used CRD (Completely Randomized design) with 3 times repetition. The data analysis used SPSS version 11 with Anova and Duncan. This research use some concentration, there are is 12,5%, 25%, 50%, and 100%, positiv control (klorin), and negatif control (aquades). The result of experiment by using Anova, it was kwon that Liquid smoke of in the concentration 12,5%, 25%, 50%, and 100%, to E. Colihave significance value is 0,00 (P<0,05), so every treatment has different result significantly. Whereas, the Duncan analysis showed 100% significantly different with another concentration, including positive and negative control. The 50% concentration has significant different with the 12,5% concentration, and the 25% concentration also has different result with K+ and K-. Whereas K+, K-, and 12,5% has didn’t different.That result proved that Liquid smoke can resist the growth of E. Coli.Key Word :Escherichia coli, Liquid Smoke.

Abstract

Ekstrak kelopak mawar merah diperoleh dari hasil ekstraksi kelopak bunga mawar merah dari spesies Rosa damascene. Proses ekstraksi ini menggunakan pelarut universal yaitu aquades. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivan ekstrak kelopak mawar merah terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Jember.Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Eksperimental Laboratoris dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali pengulangan. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS versi 11 dengan uji antara lain : uji Anova, dan uji Duncan. Penelitian ini mengunakan beberapa konsentrasi yaitu: 12,5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, serta kontrol positif (nistatin) dan kontrol negatif (aquades steril).Berdasarkan hasil uji ANOVA pengaruh ekstrak kelopak mawar merah terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans diperoleh nilai F hitung sebesar 60,59 dan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,000, karena p<0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kelopak mawar merah berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan, dengan hasil yaitu konsentrasi 100% berbeda signifikan dengan konsentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, kontrol positif serta kontrol negatif. Sehingga berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kelopak mawar merah dengan konsentrasi 100% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans.Kata Kunci: Kelopak bunga mawar merah (Rosa damascene), Candida albicans.

Abstract

Ylang flower (Cananga odorata) is a plant that contains essential oils, flavonoids and saponins that are useful as a natural antibacterial. In this research, ylang flower antibacterial content obtained from a squeezed and boiled method. Serial concentrations used were 12,5%, 25%, 50% and 100%. While tetracycline 12.5% as the positive control and sterile distilled water as a negative control. There are differences in the effectiveness of antibacterial ylang flower of a squeezed and boiled method, it is known from the formation of inhibition zone on the test medium with Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 3x repetition. One Way Test results on freshly obtained ylang flowers calculated F value of 4.953 with 0.011 significance value, Ylang flowers being in the stew is not obtained F count. So in this research note ylang flower juice is more effective against Staphylococcus aureus growth compared with a decoction of ylang-ylang flowers.Keywords : Juice, Ylang flower (Cananga odorata), Staphylococcus aureus, Stews

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in the effectiveness of the juice and decoction of the leaves Ageratum conyzoides L. against Trichophyton rubrum growth. This study is the experimental category. Experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications and analyzed to determine differences Barriers Minimum Concentration (MIC). The study was conducted in vitro using the method of dilution and methods holes or pitting. Results of the study will be analyzed by ANOVA Test, Duncan and T-Test. Based on the test results of the analysis concludes the difference in effectiveness between the juice and decoction of the leaves Ageratum conyzoides L. Ageratum conyzoides L. leaf Freshly have inhibitory to the growth of the fungus Trichophyton rubrum and (MIC) while the stew is not only on the leaves Freshly Ageratum conyzoides L. Concentration barriers minimum (MIC) Preliminary test (UP) at concentrations of 50% inhibition zone with a diameter of 1.1 cm, while the final test (UA) minimum obstacle concentration (MIC) at a concentration of 40% with a mean diameter of 1.61 cm inhibition zone.Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides L., effectiveness, MIC, Trichophyton rubrum

Abstract

Educations  is very important  to make a good or bad  of  individual innormative. Learn is a work or activites that apose to turn persons, also in turning behavior, attitudes, traditions, knowledges, and skill. This research attempts to increasing the activity of student learning to learn the matter of moving system  in plants on the Inquiry model. Type of research is use classroom actions research (CAR). The procedure use a cycle model, based on the result of research data showed 43,2% of student learning activity on the first cycle and 86% on the second cycle. While in the learning outcomes of students on the first cycle showed 46% and 81% on the second cycle. This case proves that the activity and learning outcomes of students can  increase by Inquiry model, make students think and  be active in the process of intelectual activity and learning experiences is something meaningfull in real life, tested by experimenting to answer questions that real, conclude hypotesis and conclusions.Keywords: Model  Inquiry Learning, Learning Activity

Abstract

Plants have a variety of function one of them as a medicine. Ageratum conyzoides L. plant efficacious as antimicrobial. This study aims to determine the effectiveness the leaf juice of Ageratum conyzoides L. on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum fungus. This research was conducted invitro using dilution method and hole method, and using Randomized Complete Design with three repetitions. The results will be analyzed using Anova Test, followed by Duncan test. Based on the results of analysis it is known that the leaf juice of Ageratum conyzoides L has the inhibitory power to the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. Minimum constraint concentration (KHM) of Ageratum conyzoides L leaf extract on Trichophyton rubrum growth was present at concentration of 40% with mean diameter of 1.61 cm resistance zone. So it can be concluded that the leaf juice of Ageratum conyzoides L is effective against Trichophyton rubrum growth, because it can inhibit its growth.Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides L., effectiveness, MIC, Trichophyton rubrum

Abstract

Media merupakan salah satu alat bantu yang digunakan oleh guru dalam roses pembelajaran. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa rendah, dimana nilai hasil belajar siswa masih banyak yang di bawah KKM, terutama pada saat ulangan harian. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan PTK, dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan data kuantitatif yang berasal dari tes kognitif hasil belajar siswa. Dengan subyek penelitian sebanyak 18 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut rata- rata nilai kognitif siswa pada siklus I sebesar 81. Pada siklus II diperoleh rata-ratanilai kognitif siswa sejumlah 90, maka terjadi peningkatan sejumlah 9%. Maka penerapan media menggunakan penerapan media Peta Jelajah Taman Botani sangat efektif berasarkan hasil pencapaiaan hasl belajar siswa sehingga dapat membantu dalam keberhasilan proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar, Peta Jelajah, Taman Botani.
