Abstract

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is crucial in mitigating the spread of infections within the pharmacy industry, manufacturing sectors, and healthcare facilities. Airborne particles and contaminants can be released during the handling of pharmaceuticals, the operation of machinery, or patient care activities. These particles can be transmitted through close contact with an infected individual or by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching one's face (mouth, nose, or eyes). PPE, including face masks, plays a vital role in minimizing the risk of transmission of infectious diseases. Although mandates for wearing face masks might relax as situations improve and vaccination rates increase, staying prepared for potential future outbreaks and the resurgence of infectious diseases remains important. Therefore, an automated system for face mask detection is important for future use. This research proposes real-time face mask detection by identifying who is (i) not wearing a mask and (ii) wearing a mask. This research presents a deep-learning approach using a pre-trained model, MobileNet-V2. The model is trained on a 10,000 dataset of images of individuals with and without masks. The result shows that the pre-trained MobileNet-V2 model obtained a high accuracy of 98.69% on the testing dataset.

Abstract

Kinerja organisasi didefinisikan sebagai output atas pelaksanaan program yang mendukung visi, misi, tugas dan tanggung jawab dari sebuah organisasi. Kinerja sebuah organisasi akan ditentukan oleh seberapa besar karyawan ingin berkontribusi terhadap sebuah organisasi yang bahkan melebihi tuntutan sebuah organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari organizational culture, workload, dan leader member exchange terhadap kinerja organisasi melalui organizational citizenship behaviour. Dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif berupa path-analysis dan uji sobel dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 32 sampel. Ditemukan bahwa variabel organizational culture dan leader member exchange memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap organizational citizenship behaviour. Sedangkan variabel workload tidak berpengaruh terhadap organizational citizenship behaviour. Lebih lanjut, variabel organizational citizenship behaviour berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap organizational performance. Hasil uji sobel juga menunjukkan bahwa hanya variabel organizational culture yang memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap organizational performance melalui organizational citizenship behaviour. Penelitian ini juga menyarankan kepada kantor perwakilan bank indonesia untuk meningkatkan hubungan atau relasi antara karyawan agar meningkatkan kinerja organisasi. Kata Kunci: Budaya Organisasi, Beban Kerja, Leader Member Exchange, Kinerja Organisasi, Organizational Citizenship Behavior.

Abstract

Background: Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the disruption of heart function due to lack of blood due to blockage of the coronary arteries which results in damage to the lining of the blood vessel walls (atherosclerosis). Objective: The purpose of this study is to know the analysis of intake of macronutrients, vitamin C, fiber, and total cholesterol levels in patients with coronary heart disease. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design. Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design. This research was conducted from April to May 2023 at the Siti Fatimah Provincial Hospital. South Sumatra. The research sample was chosen by accidental sampling with a sample size of 60 respondents. Results: The results show that there is a significant relationship between excess intake of macronutrients and lack of consumption of fiber and vitamin C on increased total cholesterol levels. Conclusion: The conclusion from the results of statistical tests shows that there is a relationship between excess intake of macronutrients and lack of consumption.

Abstract

Populasi manusia dan berkembangannya perekonomian berdampak terhadap meningkatnya konsumsi energi yang digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari - hari. Penggunaan konsumsi terbesar energi yang berasal dari bahan bakar fosil. Sumber bahan bakar fosil memiliki jumlah yang terbatas, apabila dikonsumsi secara terus menerus dalam jangka waktu yang lama akan mengakibatkan krisis energi. Hal ini dikarenakan sifat dari energi fosil yang membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk dapat diperbaharaui. Oleh sebab itu, pemanfaatan bioenergi perlu dikembangkan secara optimal. Bionergi adalah energi terbarukan yang didapatkan dari sumber – sumber biologis, umunya adalah biomassa. Salah satu alternatif energi dari pengolahan biomassa adalah arang yang dapat digunakan untuk bahan bakar. Biomassa yang banyak digunakan saat ini adalah berasal dari kayu dan tempurung kelapa, potensi lain yang belum dioptimalkan yaitu limbah kulit durian. Pembuatan arang umumnya menggunakan drum kiln, namun drum kiln yang biasa digunakan oleh masyarakat mempunyai beberapa permasalahan, yaitu proses penyalaan awal yang sulit, waktu proses pengarangan yang lama, dan banyaknya panas yang hilang kelingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang drum kiln yang sesuai dengan karakteristik biomassa yang digunakan untuk proses pengarangan dan menghasilkan kualitas arang kulit durian yang sesuai dengan standar mutu yang ditetapkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancang bangun dengan melakukan identifikasi karakteristik kulit durian dan melakukan perancangan konsep drum kiln yang dirancang dan melakukan uji kinerja dengan variabel yang dihitung yaitu kadar air, kadar abu, senyawa volatil, dan nilai kalor. Nilai dari hasil uji kinerja drum kiln diperoleh nilai kadar air 14.53 %, kadar abu 12.06 %, senyawa volatile 18.44 %, nilai kalor 4648.46 kal/g

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate a deep learning-based iris detection system using a specialized Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture. The research methodology includes data set preprocessing, CNN model design, training using Adam optimization, as well as evaluation using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. The dataset used was obtained from Kaggle and preprocessed before being divided into training, validation, and testing sets. The CNN model consists of three convolutional layers with increasing filter sizes (32, 64, and 128), ReLU activation, batch normalization, and MaxPooling layers for efficient feature extraction, as well as dropout regularization to reduce overfitting. Experimental results show that the proposed model achieves a high classification accuracy of 97.33%, with robust performance against variations and noise in iris images. Comparative analysis with traditional iris recognition methods confirms the superiority of deep learning in handling challenges such as lighting changes and occlusions. Although the results are promising, challenges such as data bias and computational demands are still a concern. Future research will explore more advanced architectures as well as additional pre-processing techniques to improve the generalizability and effectiveness of the system in real-world applications.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of strategic product placement and promotion strategies using the Customer's Purchase Behavior Dataset. The study utilized a controlled experimental design, wherein trial stores were matched with control stores based on pre-trial performance metrics, including total sales and customer demographics. A detailed exploratory data analysis (EDA) was conducted to segment customers based on life-stage and purchasing behaviour. Additionally, a t-Test was performed to determine whether price sensitivity and purchasing patterns differed significantly between mainstream, budget, and premium customer segments. The results indicate that trial stores implementing strategic initiatives experienced a measurable uplift in sales compared to their control counterparts. Young and mid-age singles and couples in the mainstream category were found to be more willing to pay a premium for chips, whereas families tended to purchase in bulk. The t-test confirmed statistically significant differences in purchasing behaviour across customer segments. The findings suggest that a data-driven, segment-specific marketing approach can optimise retail performance by aligning promotions and pricing with the behavioural tendencies of different consumer groups. This study demonstrates that well-targeted strategic retail initiatives can significantly improve sales performance. The insights derived from this research provide retailers with actionable strategies for tailoring product placement and promotions to maximise customer engagement. Future work should incorporate machine learning techniques to refine predictive models for real-time decision-making in retail marketing.

Abstract

Background of study:  Blood cell analysis is vital for diagnosing medical conditions, but traditional manual methods are laborious and error-prone. Deep learning, especially YOLO models, offers automated solutions for medical image analysis. However, the real-world effectiveness of the latest YOLOv11 in blood cell detection is not thoroughly investigated, as general object detection improvements may not translate to biomedical images due to their unique characteristics.Aims and scope of paper: This study systematically compares YOLOv10 and YOLOv11 on a public blood cell detection dataset to assess if YOLOv11's advancements provide tangible benefits for blood cell classification. The goal is to identify the most effective model for accurate and efficient detection in microscopic images, guiding AI-driven diagnostic tool selection.Methods: Both models were trained and tested under identical conditions using the Kaggle Blood Cell Detection Dataset (RBCs, WBCs, Platelets). Images were resized to 640x640 pixels. Performance metrics included mAP (mAP@50 and mAP@50–95), Precision, Recall, F1-score, speed, model complexity, and training time.Result: YOLOv11n consistently showed higher accuracy (mAP50: 0.9279 vs. 0.9120; mAP50-95: 0.6524 vs. 0.6347), particularly for RBCs and WBCs. However, YOLOv11n had longer inference (11.35 ms/image) and postprocessing times (8.64 ms/image) compared to YOLOv10n (7.00 ms/image and 0.90 ms/image). YOLOv11n trained faster (0.311 hours vs. 0.375 hours), with a smaller model size (5.5 MB vs. 5.8 MB), fewer parameters, and reduced computational complexity.Conclusion: YOLOv11n offers superior accuracy and improved training efficiency, making it suitable for medical image object detection where precision is paramount. The increased inference and postprocessing times indicate a performance-speed trade-off. Model selection should balance these factors based on deployment context.

Abstract

Empowerment community has been carried out through planting Kelor and Meniran to be used as health food during the Covid 19 pandemic. The implementation was carried out in Village of Pipa Putih, RT 6, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. It is 30 km from the city of Palembang, a collaboration partner with the Palembang Health Polytechnic. Using two plots of land owned by the residents village of Pipa Putih, the implementing groups are PKK Cadres and the Office Pipa Putih . Provide farming equipment and garden fences. Provide Kelor dan Meniran seeds obtained from nurseries, then given to partner groups to be planted and maintained for 2 months Monitoring was carried out every week on the activities of growing Kelor dan Meniran. The results obtained are Kelor dan Meniran plants can be harvested after 1.5 months of cultivation. The harvest can be processed into healthy food in the form of agar pudding, bandrek, cendol, chips and noodles made from Kelor dan Meniran. Evaluation took from the increase in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that have been realized in community service planting Kelor dan Meniran. The theme of this activity was followed up by making the superior ready-to-eat product of cadre levels PKK Pipa Putih and at the coverage village.

Abstract

Demam pada anak merupakan alasan konsultasi tersering ke dokter anak dan dokter umum, sekitar 30% dari seluruh total kunjungan. Demam yang tinggi atau berkelanjutan pada bayi perlu diwaspadai karena sistem pengaturan suhu tubuh mereka belum berkembang dengan sempurna. Hal tersebut belum dipahami sepenuhnya oleh keluarga yang merawat bayi dan anak sehingga dosen Poltekkes Palembang perlu melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tentang hal tersebut. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penggunaan obat anti demam pada bayi dan balita di 3 (tiga) posyandu wilayah kecamatan Kalidoni Palembang serta meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu dan keluarga dalam memilih dan memberikan obat anti demam pada anak-anaknya. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah dengan penyuluhan langsung, ceramah, diskusi serta menunjukkan contoh obat bebas dan pengunaannya. Dilakukan identifikasi terhadap pemahaman penggunaan obat demam. Hasilnya akan mengambarkan tingkat pengetahuan, kepedulian dan kepatuhan keluarga terhadap penggunaan obat demam pada anak dalam keluarga saat penyuluhan. Selanjutnya dilakukan penyebaran kuisioner yang menggali pengetahuan dan sikap peserta tentang penggunaan obat demam. Hasilnya akan mengambarkan tingkat penyerapan informasi yang diberikan saat penyuluhan. Dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini diharapkan ibu-ibu serta keluarga bayi dan balita di posyandu wilayah kecamatan Kalidoni Palembang memperoleh informasi tentang pemilihan dan pemberian obat anti demam pada anak-anaknya sehingga akan terhindar dari resiko penyakit lain akibat demam. Dari hasil uji Paired sample t Test SPSS terhadap Posyandu didapatkan hasil sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan adalah berbeda, yang berarti efektif secara nyata. Ini berarti pengetahuan para ibu-ibu bertambah sesudah diadakannya penyuluhan penanganan demam secara swamedikasi pada bayi dan balita, sehingga ibu-ibu dapat memilih dan memberikan obat anti demam pada anak-anaknya dan akan terhindar dari resiko penyakit lain akibat demam
