Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi peran instructional leadership Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme Guru di SD Negeri 9 Betung. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN 9 Betung Kabupaten Banyuasin. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi serta studi pustaka. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa peran utama kepala sekolah dalam mengembangkan kualitas sumber daya guru di SD Negeri 9 Betung adalah sebagai berikut: 1) pendidik; 2) manajer; 3) administrator; 4) supervisor; 5) pemimpin; 6) inovator, dan 7) motivator. Kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kompetensi guru, baik sebagai pendidik, pengelola, pengurus, pengawas, pemimpin, inovator dan motivator.

Abstract

The current research aims to determine the significant influence of discovery learning (DL) and reading interest on comprehending students’ text at SMPN 1 Sembawang. This study selected 64 ninth-grade students from SMPN 1 Sembawa as samples using a two-stage random sampling technique. The quantitative factorial design method was applied in this investigation. The data was acquired via a questionnaire and a test: paired Sample t-test, Independent Sample t-test, and Two Ways ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The result showed that the discovery learning method significantly influenced ninth-grade students’ reading comprehension. Second, there was a significant influence of students’ reading interest toward ninth-grade students’ reading comprehension of folktales. Third, the student’s reading comprehension exam substantially impacted the DL and interest in reading. The result suggested that the discovery learning method and reading interest significantly impacted students’ reading comprehension. The study implies that the DLM helped pupils improve their reading comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari hasil observasi awal penulis yang mendapati bahwa instrumen yang digunakan dalam penilaian kinerja guru cenderung terakumulasi dalam kegitan pembelajaran yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran siswa. Melihat poin-poin instrumen penilaian kinerja guru di SD Negeri 19 Betung tersebut, peneliti menemukan indikator bahwa tugas pokok dan fungsi guru belum tampak dalam substansi penilaian kinerja guru di SD Negeri 19 Betung. Penyusunan instrumen penilaian kinerja guru dengan sumber utama teman sejawat, dan diri sendiri, menjadi sangat penting.Bentuk self assesment dapat dipergunakan sebagai media penilaian diri.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to gain a deep understanding of analyzing the hegemony of power and resistance of the Indonesian film entitled Penyalin Cahaya. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method used to analyze the hegemony and resistance as well as the symbols contained in the film Copying Light. Data collection uses literature study, observation, and documentation techniques. The steps used in analyzing films with the theme of sexual harassment are: 1) watching and observing carefully repeatedly every scene and dialogue in the film, 2) classifying data by capturing the scenes of each scene in the film, 3) , analyzing, reading, and recording every scene and dialogue that is considered important, 4) analyzing symbols, 5) analyzing the hegemony and resistance contained in the film Copying Light, 6) making conclusions from the analysis carried out, and 7) compiling a research report. The results of the study show that the behavior experienced by victims of sexual crimes in the film Copying Light is inseparable from the hegemony of power and victims are forced to remain silent from the sexual harassment they experience.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the effect of organizational commitment and work motivation on teacher performance. This research uses quantitative methods with correlational type of research. The population of this study was 44 people, namely teachers of Sungai Rotan 1 High School. The sampling technique in this study is the census (quota) so that the entire population is sampled. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect on the performance of Sungai Rotan 1 High School teachers; (2) work motivation has a positive and significant effect on the performance of teachers at Sungai Rotan 1 High School; and (3) organizational commitment and work motivation together have a positive and significant effect on the performance of Sungai Rotan 1 High School teachers. The conclusion of this study is that to improve teacher performance, organizational commitment and work motivation are needed.

Abstract

This research aimed at determining how the application of extracurricular coaching in full day school study activities at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara in 2019. The writer used a qualitative approach. Data ware obtained from the principal, teachers, parents and students. Data analysis was conducted based on the results of document reviews, interviews and observations. The results of the research showed that extracurricular coaching in the full day school study activities was done in several ways. For examples: a) during time of self development activities on Friday, b) through routine meetings on Wednesday during recess, c) conducted according to a predetermined schedule, and d) carried out intensively in preparation for competitions. The inhibiting factors in the implementation of extracurricular coaching were lack of time effectiveness, lack of student interes in joining extracurricular activities, and parents who restricted their children from attending extracurricular activities due to the relatively remote distance between school and their homes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the achievements of character education programs in the implementation of learning activities, extracurricular activities, and the application of character education civilization programs at Elementary School 5 Betung Regency of Banyuasin. This study uses the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product) as a to for evaluating. The method used is this study is descriptive. Data collection in the evaluation process is interview, observation, and document study. The data analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Sources of data were obtained from headmaster, homerooms, teachers, 5th of A grade students, and 10 representatives student guardians from grade 5.A. The results of the study show that character education programs have achieved very good results carried out by school residents. At the context stage the average achievement in the very good category, at the input stage in the very good category, at the process stage in the very good category, and at the product stage in the good category.

Abstract

The research aims to understand the relationship between learning style, self-efficacy, and reading comprehension. This research was carried out at SMA N 4 Palembang of tenth-grade students. This research used a quantitative approach. Data testing techniques and questionnaires were used in this research. 63 students were given a multiple-choice reading comprehension test, a learning style questionnaire, and self – an efficacy questionnaire. Data testing techniques used in this research include normality tests, linearity tests, correlational analysis, simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The result of this study showed that 1) learning style did significantly correlate to reading comprehension, 2) self-efficacy did significantly correlate to reading comprehension, and 3) learning style, self-efficacy, and reading comprehension had a significant correlation. It was found that the R square was 0.045. It means that learning style and self-efficacy gave a 4.5% contribution to reading comprehension achievement. It could be concluded the correlation was at a medium level.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of a self-made reading assessment strategy in enhancing the reading comprehension skills and reading interest of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 20 Palembang. The research follows an action research design, with two implementation cycles. In the first cycle, the strategy is integrated into reading instruction, and learning objectives are established. The second cycle focuses on implementing the strategy and guiding students in using self-made assessment tools. The results show a positive impact on students’ reading comprehension achievement, with a significant increase in the percentage of students meeting the passing grade from the first cycle to the second cycle. Additionally, the study reveals a noteworthy improvement in students’ reading interests. The implementation of the self-made reading assessment strategy enhances student engagement, motivation, and enthusiasm for reading. The use of self-made assessment tools encourages students to explore additional reading materials, leading to increased reading interest and knowledge acquisition. These findings contribute to the field of education by highlighting the effectiveness of the self-made reading assessment strategy in improving students’ reading abilities and fostering their interest in reading. The study emphasizes the importance of ongoing reflection and refinement in instructional approaches to sustain and enhance students’ reading skills.

Abstract

The aim in the study is to comprehend and determine how students’ anxiety and ability to use grammar influence their English achievement in the X-grade at three schools in the districts of Semendawai Barat and Cempaka, OKU East regency. For this study, ex post facto design was applied. At SMA N 1 Cempaka, SMA N 2 Semendawai West, and SMA N 1 Semendawai West, this research was carried out. The 96 participants from 3 different schools made up the sample. In this study, several data testing methods were employed, including normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, linearity tests, autocorrelation tests, correlation studies of the r-product moment, simple regression analyses, and double regression analyses. The findings of this study demonstrated that: 1) grammar proficiency significantly influences English success; 2) The achievement of students in English has been considerably impacted by students’ worry; and 3) Although only by 10.8%, grammatical proficiency and anxiety together have a considerable impact on English learning outcomes.
