Abstract

This study tries to analyze the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in improving the reading and writing skills of Arabic for the students of the eleventh grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Donomulyo. TPS is a cooperative learning strategy where active learning by students is elicited through participation in learning. It is expected that with the strategy, students will raise their comprehension through discussion and interaction with their peers. With TPS, the activities of students in the learning process are expected to be improved. This research was conducted to determine the effect of TPS on student proficiency in the Arabic language. In descriptive qualitative data collection, observation analysis, interviews, and document analysis are used. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model involving stages of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation methods were also undertaken to validate the results of this research, thereby comparing sources of data and the methods of their collection. This enhances accuracy and credibility in findings. The approach allows for an in-depth understanding of the phenomena being studied. It was found that the reading and writing skills of the students drastically improve with the implementation of TPS. Before the strategy was carried out, only 35% of the students met or achieved the minimum competency standard for reading and 40% met it for writing. It rose to 83% and 90% for reading and writing, respectively, upon using TPS. The model favored enhancing student involvemen, interest, and understanding in learning. The findings will help in devising ways of teaching Arabic language and shall serve as a guide to the educators in implementing strategies that are cooperative in nature.

Abstract

General Background: The teaching of Nahwu in Islamic boarding schools is often hindered by monotonous, teacher-centered methods that limit students’ comprehension and engagement. Specific Background: At Daarul Abror Modern Islamic Boarding School, Grade II-C students displayed low achievement in Nahwu due to limited interactive and contextualized learning. Knowledge Gap: While the Jigsaw cooperative learning model has been shown to improve language skills in other contexts, its application in teaching Nahwu with the Nahwu Wāḍiḥ text in modern pesantren remains underexplored. Aims: This study investigates the effectiveness of the Jigsaw method in enhancing students’ comprehension of Nahwu and fostering active participation. Results: Using a qualitative case study with observations, interviews, and pre–post tests, findings reveal improved mastery of grammatical structures, higher test scores (from 62.60% to 68.90%), and increased student motivation and collaboration. Novelty: Unlike prior studies limited to Arabic or English descriptive texts, this research applies the Jigsaw strategy specifically to Nahwu instruction within a modern pesantren framework. Implications: The study highlights the potential of cooperative learning to strengthen both cognitive and social aspects of students’ learning, offering teachers a practical model to promote deeper comprehension, accountability, and engagement in grammar instruction. Highlights: Jigsaw method improved students’ comprehension and motivation in Nahwu. Pre–post tests showed higher achievement after implementation. Abstract

Islam dan Arab seperti dua sisi mata uang yang tidak bisa dipisahkan. Transmisi ilmu-ilmu Islam tidak mungkin dipisahkan dari bahasa Arab. Setiap muslim harus melafalkan bahasa Aab dalam kehidupan kesehariannya. Dari perspektif inilah tokoh-tokoh dalam pendidikan Islam memiliki perhatian besar terhadap Bahasa Arab. Tokoh-tokoh yang menaruh perhatian besar terhadap bahasa Arab terdiri dari tokoh dunia Islam Internasional maupun dalam skala nasional Indonesia.  Para pelopor awal pendidikan Islam yang memiliki perhatian terhadap pendidikan bahasa Arab misalnya, Ibnu Miskawaih, al-Qabisi, al-Mawardi, Ibnu Khaldun, Ibnu Sina, al-Ghazali, Burhanuddin al-Zarnuji, Ibnu Jama’ah, dan Ibnu Taimiyah. Sedangkan di Indonesia, Ulama yang memiliki perhatian khusus dalam perndidikan Bahasa Arab misalnya adalah Mahmud Yunus dan Imam Zarkasyi. Sebenarnya banyak ulama di Indonesia yang mengajarkan bahasa Arab, namun tidak secara khusus ditujukan untuk maharah lughawiyah (kompetensi berbahasa). Pendidikan ilmu kebahasaan, terutama nahwu sharaf semisal di Pesantren diorientasikan sebagai suplemen dalam memahami kitab turats bukan untuk menguasai empat kemahiran berbahasa.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengeksplorasi penggunaan kecerdasan buatan (AI) sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru bahasa Arab. Dalam dunia pendidikan yang terus berkembang, kebutuhan akan metode pengajaran yang lebih efektif dan efisien semakin meningkat. Media berbasis AI menawarkan solusi inovatif dengan personalisasi pembelajaran, penghematan waktu, dan peningkatan interaktivitas dalam proses pelatihan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RD) dengan beberapa tahap yang mencakup analisis kebutuhan, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa media AI dapat menjadi alat yang sangat berguna dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogis guru bahasa Arab, mempercepat proses pembelajaran, dan memastikan penerapan teknologi secara efektif di kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the alignment of the curriculum structure in the Arabic Language Education study program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta with the competency needs of graduates that are relevant to the workforce and the advancement of scientific knowledge. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a document study approach, through the analysis of curriculum documents and Course Learning Outcomes. The results indicate that the curriculum has been systematically and structurally organized into four groups of courses: General Courses, Basic Educational Courses, Educational Expertise Courses of the Study Program, and Study Program Courses. The alignment between course learning outcomes and the curriculum in the domains of attitudes, knowledge, and skills has been fulfilled through various relevant courses, enabling the formation of graduates who not only possess knowledge and skills but also professional attitudes and strong character. This study recommends that curriculum development continues to be adjusted to the dynamic developments of science, technology, and labor market needs so that graduates can compete and contribute optimally.
