Abstract

A Study on the Effects of Nutrition Soybeans (Glicine max) on Reducing Total Cholesterol Levels in MenopauseLatar belakang: Kadar kolesterol darah yang meningkat merupakan resiko terjadinya arterosklerosis pada penyakit pada jantung koroner. Background: Increased blood cholesterol levels are a risk of arterosclerosis in coronary heart disease. Menopausal women have very low estrogen levels, thus leading to an increase in lipid profile risk factors. Soybean has high protein content, which is average 35%, even at high yielding varieties can reach 40-44%. Soy protein has a complete array of essential amino acids, as well as excellent digestibility. Amino acid content in soybean is mainly methionine and cysteine, while the lysine and threonine content is very high. Soy fat contains sufficient essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (omega-6) and linolenic acid (omega-3) to give a significant effect on health, especially in relation to cholesterol control and cholesterol disease and cardiovascular disease. The mechanism of lowering cholesterol by soybeans is caused by isoflavones that have estrogenic properties, resulting in a decrease in LDL, TG and an increase in HDL and ultimately a decrease in total cholesterol levels in the blood. There are various factors that affect the intake of soybean to decrease total cholesterol. Factors affecting soy intake in total cholesterol reduction are the form and type of isoflavones, isoflavone intake levels, research time, gender of the subject, lipid levels and status of menopause

Abstract

Abstract

People work in various types of jobs, such as foremen, labourers, farmers, etc.; they can encounter accidents at their workplace, and sometimes it may become a liability if someone gets hurt. One of these injuries is blunt trauma, which results from a mechanical force generated by a blunt object that interacts over some area. Most factory workers in these industries have experienced a history of occupational accidents, especially blunt trauma (up to 60% of overall workers in this workplace) in the Karangbesuki Sanitary Industry Center, Malang. Therefore, being able to quickly understand what workplace safety entails is important to promote safety; however, this knowledge may be quite limited when dealing with accident prevention. This article is intended to analyze the influence of occupational safety knowledge on efforts to prevent blunt trauma workplace accidents in the Sanitary Industry Center of Karangbesuki in Malang City. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study involving 42 workers at the Karangbesuki Sanitary Industry in Malang City. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires. The analysis of the data was conducted using IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software. Occupational safety knowledge has a significant effect on the incidence of blunt trauma workplace events, with the result that the probability is 0.00 < 0.05. It can be concluded that knowledge of occupational safety is very necessary so that incidents of blunt trauma in the workplace at the Sanitary Industry Center, Karangbesuki, Malang City, do not occur.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic affects entire communities and causes a huge impact on all life aspects which include biological, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. Health systems and health policies are promising developments and opportunities to review progress and accelerate interventions in COVID-19 control. Studies devoted to core holistic-comprehensive issues surrounding this pandemic are limited. Therefore, this article aimed to review several best practice studies that reflect holistic-comprehensive approaches to COVID-19. A comprehensive literature review was written based on 15 articles from the data sources which are Google Scholar, Science Direct, ProQuest Health, and Medical Complete, and ProQuest Science Journals from 2010 to 2020, searched terms related to holistic, comprehensive, outbreak, pandemic, epidemics, and COVID-19. There are many evidence-based practices on safe and effective strategies to improve all aspects of well-being before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Among these promising strategies, a holistic-comprehensive approach could also be considered as a necessary action to improve health policy during the pandemic. A holistic-comprehensive approach involved providing bio-psycho-socio-spiritual care and offered a continuum of healthcare that provides promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. A holistic-comprehensive approach to the COVID-19 pandemic requires a sustained commitment from entire communities, stakeholders, and policymakers to achieve better health outcomes for all.

Abstract

Background : Hypertension is one of the leading non-communicable diseases that contributes significantly to global mortality and imposes a major economic and public health burden, including in Indonesia. The agro-industrial community has a high level of vulnerability to hypertension due to the complex interplay of psychobiological, environmental, and behavioral risk factors. Effective hypertension prevention strategies need to consider these factors to ensure that interventions are well-targeted and sustainable. Objective : To determine the influence of psychobiological, environmental, and behavioral risk factors on hypertension prevention efforts among the agro-industrial community in Trenggalek Regency. Methods: This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 348 respondents, representing the agro-industrial community, were selected using a systematic random sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS) method. Results: : The results showed that the three main factors—psychobiological (age, sex, and genetics), environmental (stress and social well-being), and behavioral (dietary habits, smoking, and physical activity)—significantly influenced hypertension prevention efforts. Primary and secondary prevention had a greater impact on reducing hypertension risk compared to tertiary prevention. Age, educational level, and smoking habits were the most dominant factors affecting hypertension prevention. Conclusion: The study concludes that psychobiological, environmental, and behavioral factors significantly affect hypertension prevention efforts among the agro-industrial community.
