Abstract

This study aims to comprehend the actual conditions of business processes and to identify service blueprints in the Kebon Tunggul Tourism Village "Lembah Mbencirang" by analyzing their business activities and service flows to visitors. This research is community-based research (CBR) conducted using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. It resulted in the findings that there were various internal problems related to management during 2017-2020, especially related to the accountability and transparency of budget management in addition to more fundamental issues regarding tourist attraction management, such as the absence of an organizational structure, no clear division of staff duties, and the nonappearance of a standardized service flow. We concluded that basically, the business processes in the Lembah Mbencirang can be grouped into two, the first is the package tour services, and the second is the general visitors’ services. As a tourism product which is essentially a service product, service blueprint is very significant as an effort to understand the service experience from the perspective of the customer, which in this context was not previously owned by the manager. The service blueprint generated from this study can identify the existence of various service processes so that all staff can cognize the context and conditions of their duties in a more holistic customer service perspective.

Its means that the two models influence students' conceptual understanding of environmental pollution material. The guided inquiry model in this study has a higher impact than problem-based learning. These results are also supported by the N-Gain score on the guided inquiry model, which is higher than the problem-based learning model with scores of 0.67 and 0.53, respectively. Abstract

The development of tourism villages is an important issue in implementing sustainable tourism principles related to the triple bottom line concept. Pulesari Village is expected to become a tourist village that is able to integrate economic (profit), social (people), and environmental (planet) interests in managing its homestay business. The purpose of this research is to understand the homestay marketing model carried out by the Pulesari Tourism Village Manager in relation to the triple bottom line concept. This research uses data collection techniques through non-participatory observation, in depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study found that the community owns assets in the form of homestays and is managed professionally together with an institution formed by the village. A percentage profit-sharing system is used as an instrument for sharing income from homestay management. However, efforts to maintain environmental quality are still not the main promotional material because there are still weaknesses, especially in waste management. The community as part of the subject of economic activity in Pulesari Tourism Village needs to be further involved in the process of homestay management and marketing while balancing economic, social and environmental interests.

Abstract

The declining understanding and interest in historical studies among the millennial generation is a growing concern. Tourism has the potential to serve as a medium for enhancing historical comprehension, with the Trowulan site—an archaeological relic of the Majapahit Kingdom in Mojokerto Regency, East Java—offering a prime example. This study aims to analyze the activities and benefits of tourism based on historical heritage sites like Trowulan. A qualitative research method was employed, using a historical and descriptive-interpretative approach. Data were collected through literature reviews, field observations, and interviews conducted on-site. The findings indicate four key benefits millennial visitors gain from tourism activities at Trowulan: discovering physical evidence of the Majapahit Kingdom; increasing knowledge of Majapahit history through storytelling at the site; gaining new insights into Indonesia’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage; and fostering a deeper appreciation of the unique architectural achievements of Indonesia’s ancestors. The urgency of this study lies in addressing the declining interest among younger generations in cultural and historical education, which threatens the preservation of Indonesia's rich heritage. The novelty of this research is its focus on millennial visitors and its exploration of innovative strategies, such as integrating storytelling and interactive activities, to engage this demographic. This study contributes to the academic literature on heritage tourism by providing insights into the role of historical sites in promoting cultural and educational values. Practically, it offers actionable recommendations for tourism stakeholders to develop creative programs that ensure the sustainability and relevance of cultural heritage sites like Trowulan for future generations.
