Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the guided inquiry model and problem-based learning on the conceptual understanding of class VII A and VII K students of State Tsanawiyah Madrasa (MTs N) 3 Sragen on environmental pollution material. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a non equivalent control group design. After being treated with the guided inquiry model, the average of students' learning outcomes was 89.5, while the problem-based learning model was 88.3. To prove that there is an effect of the two models on students' conceptual understanding, a paired sample t-test was conducted, in which the two classes showed a significance <0.05 so that H1 was accepted or H0 was rejected. Its means that the two models influence students' conceptual understanding of environmental pollution material. The guided inquiry model in this study has a higher impact than problem-based learning. These results are also supported by the N-Gain score on the guided inquiry model, which is higher than the problem-based learning model with scores of 0.67 and 0.53, respectively. Both N-Gain scores are in the “medium” improvement category.

Abstract

One of the main problems in learning biology is the lack of student motivation in learning. This is partly due to the lack of learning media that can visualize learning more exciting and easily understood by students without multiple interpretations due to not seeing the real learning object. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the types or variants of e-learning media in biology learning and analyze the background problems based on previous studies of previous studies. The method used in this research is a literature study with a pure research style. The data collection technique is a library research technique with data sources in reference books and 37 articles relevant to research topics in the period 2013 to 2020. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis and exploration models, where the analysis results are used as a basis for interpretation. Based on the discussion that has been done, it can be concluded that this study found 15 types of e-learning media in biology learning that can increase student learning motivation, where the most influential media are android applications, interactive multimedia, animation, and original el-learning. In addition, it was also found that the background that caused the students' low motivation to learn was due to the lack of technology development in biology learning media, the lack of visualization of various objects of biology learning, and the lack of student interest in participating in biology learning.

Abstract

The world has faced a quite serious problem, namely decreasing environmental quality. As data released by UNEP in 2011 and 2012, that some indicators of the environmental quality are getting worse as occurs in Indonesia. Indonesia has the second highest biodiversity in the world after Brazil, but before that diversity has been successfully learned and utilized, nature is already damaged. It is marked by the loss of natural forest, coral reef damage, and so on. If there is not immediately respond, the environment will not able to support human life in a sustainable manner. Therefore, inculcation is important as the value to students who will use nature as the next generation. Planting can be realized through education, it is known the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). One kind of learning is biology which has the same material curriculum and will be integrated with Islamic material. The author hopes that in the next will be born the students who are able to support the sustainability of development. Both because of scientific awareness of science taught through biology or awareness of God's command taught through his fusion with religion. This paper used an explorative writing that is qualitative-descriptive and pure research. The results concluded that the learning of integration-interconnection of Islam and science in biology learning can help the success of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Abstract

Some online learning methods are experiencing very fast dynamics these days. The dynamics that are developing are a form of adjustment to the needs of lecturers and students when the Covid-19 pandemic is severe. Airlangga University's online learning system e-Learning Application (AULA) has tried to be maximized to face the current dynamics of change. This study aims to evaluate online learning in theoretical and practical classes. The evaluation is seen from the perceptions of students from the Vocational Faculty. This evaluation is used to analyze three main aspects of the use of AULA, namely delivery, interactive, and assessment in the implementation of theoretical and practicum courses. This evaluation research uses a quantitative approach with the main data collection being a questionnaire. In addition, in-depth interviews were also conducted to confirm the questionnaire. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the perceptions of students tend to be dissatisfied with the use of AULA in the practical class. Almost all sections in the interactive and assessment aspects have a fairly low score. The findings in this study indicate that the implementation of online practicum classes is still not able to accommodate students' interests related to the full mastery of skills from practicum classes. Although, the combination of vocational education and training with E-learning during a pandemic is considered the only logical choice. This is because learning objectives can only be achieved using this method compared to having to face to face during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Biologi merupakan mata pelajaran dengan sumber belajar yang berkaitan dengan semua makhluk hidup beserta interaksinya yang dekat sekali dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Potensi lokal dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar biologi yang menarik dan dekat dengan siswa. Materi biologi khususnya keanekaragaman jamur belum banyak dikaitkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga hanya terpaku pada buku teks. Memadukan materi biologi dengan potensi lokal berpotensi dapat meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jamur yang ada di Agrowisata Jejamuran Yogyakarta, sehingga Agrowisata Jejamuran dapat menjadi sumber belajar berbasis potensi lokal pada mata pelajaran biologi  Jenis penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian tahap 1 dilakukan survei awal, penentuan lokasi sampling, inventarisasi potensi lokal. Tahap 2 adalah analisis potensi keanekaragaman jamur sebagai sumber belajar biologi melalui studi literatur. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu memadukan antara hasil survei, wawancara, serta literatur terkait. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, potensi lokal jamur di Agrowisata Jejamuran terdapat 12 jenis jamur. Keanekaragaman jamur yang terdapat di Agrowisata Jejamuran dapat dijadikan sumber belajar mata pelajaran Biologi berbasis potensi lokal. Berdasarkan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Agrowisata Jejamuran dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar biologi berbasis potensi lokal pada materi jamur melalui fieldtrip, pembuatan media realia jamur, modul, maupun video.

Abstract

This article aims to (1) explain the implementation of characters education through dolanan anak (traditional games for children) and (2) analyze the character values contained in dolanan anak. Type of this writing is an qualitative-descriptive explorative writing with the characteristic is pure research, to develop scientific or theoretical disciplines. The data source is the form of various relevant documents that were collected through the library research technique and analyzed using the content analysis model. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that (1) Character education through dolanan anak can be carried out through various types of dolanan anak by internalizing the character values and (2) The values of character education in dolanan anak include honesty, responsibility, working together, discipline, creative, and hard working, where these values can be actualized in character education to create a culturally conscious generation.

Abstract

The development of information technology has resulted in negative impacts, one of which is hoax news that spreads quickly through social media. Students of SMK N 71 Jakarta use social media every day, both for online learning and personal purposes, such as communicating with family and friends. This situation makes students vulnerable to receiving hoax news. Therefore, this community service was carried out to provide students education in socialization and training. The implementation of the education was attended by class X students from the Department of Software Engineering, Visual Communication Design, and Animation, where each major was taken two, so the total number of students who took part in this activity was six classes or around 50 students. The results of this community service are that there has been socialization with material on the meaning of hoax news, the characteristics of hoax news, distinguishing between a hoax and non-hoax news, examples of hoax news found on social media, and the critical role of students in helping prevent the spread of hoax news. The presenters also conducted training through demonstrations on how students can recognize hoax news from the title and content of the news, how students can check the truth of a news story, and how students can report if they find news that is indicated as a hoax which is practiced directly by students. This service activity ends by giving assignments to students to monitor social media and report if there is news that is indicated as a hoax, then provide information to presenters and teachers. The results of these community service activities are that students gain comprehensive knowledge about hoax news; students can practice how to recognize hoax news so that students can distinguish between news that contains hoaxes and those that do not, and students can check the truth of news and can report if there is news that is indicated to contain hoaxes. Perkembangan teknologi informasi mengakibatkan munculnya dampak negatif, salah satunya yaitu adanya berita hoaks yang tersebar dengan mudah melalui sosial media. Siswa SMK N 71 Jakarta merupakan siswa yang setiap hari menggunakan sosial media, baik untuk keperluan pembelajaran daring maupun untuk keperluan pribadi, seperti untuk berkomunikasi dengan keluarga dan teman. Hal tersebut menjadikan siswa rawan untuk menerima berita hoaks. Maka dari itu dilakukanlah pengabdian masyarakat ini dengan tujuan untuk memberikan edukasi berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada siswa. Pelaksanaan edukasi diikuti oleh siswa kelas X dari jurusan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak, Desain Komunikasi Visual, dan Animasi, dimana masing-masing jurusan diambil dua, sehingga total siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ini adalah sebanyak enam kelas atau sekitar 50 siswa. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu telah dilakukan sosialisasi dengan materi pengertian berita hoaks, ciri-ciri berita hoaks, membedakan antara berita hoaks dan bukan hoaks, contoh-contoh berita hoaks yang ditemukan di media sosial, serta pentingnya peranan siswa dalam membantu mencegah oenyebaran berita hoaks. Pemateri juga melakukan pelatihan melalui demonstrasi tentang bagaimana siswa dapat mengenali berita hoaks dari judul maupun isi berita, bagaimana siswa dapat mengecek kebenaran suatu berita, serta bagaimana siswa dapat melakukan pelaporan jika menemukan berita yang terindikasi hoaks yang dipraktikkan secara langsung oleh siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diakhiri dengan memberikan tugas kepada siswa untuk memantau sosial media dan melaporkan jika terdapat berita yang terindikasi hoaks, kemudian memberikan informasi kepada pemateri maupun guru.

Abstract

Literasi sains merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk memecahkan berbagai permasalahan, tetapi literasi sains siswa masih rendah. Literasi sains siswa harus ditingkatkan, diantaranya dengan memperbaiki manajemen laboratorium dan perpustakaan yang menunjang proses literasi sains siswa. Hasil analisis situasi di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 4 Jakarta menunjukkan adanya manajemen perpustakaan dan laboratorium yang kurang memadai, sehingga literasi sains siswa juga masih rendah. Maka dari itu, dilakukan peningkatan manajemen laboratorium dan perpustakaan melalui pengabdian ini dengan tujuan agar mampu mengoptimalisasikan penggunaan laboratorium dan perpustakaan untuk mendukung terbentuknya literasi sains siswa. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahap utama, yaitu pra-pengabdian, pengabdian, dan pasca-pengabdian. Pra-pengabdian dilakukan dengan analisis situasi. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan yang diwujudkan dengan pelatihan manajemen laboratorium terpadu dan pelatihan optimalisasi perpustakaan. Setelah pelatihan, juga dilakukan pendampingan dengan cara membuat program-program yang mampu memicu tumbuhnya literasi sains siswa. Tahap pasca pengabdian dilakukan melalui monitoring dan evaluasi.

Abstract

Indonesia's development must be connected to the important role of village empowerment and disaster resilience. Efforts to increase village empowerment and resilience to disasters have been carried out previously, especially in villages in East Rembang. Even so, there has yet to be an evaluation to measure its success. This research aims to evaluate and map village empowerment and resilience using research instruments consisting of aspects, indicators, sub-indicators, and questions regarding disasters in East Rembang. The four main stages of research include instrument development, measurements of empowered and disaster-resilient villages that have been carried out, mapping of measurement results, and based on recommendations. The data collection technique used is a document study with the data collection instrument, namely a document study sheet containing a scale for measuring village empowerment and disaster resilience. The village empowerment scale was developed based on geographic, government, population, social, agricultural, economic, and housing aspects. In contrast, the disaster-resilient village scale consists of six aspects that reflect the value of security from disasters, facilities, and mitigation efforts. This research shows seven categories of villages that are empowered and resilient to disasters. The three villages with the highest level of empowerment are Sluke, Sendangmulyo, and Kragan Villages in Sluke, Sarang, and Kragan Districts, respectively. Meanwhile, the three villages with the highest disaster resilience are Sanetan, Bendo and Langgar Villages, Sluke District.
