Abstract

Chronic diseases are degenerative conditions that significantly impact an individual's quality of life. Various degenerative diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart stroke, require immediate attention. Indonesia faces a dual burden in healthcare, grappling with both rampant infectious diseases and the rising prevalence of chronic degenerative illnesses. Therefore, health promotion efforts are crucial in preventing degenerative diseases among adolescents. This initiative targets teenagers due to their unhealthy lifestyle choices, which are evident in their smoking habits, poor dietary practices, insufficient consumption of fruits and vegetables, and a lack of physical activity. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance awareness regarding the prevention of degenerative diseases among youth and to address the emergence of such conditions in this age group. The results of the community service activities indicate a notable increase in average knowledge from 6.61 to 13.80 and an improvement in attitudes from 9.61 to 14.47. The community service activities were successfully executed, as evidenced by the smooth conduct of the events and the active participation of the adolescents. To improve health quality, it is essential to foster awareness and enhance education among teenagers about the prevention of degenerative diseases.

Abstract

Asset management at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bengkulu Province is still carried out manually, leading to various issues such as inaccurate records, data duplication, and difficulties in asset tracking and maintenance. These challenges hinder operational efficiency and increase the risk of asset loss or damage due to inadequate monitoring. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a web-based asset management system to enhance record accuracy, management efficiency, and transparency in asset utilization. The development method used is the Waterfall model, which consists of several stages, including needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system design is supported by the use of Flowcharts to illustrate workflow processes, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD) to visualize data flow within the system, and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) to design the database structure. The implementation of this system is expected to optimize asset management, reduce recording errors, and facilitate real-time asset monitoring and maintenance.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the self-confidence of young children at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Ahsan in Jambi City through the application of role-playing methods. Based on initial observations conducted on January 15-19, 2024, it was found that aspects of self-confidence development, including self-belief, Tidak mudah putus asam, objectivity, responsibility, and rationality, were still underdeveloped. Among the 12 children observed, all showed a lack of self-confidence (100%), 10 children were less Tidak mudah putus asatic (80%), only 5 children demonstrated objectivity and responsibility (40% each), and 7 children displayed rational and realistic thinking (60%). This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model with a cycle-based approach involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results indicated that implementing the role-playing method effectively increased the children’s self-confidence. Throughout Cycles I and II, there was a noticeable increase in the number of children categorized as "Developing Well" and "Developing Very Well." By the second session of Cycle II, 75% of the children demonstrated positive developments in self-confidence aspects. These findings suggest that the role-playing method is not only effective in boosting self-confidence but also supports social and emotional growth in young children, positively impacting the quality of education at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Ahsan in Jambi City.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in increasing the motivation to learn to read and write the Qur'an (BTA) at TPQ Babul Khair Abepura and analyze its impact on the children's abilities. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving teachers/ustadz, parents, and students as data sources. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, with its validity tested through source triangulation. The results show that the role of parents is crucial in enhancing children's learning motivation, both as educators, motivators, facilitators, and role models. Active parental involvement has proven to improve discipline, enthusiasm for learning, and children's achievements in reading and writing the Qur'an. On the other hand, a lack of parental involvement negatively affects children's motivation and abilities. The motivation provided by parents helps in the smooth reading of the Qur'an, understanding tajwid, and writing hijaiyah letters. In conclusion, the success of BTA learning is not only dependent on the process at TPQ but is also influenced by parental involvement at home. The synergy between the family and educational institutions is crucial in improving the quality of Qur'an learning and shaping a morally upright generation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the role of the school environment in influencing the learning motivation of class X students in Muhammadiyah Maumere High School. The school environment is an external factor that plays an important role in supporting or inhibiting the learning process of students. The factors studied in this study include the physical condition of the school (such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and sports facilities), social aspects (support of teachers and peers), as well as psychological aspects (comfort, appreciation, and conducive learning atmosphere). The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and questionnaires to students and teachers. The result of the study shows that school facilities in Muhammadiyah Maumere High School still have many limitations, including inadequate classrooms, lack of learning technology tools such as projectors, small libraries with limited collection of books, and the unavailability of special space for arts and special sport facilities. However, despite these limitations, most students still show a high level of learning motivation. This is influenced by the support of teachers and peers, involvement in extracurricular activities, family support, and personal expectations of student achievement. This study concluded that the school environment indeed plays an important role in shaping student learning motivation, but social and psychological factors also have a big influence. Therefore, it is recommended that schools make improvements and develop physical facilities and strengthen positive social climate to support the student learning process optimally.

Abstract

This community service article reports the implementation of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) by Group 16 of Universitas Cenderawasih in Puay Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, focusing on strengthening the governance of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Bhuhi Wahi. The program aimed to compile village and BUMDes profile data, provide governance assistance, and educate the community about the concept and management of BUMDes. The methods included participatory observation, in-depth interviews with village officials and BUMDes administrators, cost structure analysis, and community outreach. The results showed that of the three planned business units, namely a refill drinking water depot, fisheries, and agriculture, only the water depot was active. This unit still faced a gap between its formal organizational structure and daily management practices. Estimates of the Cost of Goods Manufactured and break-even point indicated that the business unit had not consistently reached the break-even point at low to moderate production volumes. The outreach activities improved the understanding of village officials, customary leaders, and women's groups regarding BUMDes governance. The outputs included a customary structure chart, village map, and information banner for the water depot. The program recommends systematic bookkeeping, alignment between formal structures and management practices, and continuous assistance to support the financial sustainability of the business unit.
