Abstract

I-News TV has started to include entertainment and talkshows in its programs, one of which is the Hotman Paris Show. The Hotman Paris Show program continues to be broadcast on television in several episodes which are controversial or prohibited. The impact of the figure of Hotman Paris is reflected in the motivation that creates perceptions among Law Faculty students. One of the things that went viral was the perception of new students at the University of North Sumatra, Medan, because they saw the Hotman Paris Show program as one of the reasons for entering the Faculty of Law. This study aims to find out the perceptions of students of the Faculty of Law, University of Mulawarman towards the "Hotman Paris Show" talk show program on iNews TV. The phenomenon of I-News TV which incorporates entertainment and talkshows into its program range, one of which is Hotman Paris Show I-News Tv, which originally presented news and sports programs. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method of gathering information through observation, interviews, documentation and internet searching/document research. Sources of information using purposive sampling are informants who are directly related to research, namely students of the Faculty of Law, University of Mulawarman who have participated in public speaking. The results of the study show that perceptions of the "Hotman Paris Show" Talk Show Program on iNews TV are quite diverse, the selection perception that the Hotman Paris Show program has appeal because the hosts are lawyers. the perception of the organization where the informant felt that the "Hotman Paris Show" program was considered to be lacking in discussing and studying legal issues. Perception of interpretation where informants can judge that the "Hotman Paris Show" Talk Show Program still needs to be reviewed for the concept of the program which is addressed to whom the program is targeted at. The results of the study are in accordance with Lasswell's definition that communication delivered to the communicant from the communicator through certain channels either directly/indirectly aims to have an impact/effect on the communicant according to what the communicator wants. The indicators of student perceptions in this study are perceptions of selection, perceptions of organization and perceptions of interpretation.

Abstract

The development of the civilization of the times, the increase in technology and the internet in the world of life has also expanded by showing its existence not only in the real world but also in the virtual world. This has led to various efforts made as a form of channeling people's existence in actualizing themselves on various platforms on social media, one of which is Instagram. Social media users are then managed with different purposes so that a phenomenon that still occurs today is Finstagram or the management of two Instagram accounts by a user with the aim of managing the image and impression on the general public on the main account, and showing freedom of expression without being burdened by the image on the second accountbased on the concept of dramathurgy theory. The purpose of this research is to find out the motivation and factors of finstagram so that it can be a channel for freedom of expression. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques carried out by distributing questionnaires and interviews to be analyzed using cyber media analysis techniques with micro and macro levels based on virtual ethnographic analysis studies. The results of the study found that informants in utilizing the finstagram phenomenon to maintain the image and impression they manage but still channel their free expression without being burdened by the image they manage on the main account by managing two accounts with significant goals, and based on the experience of researchers as ethnographers, finstagram has functionality, namely interpretation, linkage, transmission of value, entertainment, information, and manipulate to persuade. They are with efforts and efforts to maintain their existence through various ways in the real world and the virtual world.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh konteks organisasi, yang mencakup dukungan manajemen puncak dan orientasi kewirausahaan, terhadap adopsi media sosial serta dampaknya terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada biro perjalanan wisata di Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) berbasis Partial Least Square (PLS). Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 33 pemilik atau pengelola biro perjalanan wisata yang dipilih melalui teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan manajemen puncak tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap adopsi media sosial. Sebaliknya, orientasi kewirausahaan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap adopsi media sosial. Selain itu, adopsi media sosial terbukti memberikan pengaruh yang sangat kuat dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja perusahaan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya orientasi kewirausahaan dalam mendorong transformasi digital serta menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial secara strategis dapat meningkatkan daya saing dan performa bisnis, khususnya di sektor pariwisata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis bagaimana akomodasi komunikasi dalam kegiatan Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka 3 bagi outbounders Universitas Mulawarman. Adapun metode penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat akomodasi komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh outbounders Universitas Mulawarman dalam melakukan penyesuaian diri ketika mengikuti kegiatan Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka 3. Melalui penerapan Teori Akomodasi Komunikasi, konvergensi, divergensi, dan akomodasi berlebihan menjadi bagian integral dari dinamika komunikasi dalam kegiatan pertukaran ini. Komunikasi multikultural yang berlangsung selama kegiatan Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka 3 memungkinkan mahasiswa nya untuk saling memahami perbedaan kebudayaan baik antar mahasiswa dan masyarakat setempat dalam proses penyesuaian komunikasi dan menghargai kehadiran perbedaan budaya. Akomodasi komunikasi dalam kegiatan ini menjadi sangat penting untuk menyesuaikan komunikasi dengan lawan bicara yang berbeda budaya. Melalui penyesuaian, komunikasi dapat berlangsung dengan efektif memungkinan antar pelaku komunikasi untuk meninggalkan konflik kebudayan. Penyesuain komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa sebagai bentuk menghargai latar belakang kebudayaan lawan bicara.   This study aims to describe and analyze how communication accommodation takes place among Universitas Mulawarman outbounders during the Merdeka Student Exchange 3 program. A qualitative descriptive research method was employed. The findings reveal that Universitas Mulawarman outbounders engaged in communication accommodation to adapt to the new cultural environment during the Merdeka Student Exchange 3 program. By applying the Communication Accommodation Theory, convergence, divergence, and over-accommodation emerged as integral parts of the communication dynamics within this exchange program. The multicultural communication that took place during the Merdeka Student Exchange 3 enabled students to mutually understand cultural differences both among themselves and with local communities, facilitating communication adaptation and fostering appreciation for cultural diversity. Communication accommodation plays a crucial role in this program, fostering effective intercultural communication. By adjusting their communication styles, participants demonstrate respect for cultural diversity and reduce the likelihood of cultural misunderstandings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis resepsi anggota Komunitas Kejar Mimpi Samarinda terhadap pesan meritokrasi dalam konten TikTok Vina Muliana. Fokus penelitian terletak pada bagaimana audiens memaknai narasi keberhasilan yang berbasis kerja keras di tengah realitas sosial yang beragam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis resepsi model encoding-decoding Stuart Hall. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan yang terdiri dari anggota aktif dan alumni komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pemetaan posisi resepsi yang dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang pengalaman hidup dan pencapaian profesional informan. Informan pada posisi dominant-hegemonic cenderung berasal dari kalangan alumni yang telah merasakan manfaat sistem meritokrasi dalam karier mereka, bahkan mengimplementasikan pesan tersebut dengan menjadi motivator internal di komunitas. Sebaliknya, informan pada posisi negotiated menerima nilai kerja keras namun memberikan catatan kritis terhadap adanya perbedaan garis start sosial, ekonomi, dan geografis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun pesan Vina Muliana diterima sebagai motivasi yang efektif bagi komunitas pengembangan diri, audiens tetap memiliki kesadaran kritis terhadap bias kelas dan hambatan sistemik yang tidak tertampilkan dalam konten video pendek.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has transformed the global educational landscape; however, its implementation in Public Special Schools remains limited due to low digital competence and technological access gaps. This condition contributes to the continued dominance of conventional, teacher-centered instruction that lacks adaptability to diverse student needs. This community service research aimed to enhance teachers’ competence in utilizing GenAI as an adaptive medium to optimize interactive learning. The program was conducted through a two-day workshop at SLBN Pembina, East Kalimantan Province, involving 46 teachers from elementary, junior high, and senior high special education levels. The activities included the development of two instructional modules (“Smarter Teaching with ChatGPT” and “Creative Teaching with Canva”), pre- and post-tests, hands-on practice, individual assignments, and post-activity monitoring. The findings revealed a 28.20% increase in teachers’ understanding during the ChatGPT session and a 48.96% improvement during the Canva session. Classroom monitoring further indicated enhanced student engagement and enthusiasm when AI-based materials were implemented. The implications highlight that structured and contextual training can effectively bridge the digital divide in special education settings, strengthen teacher self-efficacy, and promote more personalized, interactive, and inclusive AI-enhanced learning practicesPerkembangan pesat Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) telah mentransformasi lanskap pendidikan global, namun implementasinya di Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri (SLBN) masih terbatas akibat rendahnya kompetensi digital dan kesenjangan akses teknologi. Kondisi ini berdampak pada masih dominannya metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang adaptif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan GenAI sebagai media adaptif guna mengoptimalkan interactive learning. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui pendekatan pelatihan berbasis workshop selama dua hari di SLBN Pembina Provinsi Kalimantan Timur dengan melibatkan 46 guru dari jenjang SDLB, SMPLB, dan SMALB. Kegiatan meliputi penyusunan dua modul (“Mengajar Lebih Cerdas dengan ChatGPT” dan “Kreatif Mengajar dengan Canva”), pre-test dan post-test, praktik langsung, penugasan individu, serta monitoring pascakegiatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru sebesar 28,20% pada sesi ChatGPT dan 48,96% pada sesi Canva. Monitoring lapangan juga menunjukkan meningkatnya keterlibatan dan antusiasme siswa saat materi berbasis AI diterapkan di kelas. Implikasi kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa pelatihan terstruktur dan kontekstual mampu menjembatani kesenjangan digital di sekolah khusus, memperkuat kepercayaan diri guru, serta mendorong implementasi pembelajaran yang lebih personal, interaktif, dan inklusif berbasis teknologi AI.
