Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) learning is considered as learning that can improve children's creative thinking. STEAM can be defined as a learning program design aimed at developing the ability to think critically, analytically, creatively and as a whole in studying a learning topic by children. This study aims to develop children's creativity by applying STEAM learning. This study uses Quantitative Research Experiment Design One Group Pre-test Post-test in which the pre-test is carried out at the beginning then continued with treatment 3 times and then ends with the final step, namely the post-test which has its own activities. The application of STEAM Learning is proven to be able to develop children's creativity with the results of SPSS significant value (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 with statistically tested data the result is t count> t picture, then Ho "rejected" and Ha "accepted". The hypothesis in this study means that there is a significant difference between the creativity of children aged 5-6 years before / after STEAM learning is applied to class B children totaling 21 children at UMP Model Lab Kindergarten, South Pontianak.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the pre-writing abilities of children who are still incapable. The resulting lines are less firm and thick, and the child's scribbles do not resemble the expected letters. Kinetic sand is one material that can be used to stimulate prewriting. This research aims to improve fine motor skills using kinetic sand as a medium. This research uses a quantitative experimental research methodology. Data collection techniques and tools used are observation, checklist, and documentation. The subjects in this research were class A children aged 4-5 years. The data analysis used was the Paired Sample T-test. The results from Pretest averaged 4.5%, while the Posttest results after being given treatment 1-3 with an average of 9%. It is known that on the Pretest and Posttest data, a t-test was carried out using the SPSS 25 with a t value of 9.00, while the t-table (df=5, significance level 5%) was 2.015. Thus the calculated t value > t table (9,000 > 2,015). It is known that the sig(2-tailed) value is 0.00<0.05, so we can conclude that there is a real difference between kinetic sand media and children's prewriting ability.

Abstract

This research is based on children's difficulty concentrating in learning. This research aims to determine the effect of learning concentration on children aged 5-6 years by using the storytelling method through picture story books. The implementation of the learning method used using the storytelling method without using interesting and varied media, makes students less interested and enthusiastic in learning activities. This causes researchers to be interested in providing storytelling methods through picture story books to help develop children's learning concentration. This research uses a quantitative experimental method with a Pre-Exspremental Design (non-design) design. Sampling used scoring techniques on pre-test and post-test checklist sheets, the research sample consisted of class B4 with a total of 17 children. Data collection techniques using observation sheets, interviews and documentation. This research uses data analysis techniques, normalization and hypothesis testing, t test (real level) using SPSS version 25. The results of data analysis and hypothesis testing that have been carried out can be seen from the sig value (2-tailed) = 0.000 while 0.05 (0.00 <0.05) then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected with a comparison of the average pre-test 5, and post-test 8.23. It can be concluded that the learning concentration of class B4 children has a significant influence on the storytelling method through picture story books on children's learning concentration at the Pembina South Pontianak State Kindergarten.

Abstract

In general, students have a high curiosity about the knowledge that has been given by the teacher in a learning process, but only some students dare or are able to express their opinions in asking questions or giving responses. This study aims to plan, implement and describe the evaluation of the learning outcomes of the demonstration method of the ability to express opinions at SDN 27 Sungai Raya Kubu Raya. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study on the ability to express opinions in Cycle 1 showed that 79.16% of children were in the category of Not Yet Brave (BB) and 50% of children were Starting to Brave (SSB). In Cycle II, 58.33% were in the category of Not Yet Brave (BB), and 89.67% were in the category of Already Brave (SSB). In Cycle III, the remaining 16.6% were in the category of Not Yet Brave (BB), and 125% were Starting to Brave (SSB). Based on the results of this study, there was an increase in the level of Already Brave (SMB) according to the achievement indicators, but the level of Already Very Brave (SSB) had not yet increased. This is likely due to insufficient time and the unavailability of facilities and infrastructure that can support the learning activities to take place properly.

Abstract

Spotify for Podcasters has emerged as a popular platform for podcast creation. However, its application in early childhood learning requires further exploration. This research aims to analyze the potential and challenges of using the Spotify for Podcasters application as a media storytelling tool in early childhood education. The research employs a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The study involves students from the Early Childhood Education program enrolled in the Language Development and Storytelling Skills course. Qualitative data collection methods include observation and interviews, while quantitative data are obtained through structured surveys to assess students' perceptions of the application's usage. Results indicate that using Spotify for Podcasters significantly enhances students' storytelling abilities. It helps sharpen skills such as clear pronunciation, appropriate intonation, and word choice. Moreover, the application enables the creation of interactive and engaging stories for a young audience. However, the study also identifies challenges. Students initially faced technical difficulties using the application, including bugs and limitations in accessing Spotify accounts. Storage capacity limitations within the app posed challenges in managing podcast content. The implications suggest that Spotify for Podcasters can improve students' storytelling skills and facilitate more engaging early childhood learning. However, initial training and strategic thinking are necessary to address emerging constraints. This research provides valuable insights into the potential and challenges of utilizing podcasting technology in early childhood education, laying the groundwork for further developments in this field.

Abstract

Kosakata merupakan aspek yang penting untuk dikembangkan kepada anak, melalui kosakata anak dapat berkomunikasi, mengutarakan ide dan pendapatnya, Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk untuk mendukung pemerolehan kosakata pada anak salah satunya yaitu dengan memanfaatkan media atau alat untuk  menstimulasikan anak, dalam hal ini peneliti memanfaatkan media yaitu media Pop Up Book untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh media Pop Up Book terhadap kosakata anak usia 5-6 tahun, pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Design One Group Pretest-Posttes, sample yang digunakan yaitu berjumlah 6 orang anak, pengelolaan data menggunakan Analisis Deskriptif, Uji Normalitas Data, dan Uji Paired Sample T-Test, berdasarkan hasil Uji Paired Sample T-Test menggunakan SPSS IBM 22 dan didapatkan hasil t hitung 9.032 sedangkan t tabel yaitu 2.01505 pada taraf α=0,05 dengan demikian t hitung < t tabel diketahui nilai signifikan yaitu 0,000<0,05 maka kesimpulanya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan menggunakan media Pop Up Book terhadap kosakata.

Abstract

Latar belakang pengamatan di PAUD (Kb & Tk) Lab Model Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan bercerita anak belum berkembang dengan optimal, sehingga keterampilan bercerita anak masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan bercerita anak melalui media loose parts pada anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus, dan setiap siklus terdapat tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa: Anak percaya diri saat bercerita dari 83,3% menjadi 88,89%, anak dapat berbicara dengan lancar dari 33,3% menjadi 72,2%, anak dapat menyusun kalimat sederhana saat bercerita dari 27,78% menjadi 61,1%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan bercerita dapat ditingkatkan melalui media loose parts pada anak.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fenomena alam pada anak usia dini masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, terutama dalam penyampaian konsep yang bersifat abstrak dan sulit divisualisasikan menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya pemahaman konseptual anak serta terbatasnya keterlibatan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality menggunakan AssemblrEDU untuk membantu anak usia dini memahami fenomena alam secara konkret dan interaktif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development dengan model Analysis, Design, dan Development. Subjek penelitian melibatkan guru dan peserta didik Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Terpadu Al-Karima Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket validasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, serta angket penilaian kelayakan media oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menghitung persentase kelayakan media dan secara kualitatif melalui analisis deskriptif terhadap masukan dan saran validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memperoleh tingkat kelayakan sebesar 85% dari ahli materi dan 86% dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat layak. Media dinilai mampu memvisualisasikan fenomena alam secara jelas, menarik, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini. Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality menggunakan AssemblrEDU layak digunakan sebagai inovasi pembelajaran sains anak usia dini dan berpotensi mendukung peningkatan pemahaman konsep fenomena alam secara bermakna.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of the teacher’s role in stimulating the cognitive development of early childhood, especially children aged 5–6 years. Cognitive development is the ability to think, understand, solve problems, and develop knowledge that needs to be optimally stimulated from an early age. Teachers have an important role as educators, mentors, and evaluators in supporting children’s cognitive development in the school environment. This study aims to describe the role of teachers as educators, mentors, and evaluators in stimulating the cognitive development of children aged 5–6 years at TK Idhata Pontianak. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study consisted of the principal, teachers, and students at TK Idhata Pontianak. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that teachers actively played a role in stimulating children’s cognitive development through interesting learning activities, the use of varied learning media, providing guidance to children, and conducting periodic evaluations of children’s development. Teachers also implemented the Merdeka Curriculum, which is child-centered, enabling children to think critically, express their opinions confidently, and actively participate in the learning process. Therefore, the role of teachers is very important in supporting the optimal cognitive development of early childhood.

Abstract

Early reading ability is an important aspect of language development that needs to be stimulated from an early age. However, some children aged 4–5 years still experience difficulties in recognizing letters, pronouncing letter sounds, and reading simple words. One effort to improve children’s early reading ability is through the use of engaging learning media, such as digital flashcards. This study aims to determine the effect of using digital flashcard media on the early reading ability of children aged 4–5 years at TK Idhata. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pre-experimental one group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of this study were 15 children aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through early reading ability tests administered before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and the N-Gain test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 7.93 to 14.00. The Wilcoxon test result indicated a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), showing a significant effect. The N-Gain score of 0.78 was categorized as high. Therefore, the use of digital flashcards is effective in improving children’s early reading ability. Keywords: digital flashcards, early reading ability, children aged 4–5 years Kemampuan membaca awal merupakan salah satu aspek perkembangan bahasa yang penting untuk distimulasi sejak usia dini. Namun, masih ditemukan anak usia 4–5 tahun yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenal huruf, mengucapkan bunyi huruf, serta membaca kata sederhana. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal anak adalah melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik, seperti media flashcard digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media flashcard digital terhadap kemampuan membaca awal anak usia 4–5 tahun di TK Idhata.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest–posttest design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 15 anak usia 4–5 tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan membaca awal yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, dan uji N-Gain.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 7,93 menjadi 14,00. Uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (<0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,78 termasuk kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, media flashcard digital efektif meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal anak. Kata kunci: media flashcard digital, kemampuan membaca awal, anak usia 4–5 tahun.
