Abstract

Elementary school students' reading comprehension skills are still relatively low, partly due to the limited variety of teaching methods used and the suboptimal integration of local content as learning media. This condition highlights the need for instructional strategies that can enhance student engagement and provide more meaningful understanding. This study aims to analyze the effect of the PQ4R learning method supported by Balinese folklore texts on the reading comprehension abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students. A quasi-experimental method was used to measure the effectiveness of the PQ4R learning model on reading comprehension skills. The sample consisted of 36 fourth-grade students. Based on the results obtained through a t-test using the SPSS program, a significance value (Sig) of 0.000 was obtained, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, indicating that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on reading comprehension ability between the group taught using the PQ4R method assisted by Balinese folklore texts and the group taught using conventional instruction. The implication of this research suggests that integrating the PQ4R method with Balinese folklore texts can serve as an effective alternative teaching strategy to improve students' reading comprehension while also supporting the preservation of local cultural values in the learning process.

Abstract

Abtract: This study examines Sad Sasana leadership and elementary school teachers' job motivation in Buleleng Regency. Teachers are vital to education, yet low-quality teaching, educational frameworks, and pedagogical practices continue to hinder them. Teachers are crucial to knowledge acquisition and educational progress. Student performance is highly tied to teacher quality. Thus, teachers must have competences matched with national education standards to perform their duties with excellence, resulting in knowledgeable and skilled students. These findings illuminate numerous key characteristics that affect primary teacher performance. In Buleleng Regency, Sad Sasana leadership (X1) directly affects elementary school teachers (Y). The influence of Sad Sasana leadership on teacher performance was 0.806, or 80.6%. Work motivation (X2) significantly affects elementary school teachers' (Y) performance in Buleleng Regency. Work motivation affected teacher performance by 0.583, or 58.3% of the variance.Keywords: Sad Sasana Leadership, Work Motivation, Teacher Performance, Elementary SchoolAbstrak: Studi ini meneliti kepemimpinan Sad Sasana dan motivasi kerja guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Buleleng. Guru sangat penting bagi pendidikan, namun pengajaran berkualitas rendah, kerangka kerja pendidikan, dan praktik pedagogis terus menghambat mereka. Guru sangat penting untuk perolehan pengetahuan dan kemajuan pendidikan. Kinerja siswa sangat terkait dengan kualitas guru. Dengan demikian, guru harus memiliki kompetensi yang sesuai dengan standar pendidikan nasional untuk melaksanakan tugasnya dengan sangat baik, sehingga menghasilkan siswa yang berpengetahuan dan terampil. Temuan ini menjelaskan berbagai karakteristik kunci yang memengaruhi kinerja guru sekolah dasar. Di Kabupaten Buleleng, kepemimpinan Sad Sasana (X1) secara langsung memengaruhi guru sekolah dasar (Y). Pengaruh kepemimpinan Sad Sasana terhadap kinerja guru adalah 0,806, atau 80,6%. Motivasi kerja (X2) secara signifikan memengaruhi kinerja guru sekolah dasar (Y) di Kabupaten Buleleng. Motivasi kerja memengaruhi kinerja guru sebesar 0,583, atau 58,3% dari varians.Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan Sad Sasana, Motivasi Kerja, Kinerja Guru, Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Kompetensi guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam menentukan kualitas proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Namun demikian, hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian guru sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Sawan masih mengalami kesulitan dalam merancang perangkat pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pembelajaran bermakna dan pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Perangkat pembelajaran yang disusun umumnya masih berfokus pada penyampaian materi dan belum sepenuhnya mengintegrasikan pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam (deep learning). Oleh karena itu, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan deep learning yang selaras dengan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Mitra kegiatan adalah guru-guru sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Sawan yang berasal dari 45 sekolah dasar. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2025 di SD No. 4 Sangsit, Kecamatan Sawan, Kabupaten Buleleng, Provinsi Bali. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif melalui beberapa tahapan kegiatan, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop, diskusi interaktif, praktik penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, serta pendampingan dalam merumuskan tujuan pembelajaran, mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran kontekstual, dan menyusun asesmen autentik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang perangkat pembelajaran yang lebih sistematis, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada pemahaman mendalam siswa. Selain itu, respon peserta terhadap kegiatan sangat positif yang ditunjukkan melalui tingginya tingkat partisipasi, kepuasan, serta meningkatnya motivasi guru untuk menerapkan pembelajaran mendalam di kelas. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam mendukung peningkatan kompetensi profesional guru sekaligus berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Management is a process carried out to achieve an organization's goals by working in teams and an application of management has a subject and an object. Education is a learning effort and learning process for students to actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves and society. Educators and education personnel in the educational process play a strategic role, especially in efforts to shape the character of the nation through the development of the desired personality and values. Viewed from the educational dimension, the role of educators in Indonesian society remains dominant even though the technology that can be utilized in the learning process is developing very quickly. Likewise, their education staff is tasked with carrying out administration, management, development, supervision and technical services to support the educational process in educational units.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of implementing SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning with interactive Powerpoint as a catalyst for motivation in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in Elementary Schools. The method used is a literature review, which includes collecting, filtering, abstracting, and analyzing and synthesizing findings from previous studies and expert opinions. The results of the study indicate that the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) model is able to activate students' multisensory engagement through body movement, hearing, visualization, and critical thinking processes, while interactive Powerpoint strengthens visual and auditory aspects and stimulates intellectual through animation features, relevant videos, and interactive quizzes. The integration of these two approaches consistently increases motivation, active participation, understanding of abstract concepts, and student learning outcomes. The conclusion of the study confirms that the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model with interactive Powerpoint is an innovative and effective approach that can be used as a reference for teachers in creating interesting and meaningful Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning.
