<![CDATA[This research explored the use of the ICARE Model to studying the writing ability at the Senior high school in Parepare. ICARE includes five essential elements of a good learning experience, can be applied to children, teenagers, and parents, namely Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection, and Extension. This research involved a population from Senior high school in Parepare in the academic year 2015/2016. The students consist of two classes, an experimental class, and a control class. Each class consists of 36 students. This research utilized a cluster random sampling technique to select the sample. The instrument used in this research is the writing test. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The research reveals that there was a significant increase in students writing ability. This finding indicates that the mean score of the post-test of the experimental group is getting much better than the control class. It meant that using ICARE developed the students' ability in writing, and the writing component increased the highest is in the vocabulary aspect.]]>

<![CDATA[This research studies the impact of the implementation of the Jigsaw technique with a musical background to comprehend reading at Senior high school in Sidrap, Indonesia. This research uses a quasi-experimental method to answer the question, "is the use of Jigsaw with a musical background as a technique able to improve the reading comprehension of senior high students at senior high school? This research also uses a random sampling technique to select the sample in the experimental and control class. The data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The result of the calculation of students' scores from the post-test indicates that there is a significant improvement in students' comprehension achievement before and after learning reading by using the Jigsaw technique with background music. The result of this research finally shows that the use of the Jigsaw technique with background music improves the reading comprehension of the eleventh-grade students of senior high school in Sidrap, Indonesia. It is proved by the students' comprehension in the reading text that was 42.3 in their pre-test, but increasing in the post-test by mean score was 63.35. It means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted, which the t-test value is more significant than the t-table value. In the post-test, the t-test value is 11.92, while the t-table value is 2.042. Based on the result of data analysis, the writer concludes that using the Jigsaw technique with background music is useful to improve the reading comprehension of the student in reading text.]]>

<![CDATA[Technology has produced prominent contribution on education in this information age, it is well known as Edu technology. The researcher tries to introduce an alternative media, namely podcasts. Podcast is one of interactive media applied to support learning process in the classroom in developing listening and speaking skills. A descriptive quantitative method was conducted by the researcher in this study. The population was the XI Grade of SMK 4 Sidrap. Due to this semester only consisted one intact class (20 students), the researcher used the cluster sampling method in deciding the research sample. The instruments that were used in collecting the data Liker’s scale questionnaire. The result of the data found was analysed by using SPSS Application. The students stated interested in learning speaking toward podcast. It was proved by the mean score of students’ interests was 55.40 and considered as moderately interested.]]>

The Researcher Used Lingbe as The Students’ Interest Driven In Brainstorming Speaking Class. The Researcher Involves Technology in Interactive Learning. <![CDATA[ The objective of this research was to analyze the students’ perception on using Zoom as blanded learning platform from home during the pandemic of Covid-19.This research used descriptive qualitative. Creswell (2013) noted that descriptive qualitative was about understanding and perspective. The subject of this research were 22 learners (IXa) of MTsN 3 Enrekang. This research applied two kinds of instruments were observation and interview guidance.It found that setting up, getting going, managing activity, winding down, and assessing the students was applied in teaching and learning English. Furthermore, the students’ perception were 1) the zoom application made easire, fun, help the learners in learning English. It proved that there were 17 learners of 22 learners gave positive response about zoom appliacation, 2) the zoom application influenced the learning process in school. It proved that there were 22 learners agreed it, 3) the zoom application influenced enough the English skill of learners. It proved that all learners said yes, and 4) the zoom application made easy to use in learning English. It proved that that 19 learners agreed it.]]>

<![CDATA[In the era of technology-based education, it is crucial to understand the effectiveness of interactive media in enhancing students' comprehension of specific text types. This study aims to examine the practice of interactive media to student learning outcomes at SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar regarding Procedure texts. The subjects in this study are 20 students of IX B1 Class. This study used pre-experimental/one-shot case study research to compare learning outcomes. The data collection method is the academic performance outcomes of the students and field notes analyzed quantitatively. The findings showed significant differences in student understanding when receiving instruction with interactive multimedia then before. Students after taught using interactive multimedia show a higher level of understanding of the Procedural Text. Therefore, the use of interactive multimedia in the teaching of Procedure Texts is highly recommended as it significantly improves students' understanding and is well received by students. Although the integration of interactive multimedia in the classroom is increasing, there is still a gap in understanding its specific impact on student learning outcomes for Procedural Texts.]]>

<![CDATA[English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is one of the key courses in several faculties at the Muhammadiyah University of Parepare. Looking at the importance of ESP itself, it is a collection of data related to student interest in non-formal majors in the Faculty of Education and Sciences. The study used quantitative descriptive designs to analyze students' needs in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses. The study involved eight non-formal education students from semester one to semester six. Using the questionnaire as the main instrument, the study was able to collect relevant data from the students. According to the data from the questionnaires that have been disseminated, students can enhance their English language skills by learning English for Specific Purposes, and there are some opinions among students that in ESP teaching, the use of Indonesian as an introductory language has a considerable influence on their understanding of the language. Comprehensive analysis that uses TSA (target situation analysis), LSA (learning situation analysis), and PSA (present situation analysis) is a diagnostic process to assess the current condition, learning environment, and future needs of an organization or group to inform strategic planning and decision-making. The results of data analysis will provide valuable insights to develop a more effective curriculum and teaching methods that fit the needs of students at Muhammadiyah University of Parepare, and the results of learning English for Specific Purposes will have a lot of influence on the survival of the English language skills of students for application in their scientific field.]]>

<![CDATA[English language achievement encompasses proficiency in the English language, reflecting a person's ability to effectively comprehend, communicate, read, and write in English. The Index Card Method is a cooperative learning strategy that promotes active participation and collaboration in the classroom, encourages students to engage in active learning and develop their creativity. The aims of this research was to find out whether or not Index Card Match Method of cooperative learning can significantly increase students’ English achievement to the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Wonomulyo. The method used in this research is quantitative research using pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The procedure of collecting data involved administrating pre-test before treatment and post-test after treatment. The population of this research was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Wonomulyo academic year 2023/2024. The sample was taken by using cluster sample technique, where the researcher chose one class consisted 18 students. The result of this research showed that the mean score of students’ English achievement before taught by Index Card Match method was 38.89, while after doing the treatment, the mean score was 64.00. To find out the difference between pre-test and post-test, the researcher applied t-test. The value of t-test was 14.726 greater than the value of t-table 2.110 at the level of significance 0.05 and the degree of freedom was 17. The conclusion of this research is the Index Card Match method of cooperative learning can significantly increase the students’ English achievement.]]>

<![CDATA[This research-based on the students’ problem regarding English teaching especially speaking. It was caused by the teaching media applied in the classroom, where the students not interested to study. This problem was also caused by several factors such as the students in the classroom were bored and not motivated in teaching taught by using media. Consequently, the students’ speaking ability was low. Therefore, the objectives of the research are To find out whether or not the use of YouTube-based video via Zoom able to make students interesting to start speaking at eighth-grade students of UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Parepare. And how it can give progress to students speaking ability. The researcher applied a pre-experimental design (quantitative descriptive one tail), with two groups of pretest and posttest design. The researcher carries out the material by using YouTube-based video Via Zoom. The population of this research was the eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Parepare academic year 2020/2021. The sample of the research was taken by using cluster random sampling which consisted of 22 students from one class taken from the population of the eighth-grade student of UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Parepare, VIII.1. The result of the data analysis showed that the students speaking ability were improved, showed by the mean score of the pretest was (53,77). Besides that the mean score of the posttest was (72,54). It showed that the speaking ability of the eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Parepare was got progress by implementing YouTube-based video.]]>
