Abstract

This class action research aims to increase the activity of student learning outcomes in cultural art  (dance) at class VII in SMP N 1 Luhak Nan Duo. This research was a quantitative research with using experimental method. This study used data that were derived from the results of cultural art learning of students class VII at SMPN 1 Luhak Nan Duo or learning outcomes after the experiments were carried out. Techniques of data collection used in this study were tests given at the end of the cycle. Data collection were done by taking observation, tests and documentation. Meanwhile, technique of data analysis in quantitative research used statistics. The results of the study show that there is an effect of the student learning outcomes using learning model (CTL) on dance motion material based on time and energy, rather than the student learning outcomes that is taught with an experimental class average only gets  78.2 and 71.3 for the value of the control class.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the inhibiting factors of the process of learning art and culture, especially in dance teaching materials at SMP N 4 Padang. The type of this research was qualitative using an analytical descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. Data analysis was done by: data reduction, data presentation and verification of data in conclusion. The results indicated that the inhibiting factors of art and culture learning (dance) at SMP N 4 Padang were: (1) teacher factors, teacher factors which meant that improper use of methods, classroom management, and mastery of teacher material in teaching had an impact on student abilities responding to students in participating in this dance learning. The method given by the teacher did not vary so that students appeared bored and did not care about learning dance so that classroom management became noisy added by the lack of mastery of the material by the teacher, (2) student factors. It could be seen through 3 indicators, namely desire, attention and participation, which could be seen from the first meeting to the third meeting. This could be proven in the first meeting with a percentage of 1.5%. The second meeting was 1.3%, and there was a decrease in the third meeting with a percentage of 1.1%, and (3) the infrastructure facilities used in SMP N 4 Padang in the dance learning process were incomplete, so students' interest in the dance learning activities was low due to space that was not available in the process of learning dance. Thus, the learning process has not been effective.

Abstract

Abstract This study was aimed to describe performance of Barombai dance on Turun ka sawah ceremony in Nagari Padang Laweh Kecamatan Koto VII Kabupaten Sijunjung. Type of this study was qualitative with analytic descriptive mthod. The study object was performance of Barombai dance on Turun ka sawah ceremony in Nagari Padang Laweh Kecamatan Koto VII Kabupaten Sijunjung with data were both primary and secondary. Instrument used in this study was the researcher. Technique of data collection were done by using library research, observation, interview and documentation. Furthermore, data were analyized accurately and selected as needed and it’s relation with the posed problem. Result of this study showed that performance of Barombai dance was combination of imitation motion activities at farmland namely mancangku (mencangkul), mambuek luluak (membuat lumpur), mancampak (membuang), manyimbua (menyiram), malunyah (menginjak), manjapuik baniah (menjemput benih), batanam/ ma atu (menanam), basiang (menyiang) dan mananti padi tobiek (menunggu padi masak). Iringan musik tari Barombai dari talempong pacik dan gendang serta dendang yang khas “dadoi”. Performance of this dance was performed at farmland by using floor pattern of linear progression that were using horizontal and circle. Costume which was used namely baju kurung, kain sarung and takuluak which used on a head. Abstract

Abstract This article aims to discover and describe the Interest of students Towards the art of dance in Dance in JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL extracurricular activities Development Laboratory research using the UNP. qualitative method with descriptive analysis approach. The object of this research is the students who follow the Extracurricular dance in JUNIOR Development Laboratory UNP totalling 18 people. Research instrument this is a researcher as observer and tools in accordance with observation sheets. The technique of data collection on penilitian this is with the study of librarianship, documentation, observation, and then processed using the formula percentages and rates close to the respondent. The results showed that the interest of students towards extracurricular dance belongs to the medium. It is obtained from the results of the calculations of the indicator by using the observation sheets feeling pleased with the amount of percentage of 70.3% 55.5%, interest, attention to 62.9%, 75.9% engagement, curiosity 46.2% and 33.3% of the needs. So the summation of the data obtained through observation is 57.4%. Keywords: Interest students, dance art, extracurricular activities

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of dance development activities in SMP-SDI Silungkang. The type of research is qualitative research by usingdescriptive method of analysis. The objects in this study were 23 students consisting of grade VII and grade VIII at SMP-SDI Silungkang. The instrument used in this study was the researchers themselves and supported by observation, documentation and interviews. The types of data in this researcher were primary data and secondary data. In data collection used secondary techniques. The technique of data collection was done by means of library studies, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the dance development activities in SMP-SDI Silungkang ran well. Although, self-development activities in coaching were assisted by the teachers of Communication and Information Technology (ICT). However, the results  can be achievedwell. This was also supported by thestudents’ interest to improve their self-development of dance in the school.

Abstract

This type of research is Class Action Research (PTK). This research will be carried out 2 cycles, cycle I is done 2 times and cycle II is done 2 times. The intrument used in this study are motivational questionnaires and student knowledge tests.  This type of data uses primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation (observation), tests of learning outcomes (tests for work) and tests of student motivation in cultural arts (dance) subjects, then completed with documentation. Data is analyzed using the percentage formula. The results showed that the use of Demonstration Methods and lectures in the learning of cultural arts, especially dance arts in class VIII.3 junior high school N 4 Tarusan, South Coast can increase learning outcomes In addition to the use of Demonstration Methods, Lecture Methods and media can also avoid saturation in students in following the teaching and learning process, so as to foster student motivation, and more fun learning. This is evidenced by the existence of student learning outcomes in class VIII.3 in cycle I of the average student learning outcome of 61.61, with quite good criteria. Furthermore, student motivation towards cultural arts (dance) subjects averaged 53 with unfavorable criteria. In cycle II student learning outcomes increased by an average of 84.51% of excellent criteria. Furthermore, the motivation of students against dance arts subjects averaged 69.00 with quite good criteria. It can be concluded that the selection of strategies using the Demonstration Method, lecture method and media has succeeded in achieving the target above KKM which is 75.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the educational values of characters and reveal the meaning of character values contained in plate dance in Sanggar Pelangi Ranah Minang Padang. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The main instruments in this study are self-research and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of library studies, observations, interviews and documentation. Steps to analyze data are data collection, describing data and making conclusions. The results showed that Tari Piring in Sanggar Pelangi Ranah Minang contains character education values that can be used as learning for the surrounding community as well as dance performers. The learning in this case is as an effort to establish a character that Kediri himself and the wider community apply. Piring Dance in Sanggar Pelangi Ranah Minang teaches that people always have a relationship with God, responsibility and curiosity. The educational values of the characters contained in The Plate Dance in Sanggar Pelangi Ranah Minang can be classified as the educational value of characters related to God, Self, others. The educational values of the characters contained in The Plate Dance in Sanggar Pelangi Ranah Minang played a role in the formation of the personality of a characterful and dignified nation.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the use of audiovisual media in learning to improve the learning results of dance in SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. This type of research is research action class (classroom action research) and measures planning (plan), persiapaan the implementation of the action, observation (observation), reflection (reflection). Research procedures can be divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and completion. The research instrument was its own researchers and supporting instruments such as assisted with writing instruments, video cameras and photo cameras. And techniques in analyzing the data is carried out by means of direct data processing in the field. The results showed that the audio visual media can improve the learning results of dance students in learning the art of dance in the SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. With the media can also attract the attention of students and reduce the saturation level of the students in the teaching and learning process. On cycle I results on tests of learning psychomotor cycle I IE 7 persons complete and the 25 people are not completely cognitive tests, while 18 people has been completed and 14 persons thoroughly, but not in cycle II has experienced an increase in psychomotor tests i.e. 30 people has been completed and 2 people don't completely, whereas in cognitive tests there were 26 people thoroughly and 6 people don't completely. The increase in the natural occurring due to use of audio visual media triggers and learning interest of students and coupled with planning that designed everything possible to improve the results of learning by doing evaluasai on each meeting.

Abstract

The research aims to reveal and describe the existence of the Salapan dance in enagarian Air Bangis Kecamatan Sungai Beremas Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. This type of research uses primary and secondary data. The main instrument in this research is its own researchers and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data collection techniques are conducted by way of library studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps for analyzing data are data collection, classifying data, analyzing data, interpreting data and making conclusions. The results showed that the existence of the Salapan dance in the middle of society is no longer exist because this dance is rarely displayed and there is no workshop to defend this dance. The choreographers of the Salapan dance creations have also eliminated the meaning of the tradition of dance by changing the movements and properties of the dance itself. The Salapan dance is no longer displayed at events held by local communities such as weddings, but the Salapan dance is only shown more frequently at the request of Tourism office in West Pasaman and competition events.

Abstract

This research aims to explain and describe the improvement of students' learning outcomes by using Discovery Method in dance learning at SMP Negeri 3 Padang. This research belongs to Class Action Research (PTK). This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Cycle I was conducted in three meetings and cycle II was conducted in two meetings. The instruments used in this study were knowledge tests (cognitive) and skill tests (psychomotors). The data used were primary and secondary data.  The data were collected through literature study, observation, learning outcome tests (performance test), and documentation. The data analysis was done by using percentage formula. The results show that the use of discovery method in Culture and Arts learning, especially dance learning in grade VIII.3 of SMP Negeri 3 Padang, can improve students’ learning outcomes, and the students are directly involved in learning, especially dance practice learning. With the support of media, the students’ disinterest in the learning process can be avoided. It can also foster student creativity, and learning is more enjoyable because of the existence of media used by teachers. This is proven by the study results of grade VIII.3 students in cycle I. The overall students’ learning results of psychomotor and cognitive test are 57.74. In cycle II, the overall students’ learning results of psychomotor and cognitf are 87.58. Thus, there has been an increase in the results of dance learning using discovery method, and the targets have been successfully achieved.
