Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aimed at describing the choreography of the Mapak dance at Tebing Tinggi Kabupaten Empat Lawang Sumatera Selatan. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative research. Data were obtained from the library study, observantion, and interview. From the data analysis, it was found that the Mapak dance was performed as a welcoming dance for important guests who came to Kabupaten Empat Lawang and a veil was given to the guests at the end of the dance. There were six kinds of move included in this dance. They were the meaningful movements which included the entrance moves, the greeting moves, and the inviting moves and the pure movements which included the ngunjak moves, the honoring moves and the resting move. The flooring design dominantly used the straight line. The top designs included the deep, angular, conceited, medium and low designs. The accompaniment music was the external music. The one climax  dramatic design used was the singular cone. The big group was composed by using the united and the equilibrate designs. The costumes worn for dancing were baju kurung, songket, and its accessories. The makeup used beautiful. Abstract

Abstract This article aimed to describe the Performing Arts Management at Tuah Sakato Studio.This research was qualitative research with descriptive type. This research was conducted at Tuah Sakato Studio in Padang City. The object of the study was the studio of Tuah Sakato in Padang City. The techniques of data collection were interviews, documentation and direct observation in the field. Meanwhile, the analysis of the data used in this study was interpretation technique. The results of the study showed that the management of Tuah Sakato Studio had a planning by making programs that would be carried out and implemented, with preparation of equipment and training. The organizing of the studio had been organized by making the management structure in the form of lines. The organizing also determined the duties and authorities of the board. The movement was done by carrying out the provision of motivation, guidance and mobilizing on the stated goals. Internal supervision was carried out directly or indirectly. In the other hand, external supervision was done with evaluation of activities. Tuah Sakato studio also had a production house consisting of dance, music, Malam Bainai, and babako. Marketing management of Tuah Sakato studio also followed the current development of times. Tuah Sakato studio was already registered in tourism office and cooperated with the office. Abstract

Abstract This article aims to reveal and explain the function of Kelik Lang dance in a traditional wedding ceremony in Pulau Temiang village especially in Tebo Ulu regency. The types of this research are qualitative and descriptive method. The data collected by a literature study, observation, interviews, photo shoot and documentation. The analysis of the data based on the conceptual framework. The result of the research showed that Kelik Lang dance always use in traditional wedding ceremony especially in “Belarak” event before the bride and groom enter the bridge house.  The function of Kelik Lang dance are (1) as a media of marriage ceremony (2) as an entertainment and recreational for citizen (3) as an idea or ritual in marriage process (4) as a media to express feeling of soul. Abstract

The research aims to reveal, describe, and analyze the development of the Tampuruang Dance in Sabirullah Matador dance studio, KanagarianPasirTalangTimur, Solok Selatan Regency.This research is a qualitative research usinga descriptive analysis method. The object of this research is Tampuruang Dance in NagariPasirTalangTimur, Sungai PaguSubdistrict, SouthSolok Regency. The type of data was primary and secondary data. The main instrument was the research itself. The data collection techniques were conducted through literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed by using interpretation techniques so that the truth can be obtained.The results show that the Tampuruang Dance Tradition had developed into creativeTampuraung Dance.This development can be seen from the motion management, dancers, floor patterns, accompaniment music, make-up and clothing, as well as time and venue. In its motion, there is a development of 4 motives. Inthe floor pattern, there is development of 17 floor patterns. In costumes, the colors and accessories used are also developed.In the musical instrument, there aresomeadditions of musical instruments: Bansi, talempong, andjimbe. Thus, the process of Tampuruang Dance development in NagariPasirTalang is supported because there is a desire from the Sabirullah Matador studio to maintainTampuruang Dance by turning it into an attractiveTampuruang dance creationso that it can be used by the community. In addition, it can be a place for youths to learn maintaining cultural heritage so that it becomes a local village identity.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to disclose and describe about "review Choreography Dance Delight-Delight in Kanagarian Pauh IX Subdistrict Kuranji Padang city". This qualitative research study with the method descriptive analysis. The object examined was the dance of Delight-Delight in Kanagarian Pauh IX Subdistrict Kuranji Padang city. Research instrument is the researcher himself, and assisted with the instruments supporting such as stationery, photo cameras, cassette cd and pendrive. The type of data in this study is the primary data and secondary data. Engineering data collection done by the study of librarianship, observation/observation, interviews. The concept is used to analyze data are data collection, data reduction, withdrawal and presentation of conclusions. The results showed that views on choreography dance Delight-Delight consists of form and content. The form includes: dancer (4 person female dancer), motion farmed (maknawi motion) 14 motif, top design (design 8 above), the design of the floor (horizontal, rectangular), dramatic design (single cone), the composition of the groups of 4 people (large group), music (dance accompaniment vocals dendang, talempong, bansi and gandang), costumes (male costumes), the properties of the oil bottles (dama). The content includes: the idea of dance Delight-Delight comes from a family that worked in the rice fields of the mother membuaikan her crying and dad sing dendang. The atmosphere of dance Delight-Delight, namely: the quiet atmosphere, passion and joy. Keywords: dance Delight-Delight

Abstract

Research using descriptive methods. The research instrument was the researchers herself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries, photo camera and DSLR camera. The types of data in this study were primary and secondary data. The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, and documentation. In analyzing This article aimed to find out the Role of Pagar Pengantin Dance in the Environment of the Bayung Lincir District. The type of this research was qualitative the data, there were several stages, namely, data reduction and data presentation. The results showed that the Pagar Pengantin dance in the Bayung Lencir district was only performed at weddings. Pagar Pengantin dance performed at weddings had a role as a release of single age. As related to the appearance of, the bride must join in as a dancer and dance with four bride fence dancers. This dance must be pulled in front of the aisle seat because this dance must be witnessed by the groom who aimed to protect the dancing bride. Married brides are no longer permitted to dance except with permission from their husbands because the symbols from the trays used by the bride's stand are likened to houses where married women have restrictions. Pagar Pengantin Dance is a dance that means separation between the bride and her family to form a new family, and this dance also symbolizes the meaning of the union of two different families into one.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to reveal and explain the existence of dance in Ateh Piriang Kaco in Nagari Bayur. Type of research is a qualitative, descriptive method. Object of study is the existence of dance in Ateh Piriang Kaco. Data obtained with a literature study, observation, interviews, photo shoots and documentation. Conducted data analysis with ethnographic techniques. The results showed that dance Piriang in Ateh Kaco still recognized to this day by people Bayur. This is evidenced by the still in use and functioning of dance Piriang in Ateh Kaco by the Cultural Bayur in social activities. Kata kunci: keberadaan, tari, Piriang, Ateh, Kaco

Abstract

This article aims to describe and illustrate about the existence of the art Dance Studio fire in Bungo Puti Mandugo Payakumbuh Barat Sub-district waves of Payakumbuh. This research was conducted with qualitative, descriptive methods. The main research instrument is the researcher himself, and assisted with the supporting instruments such as stationery and photo cameras. The data type is primary data and secondary data. The technique of data collection is done with the carastudi library, observation, interview and documentation. Steps in analyzing data with the stages of data collection, i.e. selecting, presenting and analyzing data. The results showed that the Dance community on Fire Bungo Puti Ibuh serves as the fulfillment of the needs of the instinct will be beauty. Dance Puti Bungo Api serves as entertainment for the community and displayed at the event helat nagari, a wedding, a race-race and festival. Seen from the creation of dance Puti Bungo fire in 1975 used to welcome President Soeharto. In 1977-2009 there is no appearance but there is still activity exercises. In dance 2010-2016 Puti Bungo Fire began to be noticed by the community so popular in it to be displayed in the event helat nagari, marriage and race. But until now the dance 2017-2018 Puti Bungo Fire rarely shown, but it was still taught in the workshop of Mandugo waves.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the preservation of Ambek-ambek dance by SanggarTimbulun Koto Basaga in Koto Anau village, Lembang Jaya District, Solok Regency. This research belongs to a qualitative research using a descriptive method. The object of this research wasAmbek-ambek dance by Sanggar Timbulun Koto Basaga in Koto Anau village, Lembang Jaya District, Solok Regency. The main research instrument in this study was the researcher itself. The tools used in the research were writing instruments, photo cameras, and flash drives. The data were collected through literature studies, observation, interview, and documentation. Ambek-ambek dance tells about a woman who was sewing. Then a man arrived to draw her attention so they joke together. The results show that Ambek-ambek dance is preserved through protection, development, and utilization. Protection is carried out by holding dance training every two times a week, development is carried out by developing the costume section but it still sticks to traditional values, and utilization is carried out by performing dance at school events, alek nagari, competition events, and wedding parties. Thus, Ambek-ambek dance is known by all groups both local and outside the city.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to know and to description about student interest to lesson dance of art an MTsn Pakan Selasa Regency of South Solok. The kind of research that do is quantitative and descriptive and to use questionnaire technic. Indicator that to use is attention feeling and discipline. Analyze data to base of result a research to show that student interest to lesson dance of art at MTsN Pekan Selasa Regency of South Solok. That have to category is very good or 91,7% (Attention Indicator, 87,23%, Feeleng indikator 83,14%, dicipline indikator 104,75%).
