Abstract

The Indonesian population likes and demands processed soy products like tofu and tempeh. The daily mass production of tofu may have a detrimental effect on the environment. Using the Life Cycle Assessment approach, this study examines the environmental impact of the tofu production process in West Jakarta from cradle - to - grave. The 35 kg of tofu produced in each production batch served as the study's functional unit. The process of cultivating and transporting soybeans to the factory was included in the environmental impact analysis process. Tofu production data which includes washing, soaking, milling, cooking, screening, clumping and printing tofu were obtained from observational data, interviewing, and inventory data. and inventory data of the tofu production process. The equipment used such as plastic, stainless steel and wood tools are taken into account in the environmental impact analysis by taking into account the service life. The environmental impacts analyzed include the potential for global warming (GWP), acidification, the potential for depletion of the ozone layer (ODP), and eutrophication. Using Simapro software, environmental impact analysis was performed using the CML-IA methodology. The analysis's findings indicate that the following environmental effect values were produced: GWP of 34.2 kg CO2 eq, acidification of 0.0551 kg SO2 eq, ODP of 5.44E-7 kg CFC-11 eq, and eutrophication of 0 kg PO4 eq. The process of cultivation and transportation of soybeans to the factory was the biggest contributor to the potential for global warming in tofu production.

Abstract

The existence of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is an economic pillar both on a family scale and on a national scale. Even so, there are many problems faced by MSMEs in maintaining and at the same time advancing the business they are engaged in as is the case with the MSME Dodol Making Group in Bojonggede Village, Bojonggede District, Bogor Regency. The problem faced by partners is difficulties during the dodol rolling process, especially when orders are overflowing. Because the rolling process still uses human power, it causes fatigue for workers and has an impact on non-standard products. The second problem is related to the unhealthy condition of the production process room (kitchen) and display area. The Kampung Bangkit Program for Welfare Improvement for the Dodol Group in Bojonggede Village, Bojonggede District, Bogor Regency, aims to increase production as well as improve production facilities and infrastructure that guarantee the health of its workers. The method used is to conduct training on the process of rolling dodol with a simple rolling machine, counseling on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) management, and piloting production process infrastructure and facilities through kitchen arrangement. The result of this community service activity is the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process from the processing, packaging, and product display stages. This has a direct impact on increasing production and increasing dodol orders which are felt directly by partners.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing industry that produces various cleaning equipment. One of the products that has a high level of defects are trash bins made of stainless steel. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of stainless steel waste products. The method used is Six Sigma and Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process. In the Define stage, the types of defects found were body dents, scratches, spots, and rough covers. In the Measure stage, the initial DPMO value obtained is 3.422. In the Analyze stage, the results of the analysis process are defects with the highest Risk Priority Number of 280. The next stage is Improve, where defects with the highest RPN value are prioritized for proposed improvements using Fuzzy AHP. Based on the results of the Fuzzy AHP assessment, it was found that the highest weight was alternative 3, namely the machine must be cleaned regularly after being used at 0.4322, alternative 2, namely the addition of material handling to facilitate product transfer of 0.2048, and alternative 4, namely the establishment of SOPs for product handling. of 0.2041. After the Improve stage, the final stage in the form of Control is carried out to see whether the implementation of the proposed improvements has a positive impact on the company. The DPMO results obtained after implementation were 3.6061.
