Abstract

Lukisan merupakan sarana ekspresi yang merefleksikan ide dan gagasan seseorang, termasuk fenomena alam yang sering menjadi inspirasi dalam karya seni. Salah satu contoh adalah lukisan Macari Oase Tengah Kota karya Ardiansyah Prainhantanto, yang merepresentasikan hubungan antara alam dan kehidupan urban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna, nilai, serta pesan dalam lukisan tersebut dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan kritik holistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lukisan ini mencerminkan respons seniman terhadap perubahan lingkungan perkotaan melalui penggunaan warna yang ekspresif dan komposisi yang dinamis. Karya ini mengandung berbagai nilai, antara lain nilai sosial (gotong royong, guyub rukun, tepo seliro), nilai kehidupan (memberikan manfaat, sikap memaafkan, perbuatan baik, rendah hati), dan nilai budaya (akulturasi). Melalui Macari Oase Tengah Kota, seniman tidak hanya menyajikan estetika visual, tetapi juga menyampaikan pesan tentang pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan antara alam dan pembangunan kota. Karya ini menjadi refleksi kritis terhadap perubahan lingkungan sekaligus mengajak masyarakat untuk lebih peduli terhadap keberlanjutan ekologi di tengah perkembangan urbanisasi.

Abstract

The Teaching Assistant Program allows students to develop and practice teaching skills in educational institutions. However, its implementation presents challenges and obstacles that are not well-defined. This study aims to identify the challenges and obstacles students face in the program. The subjects of this study are Art Education students in the Junior High School program in Malang Raya. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The findings show that at each stage of the teaching assistant program, there are issues that create challenges and obstacles for the students. Problems identified in the preparation phase include activities such as socialization, briefing, program preparation on campus, and individual student factors. Challenges and obstacles include the lack of specific training for Art Education students and Field Supervisors (DPL). In the implementation phase, issues arise in areas such as deployment, observation, program planning and implementation, teaching and non-teaching activities, interest conflicts, and personal problems of students. A key challenge is the lack of commitment from some team members. In the reporting phase, challenges include short deadlines for preparing and submitting reports.

Abstract

Baluran Park is a conservation area with 26 species of animals, 444 species of plants and 155 species of birds in Baluran Park. This study aims to create a work of batik motifs in Baluran Park through batik painting artwork that can introduce Baluran Park tourist attractions to the public, and also as a form of promotion through the media of batik painting or painting. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the process of exploration, improvisation process, and the results of batik painting works inspired by Baluran Park. This research method uses the creation method according to Alma Hawkins. The results of this creation are that at the exploration stage, ideas were found, namely fauna which were used as ideas for creation, and also the use of eco print techniques using teak leaves and natural dyes from turmeric and secang. At the improvisation stage, eight sketches were produced consisting of sketches of deer, bulls, leopards, mangrove cats, and peacocks. At the formation stage, the eight sketches that went through the creation process became eight batik paintings that will be exhibited. The eight works are titled: Psyche, Diversiteit Van Baluran, Fortitudo, Dewi Pelindung, Kecantikan Langka, Kuat Perlindungan, Panthera Herten, Baluran Kaart. The creation of this painted batik is to remind the public of the importance of maintaining and protecting the existing biodiversity so that it does not become extinct.

Abstract

The painting "Blekok Cafe" by Eko Alif, created in 2024, was chosen as the research object to explore the messages and values ​​in the artwork. The researcher felt complex emotions in this painting, in the form of a contradiction between luxury and anger in the figure of the Blekok bird that appears alienated from its natural habitat. This study aims to identify and analyze the values ​​and synthesis contained in the work, especially in the context of the relationship between humans, nature, and other living things. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a holistic critical approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews with the artist, observation of the artwork, and analysis of documents related to the social and environmental context. Data were collected from three main sources: genetic information (from the artist), objective information (from the artwork), and affective information (from devotees). A triangulation of methods was used to validate the findings obtained. The results of the study show that this painting depicts Eko Alif's anxiety about the negative impact of human activities on nature, especially on the disturbed habitat of the blekok bird. The social value contained in this painting is the importance of reminding each other to maintain harmony between humans, nature, and other living things. The painting "Blekok Cafe" conveys a strong message about the need for awareness of the existence of nature and other living things that are often overlooked in the materialistic human world.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences and similarities between traditional houses in Nusantara with research samples taken from 2 countries namely Joglo traditional hoise in Yogyakarta Indonesia and Melaka traditional house in Melaka Malaysia. The research method used is qualitative by means of descriptive research that takes the type of comparative activities of traditional house in Nusantara. Data obtained from direct observation to the location (Yogyakarta and Malaysia), interviews with informants, and taking documents data in the form of photos, layout drawings, and images. The results showed similarities and differences between the Joglo traditional house in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and the Melaka tarditional house in Malaysia. Judging from the aspect of the building, the Joglo house was built directly above ground level while the Melaka house was built with a stage system. The different types of buildings, plus the different users and spatial activities, lead to differences in interior layout. However, both Joglo traditional house and Melaka traditional house were built in 1 building mass. Both houses also still use wood material in some parts of the house. In addition, the house is also supported by poles that use wood material. Keyword: Comparation, Interior, Traditional House, Joglo, Melaka  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan dan persamaan diantara rumah tradisional Nusantara dengan sampel penelitian yang diambil dari 2 negara yaitu rumah tradisional Joglo Yogyakarta Indonesia dan rumah tradisional Melaka Malaysia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan cara penelitian deskripsi yang mengambil jenis kegiatan komparasi rumah tinggal tradisional Nusantara. Data diperoleh dari observasi langsung ke lokasi (Yogyakarta dan Malaysia), wawancara kepada narasumber, serta mengambil data dalam bentuk dokumen berupa foto, gambar layout, dan gambar tampak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya persamaan dan perbedaan antara rumah Joglo Yogyakarta, Indonesia dan rumah Melaka Malaysia. Ditinjau dari aspek bangunan, rumah Joglo dibangun langsung di atas permukaan tanah sedangkan rumah Melaka dibangun dengan sistem panggung. Perbedaan jenis bangunan ini, ditambah perbedaan pengguna dan aktivitas ruangnya, menyebabkan adanya perbedaan tata ruang interior di dalamnya. Akan tetapi, Baik rumah Joglo dan Rumah Melaka dibangun dalam 1 massa bangunan. Kedua rumah tersebut juga masih menggunakan material kayu di beberapa bagian rumah. Abstract

Upaya mempercepat pemahaman dan praktik kewirausahaan di Kampung Manteraman, Desa Pagelaran, dilakukan melalui diversifikasi motif dan pendampingan produksi batik. Peningkatan kualitas dan daya saing produk batik lokal menjadi fokus utama. Pendekatan yang diterapkan mencakup pelatihan intensif dan bimbingan teknis untuk memperkenalkan motif-motif baru yang inovatif serta sesuai dengan tren pasar. Di samping itu, pendampingan dalam aspek produksi dan manajemen usaha diberikan guna meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas. Hasil yang diharapkan meliputi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat setempat dalam kewirausahaan, serta kualitas produk batik yang mampu bersaing di pasar yang lebih luas. Melalui program ini, diharapkan terjadi peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat dan keberlanjutan usaha batik di Kampung Manteraman. Pendekatan holistik ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dampak jangka panjang yang positif bagi komunitas, meningkatkan kesejahteraan, serta mendorong keberlanjutan ekonomi berbasis budaya lokal. Keberhasilan program ini diukur melalui peningkatan keterampilan dan pengetahuan warga, serta kualitas dan daya saing produk batik yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

The phenomenon of teachers’ limited ability to design assessment instruments based on higher-order thinking skills has become a major challenge at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. Initial surveys and focus group discussions with 20 teachers showed that most still relied on lower-order thinking questions and had not yet utilized diagnostic assessments to support differentiated instruction. This condition contributes to students’ low abilities in critical thinking and contextual problem-solving, despite both being essential competencies in the twenty-first century. To address this issue, the implementation team developed a teacher capacity-building program through integrated training on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and diagnostic assessment. The three-month program used a participatory approach, involving teachers in needs identification, assessment storyboard development, and visual design for differentiated learning, workshops, and classroom implementation mentoring. Activities included training on HOTS-based item construction, assessment simulations using Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA), and the application of Differentiated Instruction (DI) with tiered tasks aligned with students’ learning profiles. The program results showed significant improvement in teachers’ ability to design HOTS instruments and diagnostic assessments. Key outputs included a HOTS item bank, diagnostic assessment storyboard templates, and cross-subject differentiated learning designs. The program also fostered the development of a reflective practice–based teacher mentoring model, which was replicated through the school’s Professional Learning Community (PLC) as a platform for sustained collaboration and innovation at the regional level.

Abstract

Limbah pembungkus kertas rokok adalah limbah yang mudah ditemukan di lingkungan sekitar. Limbah ini belum banyak diolah kembali oleh masyarakat menjadi benda seni seperti canting cap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui motif khas dari Desa Kedungbanteng serta menciptakan canting cap dengan motif tersebut menggunakan limbah kertas rokok. Desa Kedungbanteng dipilih karena memiliki ciri khas yang berpotensi menjadi identitas untuk divisualisasikan menjadi motif batik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode milik SP Gustami yang meliputi tahap eksplorasi, tahap perancangan, dan tahap perwujudan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Desa Kedungbanteng memiliki ciri khas sebagai penghasil batok kelapa yang dibuat menjadi souvenir serta peralatan makan dan minum. Ditemukan juga adanya tumbuhan teratai dan hewan bajing yang dapat dijadikan sebagai motif canting cap. Dihasilkan juga 7 canting cap dengan motif bajing 1, bajing 2, teratai, rumput, biji-bijian, gelas batok kelapa, dan teko batok kelapa. Diharapkan canting cap ini dapat digunakan dan dikembangkan oleh masyarakat Desa Kedungbanteng sehingga memberi manfaat dalam pengembangan kreativitas dan perekonomian masyarakat.
