Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to know the structure of the phytoplankton community in waters of PLTU Nagan Raya and to know the index of saprobitas based on the quality of waters in physics and chemistry of water. Research methods are laboratories where data research results obtained from the measurement results directly (in situ). The analysis conducted in the laboratory include identification and measurement of physical and chemical parameters of the water. The parameters in the observed in this research is phytoplankton abundance, diversity index, uniformity coefficient, saprobik, domination, phytoplankton, and water quality index. The results of the research there were 21 types of Phytoplankton Composition, from the 5th Division Cyanophyta, Euglenophyta, namely Chryshophyta, Bacillariophyta and Chlorophyta. The average phytoplankton abundance ranged from 20-72 cells/l, with an abundance of phytoplankton dominated Chryshophyta i.e. 42,66-2,66%. Judging from the average index of diversity IE 0-2.23; the uniformity that is 0-0.73; the dominance of 0 – 0.72; with saprobitas coefficients of phytoplankton ranges from 0.25 – 1.18 and average water quality index range 6.2466 – 63.6272; The result indicates the quality of the waters to provide moderate to very bad.

Abstract

The use of mangrove forests in Kuala Bubon, in general, gives priority to economic functions rather than ecological functions. If this is not managed as soon as possible, damage to mangrove forests will become more extensive. In general, there are two factors causing damage to the mangrove forests that occurred in the Kuala Bubon, namely human factors and natural factors. The objective of this study is to determine the use of mangrove forests for the life of coastal communities and the participation of communities in the preservation of mangroves. The method of data collection using survey methods is carried out from descriptive and quantitative way. Perception and community participation were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The method used to measure people's perception is the Likert scale method. The results of the study showed that the use of mangroves for the life of coastal communities was still in the middle category, based on the categorization of the data, revealed that the value of using the mangrove (1,113) is one of the criteria that approaches high levels. This shows that the use of mangroves in the village of Kuala Bubon, Samatiga district, West Aceh Regency is already good, although there is still no specific sanction for people who cut illegally. Community participation in the conservation of mangroves can improve the lives of coastal communities is still insufficient when, based on the calculation of the categorization of data obtained, the value of the community participation of 1,498 is among the average criteria.

Abstract

Eel (Anguilla sp) is an export commodity from fisheries and high economic value . Indonesia has high potency of eel elver and glass ell, but until now its use for aquaculture is still very low. The aims of this study were to fishculture system with enviromental approach and management of feeding the eel growth in container cultivation as domestication. This study was conducted from March to May 2016. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design  with three different feeding treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The eel was used for this studied Anguilla sp. of stadia elver with an average weight 0,5 gram/fish. The results showed that different feeding treatment giving significantly affect all parameters. The best feeding was mixture of feed pellets and tubifex with a survival of 73.92 %, growth rate of 0.030 g, the biomass growth rate of 9.07 g/day, and the feed conversion of 1.32.

Abstract

The study was carried out at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (RTIU) Conservation Monitoring of Marine and Fishery Resources  (CMOMFS) of West Sumatera Province. The observation was conducted from January 1st to January 30th 2020. Measurements of sand samples in semi-natural nets and water samples in rearing ponds were conducted ex-situ. The research consisted of several parameters such as humidiy, temperature, depth and diameters of semi-natural nets as well as salinity, pH and water temperature of the rearing pond. Based on the observations, it was found that turtle breeding technique consisted of several stages including, monitoring of the coast, ensuring the depth and diameters of nets, incubation of eggs, hatching eggs, taking the hatchlings from semi-natural nets, nursery hatchlings, feeding hatchlings, rearing hatchlings and turtles and realesing hatchlings. The results showed that the value of humadity, temperature, dept and diameter of semi-natural nets respectively ranged between 4% - 6%, 28 - 35 0C, 40-60 cm and 20 cm. Meanwhile, the value of salinity, temperature and pH of rearing pond water ranged between 13 - 14 ppm, 27 - 28 0C and 7-8. The turtle breeding tecniques were in accordance with the guidelines for turtle conservation and had been generally established. The result of turtle rearing pond water quality measurements were in accordance with the water quality standards according to KepMenLH No. 51 in 2004 concerning Seawater Quality Standards, especially for the categoy of Marine Biota. Keywords: Strategy, Conservation, Turtle, CMOMFS

Abstract

Sea turtles be found around Aroen Meubanja, Aceh Jaya at certain times of the year in raising their eggs in the coastal area. The aim of the research was to detect a collection of turtle eggs and be able to maintain their development until they hatch into hatchlings. This research was conducted in August – September 2019. The results of this study indicate that turtle conservation management in Aceh Jaya includes protecting turtles from their eggs until they are released to the beach in the afternoon. Turtle eggs are maintained by making nests with a width of 25 cm and a depth of 80 cm from the surface of the sand until they hatch into hatchlings. The community will release hatchlings into marine habitats and provide education through monitoring of coastal areas
